| Job 14:1 | Man, born of woman! Of few days, and full of trouble! | Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. | Man born of a woman, living for a short time, is filled with many miseries. | Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. |
| Job 14:2 | As a flower he hath gone forth, and is cut off, And he fleeth as a shadow and standeth not. | He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not. | Who cometh forth like a flower, and is destroyed, and fleeth as a shadow, and never continueth in the same state. | He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not. |
| Job 14:3 | Also on this Thou hast opened Thine eyes, And dost bring me into judgment with Thee. | And dost thou open thine eyes upon such an one, and bringest me into judgment with thee? | And dost thou think it meet to open thy eyes upon such an one, and to bring him into judgment with thee? | And dost thou open thy eyes upon such one, and bring me into judgment with thee? |
| Job 14:4 | Who giveth a clean thing out of an unclean? not one. | Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one. | Who can make him clean that is conceived of unclean seed ? is it not thou who only art? | Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one. |
| Job 14:5 | If determined are his days, The number of his months [are] with Thee, His limit Thou hast made, And he passeth not over; | Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass; | The days of man are short, and the number of his months is with thee: thou hast appointed his bounds which cannot be passed. | Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months is with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass; |
| Job 14:6 | Look away from off him that he may cease, Till he enjoy as an hireling his day. | Turn from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as an hireling, his day. | Depart a little from him, that he may rest, until his wished for day come, as that of the hireling. | Turn from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as a hireling, his day. |
| Job 14:7 | For there is of a tree hope, if it be cut down, That again it doth change, That its tender branch doth not cease. | For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. | A tree hath hope: if it be cut, it groweth green again, and the boughs thereof sprout. | For there is hope of a tree, if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its tender branch will not cease. |
| Job 14:8 | If its root becometh old in the earth, And its stem doth die in the dust, | Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground; | If its root be old in the earth, and its stock be dead in the dust: | Though its root shall become old in the earth, and its stock die in the ground; |
| Job 14:9 | From the fragrance of water it doth flourish, And hath made a crop as a plant. | Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant. | At the scent of water, it shall spring, and bring forth leaves, as when it was first planted. | Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant. |
| Job 14:10 | And a man dieth, and becometh weak, And man expireth, and where [is] he? | But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he? | But man when he shall be dead, and stripped and consumed, I pray you where is he? | But man dieth, and wasteth away: yes, man yieldeth his breath, and where is he? |
| Job 14:11 | Waters have gone away from a sea, And a river becometh waste and dry. | As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up: | As if the waters should depart out of the sea, and an emptied river should be dried up: | As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up: |
| Job 14:12 | And man hath lain down, and riseth not, Till the wearing out of the heavens they awake not, Nor are roused from their sleep. | So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep. | So man when he is fallen asleep shall not rise again; till the heavens be broken, he shall not awake, nor rise up out of his sleep. | So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens shall be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep. |
| Job 14:13 | O that in Sheol Thou wouldst conceal me, Hide me till the turning of Thine anger, Set for me a limit, and remember me. | O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me! | Who will grant me this, that thou mayest protect me in hell, and hide me till thy wrath pass, and appoint me a. time when thou wilt remember me? | O that thou wouldst hide me in the grave, that thou wouldst keep me secret, until thy wrath is past, that thou wouldst appoint me a set time, and remember me! |
| Job 14:14 | If a man dieth doth he revive? All days of my warfare I wait, till my change come. | If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. | Shall man that is dead, thinkest thou, live again? all the days in which I am now in warfare, I expect until my change come. | If a man dieth, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change shall come. |
| Job 14:15 | Thou dost call, and I I answer Thee; To the work of Thy hands Thou hast desire. | Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands. | Thou shalt call me, and I will answer thee: to the work of thy hands thou shalt reach out thy right hand. | Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thy hands. |
| Job 14:16 | But now, my steps Thou numberest, Thou dost not watch over my sin. | For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin? | Thou indeed hast numbered my steps, but spare my sins. | For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin? |
| Job 14:17 | Sealed up in a bag [is] my transgression, And Thou sewest up mine iniquity. | My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity. | Thou hast sealed up my offences as it were in a bag, but hast cured my iniquity. | My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up my iniquity. |
| Job 14:18 | And yet, a falling mountain wasteth away, And a rock is removed from its place. | And surely the mountain falling cometh to nought, and the rock is removed out of his place. | A mountain falling cometh to nought, and a rock is removed out of its place. | And surely the mountain falling cometh to naught, and the rock is removed out of its place. |
| Job 14:19 | Stones have waters worn away, Their outpourings wash away the dust of earth, And the hope of man Thou hast destroyed. | The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope of man. | Waters wear away the stones, and with inundation the ground by little and little is washed away: so in like manner thou shalt destroy man. | The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope of man. |
| Job 14:20 | Thou prevailest [over] him for ever, and he goeth, He is changing his countenance, And Thou sendest him away. | Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away. | Thou hast strengthened him for a little while, that he may pass away for ever: thou shalt change his face, and shalt send him away. | Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away. |
| Job 14:21 | Honoured are his sons, and he knoweth not; And they are little, and he attendeth not to them. | His sons come to honour, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not of them. | Whether his children come to honour or dishonour, he shall not understand. | His sons come to honor, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not of them. |
| Job 14:22 | Only his flesh for him is pained, And his soul for him doth mourn.` | But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn. | But yet his flesh, while he shall live, shall have pain, and his soul shall mourn over him. | But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn. |
