| Psalms 72:1 | By Solomon. O God, Thy judgments to the king give, And Thy righteousness to the king`s son. | Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king's son. | | A psalm for Asaph. How good is God to Israel, to them that are of a right heart! |
| Psalms 72:2 | He judgeth Thy people with righteousness, And Thy poor with judgment. | He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment. | | But my feet were almost moved; my steps had well nigh slipped. |
| Psalms 72:3 | The mountains bear peace to the people, And the heights by righteousness. | The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness. | | Because I had a zeal on occasion of the wicked, seeing the prosperity of sinners. |
| Psalms 72:4 | He judgeth the poor of the people, Giveth deliverance to the sons of the needy, And bruiseth the oppressor. | He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor. | | For there is no regard to their death, nor is there strength in their stripes. |
| Psalms 72:5 | They fear Thee with the sun, and before the moon, Generation generations. | They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations. | | They are not in the labour of men: neither shall they be scourged like other men. B Therefore pride hath held them fast: they are covered with their iniquity and their wickedness. |
| Psalms 72:6 | He cometh down as rain on mown grass, As showers sprinkling the earth. | He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth. | | Their iniquity hath come forth, as it were from fatness: they have passed into the affection of the heart. |
| Psalms 72:7 | Flourish in his days doth the righteous, And abundance of peace till the moon is not. | In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth. | | They have thought and spoken wickedness: they have spoken iniquity on high. |
| Psalms 72:8 | And he ruleth from sea unto sea, And from the river unto the ends of earth. | He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth. | | They have set their mouth against heaven: and their tongue hath passed through the earth. |
| Psalms 72:9 | Before him bow do the inhabitants of the dry places, And his enemies lick the dust. | They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust. | | Therefore will my people return here and full days shall be found in them. |
| Psalms 72:10 | Kings of Tarshish and of the isles send back a present. Kings of Sheba and Seba a reward bring near. | The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts. | | And they said: How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High? |
| Psalms 72:11 | And all kings do bow themselves to him, All nations do serve him, | Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him. | | Behold these are sinners; and yet abounding in the world they have obtained riches. |
| Psalms 72:12 | For he delivereth the needy who crieth, And the poor when he hath no helper, | For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper. | | And I said: Then have I in vain justified my heart, and washed my hands among the innocent. |
| Psalms 72:13 | He hath pity on the poor and needy, And the souls of the needy he saveth, | He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy. | | And I have been scourged all the day; and my chastisement hath been in the mornings. |
| Psalms 72:14 | From fraud and from violence he redeemeth their soul, And precious is their blood in his eyes. | He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight. | | If I said: I will speak thus; behold I should condemn the generation of thy children. |
| Psalms 72:15 | And he liveth, and giveth to him of the gold of Sheba, And prayeth for him continually, All the day he doth bless him. | And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised. | | I studied that I might know this thing, it is a labour in my sight: |
| Psalms 72:16 | There is a handful of corn in the earth, On the top of mountains, Shake like Lebanon doth its fruit, And they flourish out of the city as the herb of the earth. | There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth. | | Until I go into the sanctuary of God, and understand concerning their last ends. |
| Psalms 72:17 | His name is to the age, Before the sun is his name continued, And they bless themselves in him, All nations do pronounce him happy. | His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed. | | But indeed for deceits thou hast put it to them: when they were lifted up thou hast cast them down. |
| Psalms 72:18 | Blessed is Jehovah God, God of Israel, He alone is doing wonders, | Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things. | | How are they brought to desolation? they have suddenly ceased to be: they have perished by reason of their iniquity. |
| Psalms 72:19 | And blessed [is] the Name of His honour to the age, And the whole earth is filled [with] His honour. Amen, and amen! | And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen. | | As the dream of them that awake, O Lord; so in thy city thou shalt bring their image to nothing. |
| Psalms 72:20 | The prayers of David son of Jesse have been ended. | The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended. | | For my heart hath been inflamed, and my reins have been changed: |
