Job 40:1And Jehovah doth answer Job, and saith:Moreover Yahweh answered Job,And the Lord answering Job out of the whirlwind, said :Moreover, the LORD answered Job, and said,
Job 40:2Is the striver with the Mighty instructed? The reprover of God, let him answer it."Shall he who argues contend with the Almighty? He who argues with God, let him answer it."Gird up thy loins like a man : I will ask thee, and do thou tell me.Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
Job 40:3And Job answereth Jehovah, and saith:Then Job answered Yahweh,Wilt thou make void my judgment : and condemn me, that thou mayst be justified? Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
Job 40:4Lo, I have been vile, What do I return to Thee? My hand I have placed on my mouth."Behold, I am of small account. What shall I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth. And hast thou an arm like God, and canst thou thunder with a voice like him?Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay my hand upon my mouth.
Job 40:5Once I have spoken, and I answer not, And twice, and I add not.I have spoken once, and I will not answer; Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further."Clothe thyself with beauty, and set thyself up on high and be glorious, and put on goodly garments.Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yes, twice; but I will proceed no further.
Job 40:6And Jehovah answereth Job out of the whirlwind, and saith:Then Yahweh answered Job out of the whirlwind,Scatter the proud in thy indignation, and behold every arrogant man, and humble him. Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
Job 40:7Gird, I pray thee, as a man, thy loins, I ask thee, and cause thou Me to know."Now brace yourself like a man. I will question you, and you will answer me.Look on all that are proud, and confound them, and crush the wicked in their place.Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou to me.
Job 40:8Dost thou also make void My judgment? Dost thou condemn Me, That thou mayest be righteous? Will you even annul my judgment? Will you condemn me, that you may be justified?Hide them in the dust together, and plunge their faces into the pit.Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
Job 40:9And an arm like God hast thou? And with a voice like Him dost thou thunder?Or have you an arm like God? Can you thunder with a voice like him? Then I will confess that thy right hand is able to save thee.Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like his?
Job 40:10Put on, I pray thee, excellency and loftiness, Yea, honour and beauty put on."Now deck yourself with excellency and dignity. Array yourself with honor and majesty.Behold behemoth whom I made with thee, he eateth grass like an ox.Deck thyself now with majesty and excellence; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
Job 40:11Scatter abroad the wrath of thine anger, And see every proud one, and make him low.Pour forth the fury of your anger. Look on everyone who is proud, and bring him low.His strength is in his loins, and his force in the navel of his belly.Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.
Job 40:12See every proud one humble him, And tread down the wicked in their place.Look on everyone who is proud, and humble him. Crush the wicked in their place. He setteth up his tail like a cedar, the sinews of his testicles are wrapped together.Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
Job 40:13Hide them in the dust together, Their faces bind in secret.Hide them in the dust together. Bind their faces in the hidden place. His bones are like pipes of brass, his gristle like plates of iron.Hide them in the dust together; bind their faces in secret.
Job 40:14And even I I do praise thee, For thy right hand giveth salvation to thee. Then I will also admit to you That your own right hand can save you.He is the beginning of the ways of God, who made him, he will apply his sword. Then will I also confess to thee that thy own right hand can save thee.
Job 40:15Lo, I pray thee, Behemoth, that I made with thee: Grass as an ox he eateth."See now, behemoth, which I made as well as you. He eats grass as an ox.To him the mountains bring forth grass : there all the beasts of the field shall play.Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
Job 40:16Lo, I pray thee, his power [is] in his loins, And his strength in the muscles of his belly.Look now, his strength is in his loins, His force is in the muscles of his belly. He sleepeth under the shadow, in the covert of the reed, and in moist places.Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
Job 40:17He doth bend his tail as a cedar, The sinews of his thighs are wrapped together,He moves his tail like a cedar: The sinews of his thighs are knit together. The shades cover his shadow, the willows of the brook shall compass him about. He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his male organs are wrapped together.
Job 40:18His bones [are] tubes of brass, His bones [are] as a bar of iron. His bones are like tubes of brass. His limbs are like bars of iron.Behold, he will drink up a river, and not wonder : and he trusteth that the Jordan may run into his mouth. His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
Job 40:19He [is] a beginning of the ways of God, His Maker bringeth nigh his sword; He is the chief of the ways of God. He who made him gives him his sword. In his eyes as with a hook he shall take him, and bore through his nostrils with stakes. He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach him.
Job 40:20For food do mountains bear for him, And all the beasts of the field play there.Surely the mountains bring him forth food, Where all the animals of the field do play.Canst thou draw out the leviathan with a hook, or canst thou tie his tongue with a cord?Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
Job 40:21Under shades he lieth down, In a secret place of reed and mire.He lies under the lotus-trees, In the covert of the reed, and the marsh.Canst thou put a ring in his nose, or bore through his jaw with a buckle? He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
Job 40:22Cover him do shades, [with] their shadow, Cover him do willows of the brook. The lotuses cover him with their shade. The willows of the brook surround him. Will he make many supplications to thee, or speak soft words to thee? The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook encompass him.
Job 40:23Lo, a flood oppresseth he doth not haste, He is confident though Jordan Doth come forth unto his mouth.Behold, if a river overflows, he doesn't tremble. He is confident, though the Jordan swells even to his mouth. Will he make a covenant with thee, and wilt thou take him to be a servant for ever?Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
Job 40:24Before his eyes doth [one] take him, With snares doth [one] pierce the nose?Shall any take him when he is on the watch, Or pierce through his nose with a snare?Shalt thou play with him as with a bird, or tie him up for thy handmaids? He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
