Leviticus 23:1 | And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, | And the Lord said to Moses, | And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: |
Leviticus 23:2 | Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, The set feasts of Jehovah, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my set feasts. | Say to the children of Israel, These are the fixed feasts of the Lord, which you will keep for holy meetings: these are my feasts. | Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them: These are the feasts of the Lord, which you shall call holy. |
Leviticus 23:3 | Six days shall work be done: but on the seventh day is a sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation; ye shall do no manner of work: it is a sabbath unto Jehovah in all your dwellings. | On six days work may be done; but the seventh day is a special day of rest, a time for worship; you may do no sort of work: it is a Sabbath to the Lord wherever you may be living. | Six days shall ye do work: the seventh day, because it is the rest of the sabbath, shall be called holy. You shall do no work on that day: it is the sabbath of the Lord in all your habitations. |
Leviticus 23:4 | These are the set feasts of Jehovah, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their appointed season. | These are the fixed feasts of the Lord, the holy days of worship which you will keep at their regular times. | These also are the holy days of the Lord, which you must celebrate in their seasons. |
Leviticus 23:5 | In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, is Jehovah's passover. | In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at nightfall, is the Lord's Passover; | The first month, the fourteenth day of the month at evening, is the phase of the Lord: |
Leviticus 23:6 | And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto Jehovah: seven days ye shall eat unleavened bread. | And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread; for seven days let your food be unleavened bread. | And the fifteenth day of the same month is the solemnity of the unleavened bread of the Lord. Seven days shall you eat unleavened bread. |
Leviticus 23:7 | In the first day ye shall have a holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work. | On the first day you will have a holy meeting; you may do no sort of field-work. | The first day shall be most solemn unto you, and holy: you shall do no servile work therein: |
Leviticus 23:8 | But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Jehovah seven days: in the seventh day is a holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work. | And every day for seven days you will give a burned offering to the Lord; and on the seventh day there will be a holy meeting; you may do no field-work. | But you shall offer sacrifice in fire to the Lord seven days. And the seventh day shall be more solemn, and more holy: and you shall do no servile work therein. |
Leviticus 23:9 | And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, | And the Lord said to Moses, | And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: |
Leviticus 23:10 | Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye are come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring the sheaf of the first-fruits of your harvest unto the priest: | Say to the children of Israel, When you have come to the land which I will give you, and have got in the grain from its fields, take some of the first-fruits of the grain to the priest; | Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them: When you shall have entered into the land which I will give you, and shall reap your corn, you shall bring sheaves of ears, the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest: |
Leviticus 23:11 | and he shall wave the sheaf before Jehovah, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it. | And let the grain be waved before the Lord, so that you may be pleasing to him; on the day after the Sabbath let it be waved by the priest. | Who shall lift up the shed before the Lord, the next day after the sabbath, that it may be acceptable for you, and shall sanctify it. |
Leviticus 23:12 | And in the day when ye wave the sheaf, ye shall offer a he-lamb without blemish a year old for a burnt-offering unto Jehovah. | And on the day of the waving of the grain, you are to give a male lamb of the first year, without any mark, for a burned offering to the Lord. | And on the same day that the sheaf is consecrated, a lamb without blemish of the first year shall be killed for a holocaust of the Lord. |
Leviticus 23:13 | And the meal-offering thereof shall be two tenth parts [of an ephah] of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire unto Jehovah for a sweet savor; and the drink-offering thereof shall be of wine, the fourth part of a hin. | And let the meal offering with it be two tenth parts of an ephah of the best meal mixed with oil, an offering made by fire to the Lord for a sweet smell; and the drink offering with it is to be of wine, the fourth part of a hin. | And the libations shall be offered with it, two tenths of hour tempered with oil for a burnt offering of the Lord, and a most sweet odour: libations also of wine, the fourth part of a hin. |
Leviticus 23:14 | And ye shall eat neither bread, nor parched grain, nor fresh ears, until this selfsame day, until ye have brought the oblation of your God: it is a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. | And you may take no bread or dry grain or new grain for food till the very day on which you have given the offering for your God: this is a rule for ever through all your generations wherever you are living. | You shall not eat either bread, or parched corn, or frumenty of the harvest, until the day that you shall offer thereof to your God. It is a precept for ever throughout your generations, and all your dwellings. |
Leviticus 23:15 | And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave-offering; seven sabbaths shall there be complete: | And let seven full weeks be numbered from the day after the Sabbath, the day when you give the grain for the wave offering; | You shall count therefore from the morrow after the sabbath, wherein you offered the sheaf of the firstfruits, seven full weeks. |
