Isaiah 3:1For, lo, the Lord, Jehovah of Hosts, Is turning aside from Jerusalem, And from Judah, stay and staff, Every stay of bread, and every stay of water.For behold, the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, will take away from Jerusalem and from Judah stay and staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water,For, behold, the Lord, Yahweh of Hosts, does take away from Jerusalem and from Judah stay and staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water;For behold the sovereign the Lord of hosts shall take away from Jerusalem, and from Juda the valiant and the strong, the whole strength of bread, and the whole strength of water.
Isaiah 3:2Hero and man of war, judge and prophet, And diviner and elder,the mighty man and the man of war, the judge and the prophet, and the diviner and the elder,the mighty man, and the man of war; the judge, and the prophet, and the diviner, and the elder;The strong man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the cunning man, and the ancient.
Isaiah 3:3Head of fifty, and accepted of faces, And counsellor, and the wise of artificers, And the intelligent of charmers.the captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the clever among artificers, and the one versed in enchantments.the captain of fifty, and the honorable man, and the counselor, and the expert artificer, and the skillful enchanter.The captain over fifty, and the honourable in countenance, and the counsellor, and the architect, and the skilful in eloquent speech.
Isaiah 3:4And I have made youths their heads, And sucklings rule over them.And I will appoint youths as their princes, and children shall rule over them.I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.And I will give children to be their princes, and the effeminate shall rule over them.
Isaiah 3:5And the people hath exacted man upon man, Even a man on his neighbour, Enlarge themselves do the youths against the aged, And the lightly esteemed against the honoured.And the people shall be oppressed one by the other, and each by his neighbour; the child will be insolent against the elder, and the base against the honourable.The people shall be oppressed, everyone by another, and everyone by his neighbor: the child shall behave himself proudly against the old man, and the base against the honorable.And the people shall rush one upon another, and every man against his neighbour: the child shall make it tumult against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.
Isaiah 3:6When one layeth hold on his brother, [Of] the house of his father, [by] the garment, `Come, a ruler thou art to us, And this ruin [is] under thy hand.`When a man shall take hold of his brother, in his father's house, [and shall say:] Thou hast clothing; be our chief, and let this ruin be under thy hand;When a man shall take hold of his brother in the house of his father, [saying], You have clothing, be you our ruler, and let this ruin be under your hand;For a man shall take hold or his brother, one of the house of his father, saying: Thou hast a garment, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand.
Isaiah 3:7He lifteth up, in that day, saying: `I am not a binder up, And in my house is neither bread nor garment, Ye do not make me a ruler of the people.`he will lift up [his hand] in that day, saying, I cannot be a healer, and in my house there is neither bread nor clothing; ye shall not make me a chief of the people.in that day shall he lift up [his voice], saying, I will not be a healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: you shall not make me ruler of the people.In that day he shall answer, saying: I am no healer, and in my house there is no bread, nor clothing: make me not ruler of the people.
Isaiah 3:8For stumbled hath Jerusalem, and Judah hath fallen, For their tongue and their doings [are] against Jehovah, To provoke the eyes of His glory.For Jerusalem stumbleth and Judah falleth, because their tongue and their doings are against Jehovah, to provoke the eyes of his glory.For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen; because their tongue and their doings are against Yahweh, to provoke the eyes of his glory.For Jerusalem is ruined, and Juda is fallen: because their tongue, and their devices are against the Lord, to provoke the eyes of his majesty.
Isaiah 3:9The appearance of their faces witnessed against them, And their sin, as Sodom, they declared, They have not hidden! Wo to their soul, For they have done to themselves evil.The look of their face doth witness against them, and they declare their sin as Sodom: they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have brought evil upon themselves.The show of their face testifies against them. They declare their sin as Sodom. They don't hide it. Woe to their soul! For they have done evil to themselves.The shew of their countenance hath answered them: and they have proclaimed abroad their sin as Sodom, and they have not hid it: woe to their souls, for evils are rendered to them.
Isaiah 3:10Say ye to the righteous, that [it is] good, Because the fruit of their doings they eat.Say ye of the righteous that it shall be well [with him], for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.Say you of the righteous, that [it shall be] well [with him]; for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.Say to the just man that it is well, for he shall eat the fruit of his doings.
Isaiah 3:11Wo to the wicked evil, Because the deed of his hand is done to him.Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill [with him], because the desert of his hands shall be rendered unto him.Woe to the wicked! [it shall be] ill [with him]; for what his hands have done shall be done to him.Woe to the wicked unto evil: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.
Isaiah 3:12My people its exactors [are] sucklings, And women have ruled over it. My people thy eulogists are causing to err, And the way of thy paths swallowed up.[As for] my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. My people! they that guide thee mislead [thee], and destroy the way of thy paths.As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. My people, those who lead you cause you to err, and destroy the way of your paths.As for my people, their oppressors have stripped them, and women have ruled over them. O my people, they that call thee blessed, the same deceive thee, and destroy the way of thy steps.
