| James 2:3 | and ye have regard to him that weareth the fine clothing, and say, Sit thou here in a good place; and ye say to the poor man, Stand thou there, or sit under my footstool; | And you do honour to the man in fair clothing and say, Come here and take this good place; and you say to the poor man, Take up your position there, or be seated at my feet; | and ye may look upon him bearing the gay raiment, and may say to him, `Thou sit thou here well,` and to the poor man may say, `Thou stand thou there, or, Sit thou here under my footstool,` |
| James 2:4 | Do ye not make distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts? | Is there not a division in your minds? have you not become judges with evil thoughts? | ye did not judge fully in yourselves, and did become ill-reasoning judges. |
| James 2:5 | Hearken, my beloved brethren; did not God choose them that are poor as to the world [to be] rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to them that love him? | Give ear, my dear brothers; are not those who are poor in the things of this world marked out by God to have faith as their wealth, and for their heritage the kingdom which he has said he will give to those who have love for him? | Hearken, my brethren beloved, did not God choose the poor of this world, rich in faith, and heirs of the reign that He promised to those loving Him? |
| James 2:6 | But ye have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you, and themselves drag you before the judgment-seats? | But you have put the poor man to shame. Are not the men of wealth rulers over you? do they not take you by force before their judges? | and ye did dishonour the poor one; do not the rich oppress you and themselves draw you to judgment-seats; |
| James 2:7 | Do not they blaspheme the honorable name by which ye are called? | Do they not say evil of the holy name which was given to you? | do they not themselves speak evil of the good name that was called upon you? |

| James 2:14 | What doth it profit, my brethren, if a man say he hath faith, but have not works? can that faith save him? | What use is it, my brothers, for a man to say that he has faith, if he does nothing? will such a faith give him salvation? | What [is] the profit, my brethren, if faith, any one may speak of having, and works he may not have? is that faith able to save him? |
| James 2:15 | If a brother or sister be naked and in lack of daily food, | If a brother or a sister is without clothing and in need of the day's food, | and if a brother or sister may be naked, and may be destitute of the daily food, |
| James 2:16 | and one of you say unto them, Go in peace, be ye warmed and filled; and yet ye give them not the things needful to the body; what doth it profit? | And one of you says to them, Go in peace, be warm and full of food; but you do not give them the things of which their bodies have need, what profit is there in this? | and any one of you may say to them, `Depart ye in peace, be warmed, and be filled,` and may not give to them the things needful for the body, what [is] the profit? |
| James 2:17 | Even so faith, if it have not works, is dead in itself. | Even so faith without works is dead. | so also the faith, if it may not have works, is dead by itself. |

| James 2:20 | But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith apart from works is barren? | Do you not see, O foolish man, that faith without works is of no use? | And dost thou wish to know, O vain man, that the faith apart from the works is dead? |
| James 2:21 | Was not Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son upon the altar? | Was not the righteousness of Abraham our father judged by his works, when he made an offering of Isaac his son on the altar? | Abraham our father was not he declared righteous out of works, having brought up Isaac his son upon the altar? |
| James 2:22 | Thou seest that faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect; | You see that his faith was helping his works and was made complete by them; | dost thou see that the faith was working with his works, and out of the works the faith was perfected? |
