| Psalms 42:1 | To the Overseer. An Instruction. By sons of Korah. As a hart doth pant for streams of water, So my soul panteth toward Thee, O God. | | A psalm for David. Judge me, O God, and distinguish my cause from the nation that is not holy : deliver me from the unjust and deceitful man. | To the chief Musician, Maschil, for the sons of Korah. As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so my soul panteth after thee, O God. |
| Psalms 42:2 | My soul thirsted for God, for the living God, When do I enter and see the face of God? | | For thou art God my strength : why hast thou cast me off? and why do I go sorrowful whilst the enemy afflicteth me? | My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? |