Leviticus 23:16 | even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meal-offering unto Jehovah. | Let fifty days be numbered, to the day after the seventh Sabbath; then you are to give a new meal offering to the Lord. | Even unto the marrow after the seventh week be expired, that is to say, fifty days, and so you shall offer a new sacrifice to the Lord. |
Leviticus 23:17 | Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave-loaves of two tenth parts [of an ephah]: they shall be of fine flour, they shall be baken with leaven, for first-fruits unto Jehovah. | Take from your houses two cakes of bread, made of a fifth part of an ephah of the best meal, cooked with leaven, to be waved for first-fruits to the Lord. | Out of all your dwellings, two leaves of the firstfruits, of two tenths of flour leavened, which you shall bake for the firstfruits of the Lord. |
Leviticus 23:18 | And ye shall present with the bread seven lambs without blemish a year old, and one young bullock, and two rams: they shall be a burnt-offering unto Jehovah, with their meal-offering, and their drink-offerings, even an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto Jehovah. | And with the bread, take seven lambs of the first year, without any marks, and one ox and two male sheep, to be a burned offering to the Lord, with their meal offering and their drink offerings, an offering of a sweet smell made by fire to the Lord. | And you shall offer with the leaves seven lambs without blemish of the first year, and one calf from the herd, and two rams, and they shall be for a holocaust with their libations far a most sweet odour to the Lord. |
Leviticus 23:19 | And ye shall offer one he-goat for a sin-offering, and two he-lambs a year old for a sacrifice of peace-offerings. | And you are to give one male goat for a sin-offering and two male lambs of the first year for peace-offerings. | You shall offer also a buck goat for sin, and two lambs of the first year for sacrifices of peace offerings. |
Leviticus 23:20 | And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the first-fruits for a wave-offering before Jehovah, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to Jehovah for the priest. | And these will be waved by the priest, with the bread of the first-fruits, for a wave offering to the Lord, with the two lambs: they will be holy to the Lord for the priest. | And when the priest hath lifted them up with the leaves of the firstfruits before the Lord, they shall fall to his use. |
Leviticus 23:21 | And ye shall make proclamation on the selfsame day; there shall be a holy convocation unto you; ye shall do no servile work: it is a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations. | And on the same day, let it be given out that there will be a holy meeting for you: you may do no field-work on that day: it is a rule for ever through all your generations wherever you are living. | And you shall call this day most solemn, and most holy. You shall do no servile work therein. It shall be an everlasting ordinance in all your dwellings and generations. |
Leviticus 23:22 | And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them for the poor, and for the sojourner: I am Jehovah your God. | And when you get in the grain from your land, do not let all the grain at the edges of the field be cut, and do not take up the grain which has been dropped in the field; let that be for the poor, and for the man from another country: I am the Lord your God. | And when you reap the corn of your land, you shall not cut it to the very ground: neither shall you gather the ears that remain; but you shall leave them for the poor and for the strangers. I am the Lord your God. |
Leviticus 23:23 | And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, | And the Lord said to Moses, | And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: |
Leviticus 23:24 | Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, shall be a solemn rest unto you, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. | Say to the children of Israel, In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, let there be a special day of rest for you, a day of memory, marked by the blowing of horns, a meeting for worship. | Say to the children of Israel: The seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall keep a sabbath, a memorial, with she sound of trumpets, and it shall be called holy. |
Leviticus 23:25 | Ye shall do no servile work; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Jehovah. | Do no field-work and give to the Lord an offering made by fire. | You shall do no servile work therein, and you shall offer a holocaust to the Lord. |
Leviticus 23:26 | And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, | And the Lord said to Moses, | And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: |
Leviticus 23:27 | Howbeit on the tenth day of this seventh month is the day of atonement: it shall be a holy convocation unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Jehovah. | The tenth day of this seventh month is the day for the taking away of sin; let it be a holy day of worship; you are to keep from pleasure, and give to the Lord an offering made by fire. | Upon the tenth day of this seventh month shall be the day of atonement, it shall be most solemn, and shall be called holy: and you shall afflict your souls on that day, and shall offer a holocaust to the Lord. |
Leviticus 23:28 | And ye shall do no manner of work in that same day; for it is a day of atonement, to make atonement for you before Jehovah your God. | And on that day you may do no sort of work, for it is a day of taking away sin, to make you clean before the Lord your God. | You shall do no servile work in the time of this day: because it is a day of propitiation, that the Lord your God may be merciful unto you. |
Leviticus 23:29 | For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day; he shall be cut off from his people. | For any person, whoever he may be, who takes his pleasure on that day will be cut off from his people. | Every soul that is not afflicted on this day, shall perish from among his people: |
