Luke 17:1And he said unto his disciples, It is impossible but that occasions of stumbling should come; but woe unto him, through whom they come! And he said to his disciples, It is necessary for causes of trouble to come about, but unhappy is he by whom they come.And he said unto the disciples, `It is impossible for the stumbling blocks not to come, but wo [to him] through whom they come;
Luke 17:2It were well for him if a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble. It would be well for him if a great stone was put round his neck and he was dropped into the sea, before he made trouble for any of these little ones.it is more profitable to him if a weighty millstone is put round about his neck, and he hath been cast into the sea, than that he may cause one of these little ones to stumble.
Luke 17:3Take heed to yourselves: if thy brother sin, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. Give attention to yourselves: if your brother does wrong, say a sharp word to him; and if he has sorrow for his sin, let him have forgiveness.`Take heed to yourselves, and, if thy brother may sin in regard to thee, rebuke him, and if he may reform, forgive him,
Luke 17:4And if he sin against thee seven times in the day, and seven times turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. And if he does you wrong seven times in a day, and seven times comes to you and says, I have regret for what I have done; let him have forgiveness.and if seven times in the day he may sin against thee, and seven times in the day may turn back to thee, saying, I reform; thou shalt forgive him.`
Luke 17:5And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. And the twelve said to the Lord, Make our faith greater.And the apostles said to the Lord, `Add to us faith;`
Luke 17:6And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye would say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou rooted up, and be thou planted in the sea; and it would obey you. And the Lord said, If your faith was only as great as a grain of mustard seed, you might say to this tree, Be rooted up and planted in the sea; and it would be done.and the Lord said, `If ye had faith as a grain of mustard, ye would have said to this sycamine, Be uprooted, and be planted in the sea, and it would have obeyed you.
Luke 17:7But who is there of you, having a servant plowing or keeping sheep, that will say unto him, when he is come in from the field, Come straightway and sit down to meat; But which of you, having a servant who is ploughing or keeping sheep, will say to him, when he comes in from the field, Come now and be seated and have a meal,`But, who is he of you having a servant ploughing or feeding who, to him having come in out of the field, will say, Having come near, recline at meat?
Luke 17:8and will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink? Will he not say, Get a meal for me, and make yourself ready and see to my needs till I have had my food and drink; and after that you may have yours?but will not [rather] say to him, Prepare what I may sup, and having girded thyself about, minister to me, till I eat and drink, and after these things thou shalt eat and drink?
Luke 17:9Doth he thank the servant because he did the things that were commanded? Does he give praise to the servant because he did what was ordered?Hath he favour to that servant because he did the things directed? I think not.
Luke 17:10Even so ye also, when ye shall have done all the things that are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants; we have done that which it was our duty to do. In the same way, when you have done all the things which are given you to do, say, There is no profit in us, for we have only done what we were ordered to do.`So also ye, when ye may have done all the things directed you, say We are unprofitable servants, because that which we owed to do we have done.`
Luke 17:11And it came to pass, as they were on their way to Jerusalem, that he was passing along the borders of Samaria and Galilee. And it came about that when they were on the way to Jerusalem he went through Samaria and Galilee.And it came to pass, in his going on to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee,
Luke 17:12And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, who stood afar off: And when he went into a certain small town he came across ten men who were lepers, and they, keeping themselves at a distance,and he entering into a certain village, there met him ten leprous men, who stood afar off,
Luke 17:13and they lifted up their voices, saying, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. Said, in loud voices, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.and they lifted up the voice, saying, `Jesus, master, deal kindly with us;`
Luke 17:14And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go and show yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, as they went, they were cleansed. And when he saw them he said, Go, and let the priests see you. And, while they were going, they were made clean.and having seen [them], he said to them, `Having gone on, shew yourselves to the priests;` and it came to pass, in their going, they were cleansed,
Luke 17:15And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, with a loud voice glorifying God; And one of them, when he saw that he was clean, turning back, gave praise to God in a loud voice;and one of them having seen that he was healed did turn back, with a loud voice glorifying God,
Luke 17:16and he fell upon his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. And, falling down on his face at the feet of Jesus, he gave the credit to him; and he was a man of Samaria.and he fell upon [his] face at his feet, giving thanks to him, and he was a Samaritan.
Luke 17:17And Jesus answering said, Were not the ten cleansed? but where are the nine? And Jesus said, Were there not ten men who were made clean? where are the nine?And Jesus answering said, `Were not the ten cleansed, and the nine where?
