Psalms 59:1To the Overseer. `Destroy not,` by David. A secret treasure, in Saul`s sending, and they watch the house to put him to death. Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God, From my withstanders set me on high.{To the chief Musician. 'Destroy not.' Of David. Michtam; when Saul sent, and they watched the house to kill him.} Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God; secure me on high from them that rise up against me.Deliver me from my enemies, my God. Psalms 59:2Deliver me from workers of iniquity, And from men of blood save me.Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from men of blood.Deliver me from the workers of iniquity. Save me from the bloodthirsty men.when he set fire to Mesopotamia of Syria and Sobal and Joab returned and slew of Edom, in the vale of the saltpits, twelve thousand men.
Psalms 59:3For, lo, they laid wait for my soul, Assembled against me are strong ones, Not my transgression nor my sin, O Jehovah.For behold, they lie in wait for my soul; strong ones are gathered against me: not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Jehovah.For, behold, they lie in wait for my soul. The mighty gather themselves together against me, Not for my disobedience, nor for my sin, Yahweh.O God, thou hast cast us off, and hast destroyed us; thou hast been angry, and hast had mercy on us.
Psalms 59:4Without punishment they run and prepare themselves, Stir up to meet me, and see.They run and prepare themselves without [my] fault: awake to meet me, and behold.I have done no wrong, yet they are ready to attack me. Rise up, behold, and help me!Thou hast moved the earth, and hast troubled it: heal thou the breaches thereof, for it has been moved.
Psalms 59:5And Thou, Jehovah, God of Hosts, God of Israel, Awake to inspect all the nations. Favour not any treacherous dealers of iniquity. Selah.Yea, do thou, Jehovah, the God of hosts, the God of Israel, arise to visit all the nations: be not gracious to any plotters of iniquity. Selah.You, Yahweh God of hosts, the God of Israel, Rouse yourself to punish the nations. Show no mercy to the wicked traitors. Selah.Thou hast shewn thy people hard things; thou hast made us drink wine of sorrow.
Psalms 59:6They turn back at evening, They make a noise like a dog, And go round about the city.They return in the evening; they howl like a dog, and go round about the city:They return at evening, howling like dogs, And prowl around the city.Thou hast given a warning to them that fear thee: that they may flee from before the bow: That thy beloved may be delivered.
Psalms 59:7Lo, they belch out with their mouths, Swords [are] in their lips, for `Who heareth?`Behold, they belch out with their mouth; swords are in their lips: for who [say they] doth hear?Behold, they spew with their mouth. Swords are in their lips, "For," they say, "who hears us?"Save me with thy right hand, and hear me.
Psalms 59:8And Thou, O Jehovah dost laugh at them, Thou dost mock at all the nations.But thou, Jehovah, wilt laugh at them; thou wilt have all the nations in derision.But you, Yahweh, laugh at them. You scoff at all the nations.God hath spoken in his holy place: I will rejoice, and I will divide Sichem; and will mete out the vale of tabernacles.
Psalms 59:9O my Strength, unto Thee I take heed, For God [is] my tower the God of my kindness.Their strength! ... I will take heed to thee; for God is my high fortress.Oh, my Strength, I watch for you, For God is my high tower.Galaad is mine, and Manasses is mine: and Ephraim is the strength of my head. Juda is my king:
Psalms 59:10God doth go before me, He causeth me to look on mine enemies.God, whose loving-kindness will come to meet me, God shall let me see [my desire] upon mine enemies.My God will go before me with his lovingkindness. God will let me look at my enemies in triumph.Moab is the pot of my hope. Into Edom will I stretch out my shoe: to me the foreigners are made subject.
Psalms 59:11Slay them not, lest my people forget, Shake them by Thy strength, And bring them down, O Lord our shield.Slay them not, lest my people forget; by thy power make them wander, and bring them down, O Lord, our shield.Don't kill them, or my people may forget. Scatter them by your power, and bring them down, Lord our shield.Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?
Psalms 59:12The sin of their mouth [is] a word of their lips, And they are captured in their pride, And from the curse and lying they recount.[Because of] the sin of their mouth, the word of their lips, let them even be taken in their pride; and because of cursing and lying which they speak.For the sin of their mouth, and the words of their lips, Let them be caught in their pride, For the curses and lies which they utter.Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go out with our armies?
Psalms 59:13Consume in fury, consume and they are not, And they know that God is ruling in Jacob, To the ends of the earth. Selah.Make an end in wrath, make an end, that they may be no more; that they may know that God ruleth in Jacob, unto the ends of the earth. Selah.Consume them in wrath. Consume them, and they will be no more. Let them know that God rules in Jacob, To the ends of the earth. Selah.Give us help from trouble: for vain is the salvation of man.
Psalms 59:14And they turn back at evening, They make a noise like a dog, And they go round about the city.And in the evening they shall return, they shall howl like a dog, and go round about the city.At evening let them return. Let them howl like a dog, and go around the city.Through God we shall do mightily: and he shall bring to nothing them that afflict us.
Psalms 59:15They they wander for food, If they are not satisfied then they murmur.They shall wander about for meat, and stay all night if they be not satisfied.They shall wander up and down for food, And wait all night if they aren't satisfied.
Psalms 59:16And I I sing [of] Thy strength, And I sing at morn [of] Thy kindness, For thou hast been a tower to me, And a refuge for me in a day of adversity.But as for me, I will sing of thy strength; yea, I will sing aloud of thy loving-kindness in the morning; for thou hast been to me a high fortress, and a refuge in the day of my trouble.But I will sing of your strength. Yes, I will sing aloud of your lovingkindness in the morning. For you have been my high tower, A refuge in the day of my distress.