Leviticus 23:30 | And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any manner of work in that same day, that soul will I destroy from among his people. | And if any person, whoever he may be, on that day does any sort of work, I will send destruction on him from among his people. | And every soul that shall do any work, the same will I destroy from among his people. |
Leviticus 23:31 | Ye shall do no manner of work: it is a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. | You may not do any sort of work: this is an order for ever through all your generations wherever you may be living. | You shall do no work therefore on that day: it shall be an everlasting ordinance unto you in all your generations, and dwellings. |
Leviticus 23:32 | It shall be unto you a sabbath of solemn rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye keep your sabbath. | Let this be a Sabbath of special rest to you, and keep yourselves from all pleasure; on the ninth day of the month at nightfall from evening to evening, let this Sabbath be kept. | It is a sabbath of rest, and you shell afflict your souls beginning on the ninth day of the month: from evening until evening you shall celebrate your sabbaths. |

Leviticus 23:34 | Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto Jehovah. | Say to the children of Israel, On the fifteenth day of this seventh month let the feast of tents be kept to the Lord for seven days. | Say to the children of Israel: From the fifteenth day of this same seventh month, shall be kept the feast of tabernacles seven days to the Lord. |
Leviticus 23:35 | On the first day shall be a holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work. | On the first day there will be a holy meeting: do no field-work. | The first day shall be called most solemn and most holy: you shall do no servile work therein. And seven days you shall offer holocausts to the Lord. |
Leviticus 23:36 | Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Jehovah: on the eighth day shall be a holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Jehovah: it is a solemn assembly; ye shall do no servile work. | Every day for seven days give an offering made by fire to the Lord; and on the eighth day there is to be a holy meeting, when you are to give an offering made by fire to the Lord; this is a special holy day: you may do no field-work on that day. | The eighth day also shall be most solemn and most holy, and you shall offer holocausts to the Lord: for it is the day of assembly and congregation: you shall do no servile work therein. |
Leviticus 23:37 | These are the set feasts of Jehovah, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto Jehovah, a burnt-offering, and a meal-offering, a sacrifice, and drink-offerings, each on its own day; | These are the fixed feasts of the Lord, to be kept by you as holy days of worship, for making an offering by fire to the Lord; a burned offering, a meal offering, an offering of beasts, and drink offerings; every one on its special day; | These are the feasts of the Lord, which you shall call most solemn and most holy, and shall offer on them oblations to the Lord, holocausts and libations according to the rite of every day, |
Leviticus 23:38 | besides the sabbaths of Jehovah, and besides your gifts, and besides all your vows, and besides all your freewill-offerings, which ye give unto Jehovah. | In addition to the Sabbaths of the Lord, and in addition to the things you give and the oaths you make and the free offerings to the Lord. | Besides the sabbaths of the Lord, and your gifts, and those things that you offer by vow, or which you shall give to the Lord voluntarily. |
Leviticus 23:39 | Howbeit on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruits of the land, ye shall keep the feast of Jehovah seven days: on the first day shall be a solemn rest, and on the eighth day shall be a solemn rest. | But on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have got in all the fruits of the land, you will keep the feast of the Lord for seven days: the first day will be a Sabbath, and the eighth day the same. | So from the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you shall have gathered in all the fruits of your land, you shall celebrate the feast of the Lord seven days: on the first day and the eighth shall be a sabbath, that is a day of rest. |
Leviticus 23:40 | And ye shall take you on the first day the fruit of goodly trees, branches of palm-trees, and boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before Jehovah your God seven days. | On the first day, take the fruit of fair trees, branches of palm-trees, and branches of thick trees and trees from the riverside, and be glad before the Lord for seven days. | And you shall take to you on the first day the fruits of the fairest tree, and branches of palm trees, and boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God. |

It shall be an everlasting ordinance in your generations. In the seventh month shall you celebrate this feast. |
Leviticus 23:42 | Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are home-born in Israel shall dwell in booths; | For seven days you will be living in tents; all those who are Israelites by birth are to make tents their living-places: | And you shall dwell in bowers seven days: every one that is of the race of Israel, shall dwell in tabernacles: |
Leviticus 23:43 | that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am Jehovah your God. | So that future generations may keep in mind how I gave the children of Israel tents as their living-places when I took them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God. | That your posterity may know, that I made the children of Israel to dwell in tabernacles, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God. |
Leviticus 23:44 | And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the set feasts of Jehovah. | And Moses made clear to the children of Israel the orders about the fixed feasts of the Lord. | And Moses spoke concerning the feasts of the Lord to the children of Israel. |