Luke 17:18Were there none found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger? Have not any of them come back to give glory to God, but only this one from a strange land?There were not found who did turn back to give glory to God, except this alien;`
Luke 17:19And he said unto him, Arise, and go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole. And he said to him, Get up, and go on your way; your faith has made you well.and he said to him, `Having risen, be going on, thy faith hath saved thee.`
Luke 17:20And being asked by the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God cometh, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: And when the Pharisees put questions to him about when the kingdom of God would come, he gave them an answer and said, The kingdom of God will not come through observation:And having been questioned by the Pharisees, when the reign of God doth come, he answered them, and said, `The reign of God doth not come with observation;
Luke 17:21neither shall they say, Lo, here! or, There! for lo, the kingdom of God is within you. And men will not say, See, it is here! or, There! for the kingdom of God is among you.nor shall they say, Lo, here; or lo, there; for lo, the reign of God is within you.`
Luke 17:22And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it. And he said to his disciples, The time will come when you will have a great desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, but you will not see it.And he said unto his disciples, `Days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and ye shall not behold [it];
Luke 17:23And they shall say to you, Lo, there! Lo, here! go not away, nor follow after [them]: And if they say to you, See, it is there! or, It is here! do not go away, or go after them.and they shall say to you, Lo, here; or lo, there; ye may not go away, nor follow;
Luke 17:24for as the lightning, when it lighteneth out of the one part under the heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall the Son of man be in his day. For as in a thunderstorm the bright light is seen from one end of the sky to the other, so will the Son of man be when his time comes.for as the lightning that is lightening out of the one [part] under heaven, to the other part under heaven doth shine, so shall be also the Son of Man in his day;
Luke 17:25But first must he suffer many things and be rejected of this generation. But first, he will have to undergo much and be put on one side by this generation.and first it behoveth him to suffer many things, and to be rejected by this generation.
Luke 17:26And as it came to pass in the days of Noah, even so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. And as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the day of the Son of man.`And, as it came to pass in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of Man;
Luke 17:27They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. They were feasting and taking wives and getting married, till the day of the overflowing of the waters, when Noah went into the ark, and they all came to destruction.they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were given in marriage, till the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the deluge came, and destroyed all;
Luke 17:28Likewise even as it came to pass in the days of Lot; they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; In the same way, in the days of Lot; they were feasting and trading, they were planting and building;in like manner also, as it came to pass in the days of Lot; they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building;
Luke 17:29but in the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all: But on the day when Lot went out of Sodom, fire came down from heaven and destruction came on them all.and on the day Lot went forth from Sodom, He rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed all.
Luke 17:30after the same manner shall it be in the day that the Son of man is revealed. So will it be in the day of the revelation of the Son of man.`According to these things it shall be, in the day the Son of Man is revealed;
Luke 17:31In that day, he that shall be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away: and let him that is in the field likewise not return back. On that day, if anyone is on the roof of the house, and his goods are in the house, let him not go down to take them away; and let him who is in the field not go back to his house.in that day, he who shall be on the house top, and his vessels in the house, let him not come down to take them away; and he in the field, in like manner, let him not turn backward;
Luke 17:32Remember Lot's wife. Keep in mind Lot's wife.remember the wife of Lot.
Luke 17:33Whosoever shall seek to gain his life shall lose it: but whosoever shall lose [his life] shall preserve it. If anyone makes an attempt to keep his life, it will be taken from him, but if anyone gives up his life, he will keep it.Whoever may seek to save his life, shall lose it; and whoever may lose it, shall preserve it.
Luke 17:34I say unto you, In that night there shall be two men on one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. I say to you, In that night there will be two men sleeping in one bed, and one will be taken away and the other let go.`I say to you, In that night, there shall be two men on one couch, the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left;
Luke 17:35There shall be two women grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. Two women will be crushing grain together; one will be taken away and the other let go.two women shall be grinding at the same place together, the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left;
Luke 17:36[There shall be two men in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.] []two men shall be in the field, the one shall be taken, and the other left.`
Luke 17:37And they answering say unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Where the body [is], thither will the eagles also be gathered together. And they, answering him, said, Where, Lord? And he said to them, Where the body is, there will the eagles come together.And they answering say to him, `Where, sir?` and he said to them, `Where the body [is], there will the eagles be gathered together.`