Isaiah 3:13Jehovah hath stood up to plead, And He is standing to judge the peoples.Jehovah setteth himself to plead, and standeth to judge the peoples.Yahweh stands up to contend, and stands to judge the peoples.The Lord standeth up to judge, and he standeth to judge the people.
Isaiah 3:14Jehovah into judgment doth enter With elders of His people, and its heads: `And ye, ye have consumed the vineyard, Plunder of the poor [is] in your houses.Jehovah will enter into judgment with the elders of his people and their princes, [saying:] It is ye that have eaten up the vineyard: the spoil of the poor is in your houses.Yahweh will enter into judgment with the elders of his people, and the princes of it: It is you who have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses:The Lord will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and its princes: for you have devoured the vineyard, and the spoil of the poor is in your house.
Isaiah 3:15What to you? ye bruise My people, And the faces of the poor ye grind.` An affirmation of the Lord, Jehovah of Hosts, And Jehovah saith:What mean ye that ye crush my people, and grind the faces of the afflicted? saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts.what do you mean that you crush my people, and grind the face of the poor? says the Lord, Yahweh of Hosts.Why do you consume my people, and grind the faces of the poor? saith the Lord the God of hosts.
Isaiah 3:16`Because that daughters of Zion have been haughty, And they walk stretching out the neck, And deceiving [with] the eyes, Walking and mincing they go, And with their feet they make a tinkling,And Jehovah said, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched-out neck and wanton eyes, and go along mincing, and making a tinkling with their feet;Moreover Yahweh said, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with outstretched necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet;And the Lord said: Because the daughters of Sion are haughty, and have walked with stretched out necks, and wanton glances of their eyes, and made a noise as they walked with their feet and moved in a set pace:
Isaiah 3:17The Lord also hath scabbed The crown of the head of daughters of Zion, And Jehovah their simplicity exposeth.therefore the Lord will make bald the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and Jehovah will lay bare their secret parts.therefore the Lord will strike with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and Yahweh will lay bare their secret parts.The Lord will make bald the crown of the head of the daughters of Sion, and the Lord will discover their hair.
Isaiah 3:18In that day doth the Lord turn aside The beauty of the tinkling ornaments, And of the embroidered works, And of the round tires like moons,In that day the Lord will take away the ornament of anklets, and the little suns and crescents,In that day the Lord will take away the beauty of their anklets, and the headbands, and the crescents;In that day the Lord will take away the ornaments of shoes, end little moons,
Isaiah 3:19Of the drops, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,the pearl-drops, and the bracelets, and the veils,the pendants, and the bracelets, and the mufflers;And chains and necklaces, and bracelets, and bonnets,
Isaiah 3:20Of the bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, And of the bands, And of the perfume boxes, and the amulets,the head-dresses, and the stepping chains, and the girdles, and the scent-boxes, and the amulets;the headdresses, and the ankle chains, and the sashes, and the perfume-boxes, and the amulets;And bodkins, and ornaments of the legs, and tablets, and sweet balls, and earrings,
Isaiah 3:21Of the seals, and of the nose-rings,the finger-rings, and the nose-rings;the rings, and the nose-jewels;And rings, and jewels hanging on the forehead,
Isaiah 3:22Of the costly apparel, and of the mantles, And of the coverings, and of the purses,the festival-robes, and the tunics, and the mantles, and the wallets;the festival robes, and the mantles, and the shawls, and the satchels;And changes of apparel, and short cloaks, and fine linen, and crisping pins,
Isaiah 3:23Of the mirrors, and of the linen garments, And of the hoods, and of the vails,the mirrors, and the fine linen bodices, and the turbans, and the flowing veils.the hand-mirrors, and the fine linen, and the turbans, and the veils.And looking-glasses, and lawns, and headbands, and fine veils.
Isaiah 3:24And it hath been, instead of spice is muck, And instead of a girdle, a rope, And instead of curled work, baldness, And instead of a stomacher a girdle of sackcloth.And it shall come to pass, instead of perfume there shall be rottenness; and instead of a girdle, a rope; and instead of well-set hair, baldness; and instead of a robe of display, a girding of sackcloth; brand instead of beauty.It shall happen that instead of sweet spices there shall be rottenness; and instead of a belt, a rope; and instead of well set hair, baldness; and instead of a robe, a girding of sackcloth; branding instead of beauty.And instead of a sweet smell there shall be stench, and instead of a girdle, a cord, and instead of curled hair, baldness, and instead of a stomacher, haircloth.
Isaiah 3:25For instead of glory, thy men by sword do fall, And thy might in battle.Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the fight;Your men shall fall by the sword, and your mighty in the war.Thy fairest men also shall fall by the sword, and thy valiant ones in battle.
Isaiah 3:26And lamented and mourned have her openings, Yea, she hath been emptied, on the earth she sitteth!and her gates shall lament and mourn; and, stripped, she shall sit upon the ground.Her gates shall lament and mourn; and she shall be desolate and sit on the ground.And her gates shall lament and mourn, and she shall sit desolate on the ground.
