Leviticus 22:1 | And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, | And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, | And the Lord said to Moses, |
Leviticus 22:2 | Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, which they hallow unto me, and that they profane not my holy name: I am Jehovah. | Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, and that they profane not my holy name in the things that they hallow unto me: I am Jehovah. | Give orders to Aaron and to his sons to keep themselves separate from the holy things of the children of Israel which they give to me, and not to make my holy name common: I am the Lord, |
Leviticus 22:3 | Say unto them, Whosoever he be of all your seed throughout your generations, that approacheth unto the holy things, which the children of Israel hallow unto Jehovah, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from before me: I am Jehovah. | Say unto them, Every one of all your seed, throughout your generations, that approacheth the holy things, which the children of Israel hallow unto Jehovah, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from before me: I am Jehovah. | Say to them, If any man of all your seed through all your generations, being unclean, comes near the holy things which the children of Israel make holy to the Lord, he will be cut off from before me: I am the Lord. |
Leviticus 22:4 | What man soever of the seed of Aaron is a leper, or hath an issue; he shall not eat of the holy things, until he be clean. And whoso toucheth anything that is unclean by the dead, or a man whose seed goeth from him; | Whatsoever man of the seed of Aaron is a leper, or hath a flux, he shall not eat of the holy things, until he is clean. And he that toucheth any one that is unclean by a dead person, or a man whose seed of copulation hath passed from him; | No man of the seed of Aaron who is a leper, or who has a flow from his body, may take of the holy food till he is clean. And any man touching anything which is unclean because of the dead, or any man whose seed goes from him; |
Leviticus 22:5 | or whosoever toucheth any creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness, whatsoever uncleanness he hath; | or a man that toucheth any crawling thing whereby he becometh unclean, or a man by whom he may become unclean, whatever may be his uncleanness, | Or anyone touching any unclean thing which goes flat on the earth, or someone by whom he may be made unclean in any way whatever; |
Leviticus 22:6 | the soul that toucheth any such shall be unclean until the even, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he bathe his flesh in water. | a person that toucheth any such shall be unclean until even, and shall not eat of the holy things; but he shall bathe his flesh with water, | Any person touching any such unclean thing will be unclean till evening, and may not take of the holy food till his flesh has been bathed in water; |
Leviticus 22:7 | And when the sun is down, he shall be clean; and afterward he shall eat of the holy things, because it is his bread. | and when the sun goeth down, he shall be clean, and may afterwards eat of the holy things; for it is his food. | And when the sun has gone down he will be clean; and after that he may take part in the holy food, because it is his bread. |
Leviticus 22:8 | That which dieth of itself, or is torn of beasts, he shall not eat, to defile himself therewith: I am Jehovah. | Of a dead carcase and what is torn shall he not eat, to make himself unclean therewith: I am Jehovah. | That which comes to a natural death, or is attacked by beasts, he may not take as food, for it will make him unclean: I am the Lord. |
Leviticus 22:9 | They shall therefore keep my charge, lest they bear sin for it, and die therein, if they profane it: I am Jehovah who sanctifieth them. | And they shall keep my charge, lest they bear sin for it, and die by it, if they profane it: I am Jehovah who do hallow them. | So then, let them keep what I have put into their care, for fear that sin may come on them because of it, so causing their death because they have made it common: I am the Lord, who make them holy. |
Leviticus 22:10 | There shall no stranger eat of the holy thing: a sojourner of the priest's, or a hired servant, shall not eat of the holy thing. | And no stranger shall eat the holy thing; the sojourner with the priest, and the hired servant, shall not eat of the holy thing. | No outside person may take of the holy food, or one living as a guest in the priest's house, or a servant working for payment. |
Leviticus 22:11 | But if a priest buy any soul, the purchase of his money, he shall eat of it; and such as are born in his house, they shall eat of his bread. | But if a priest buy any one for money, he may eat of it, and he that is born in his house: they may eat of his food. | But any person for whom the priest has given money, to make him his, may take of it with him; and those who come to birth in his house may take of his bread. |
Leviticus 22:12 | And if a priest's daughter be married unto a stranger, she shall not eat of the heave-offering of the holy things. | And a priest's daughter who is [married] to a stranger may not eat of the heave-offering of the holy things. | And if the daughter of a priest is married to an outside person she may not take of the holy things which are lifted up as offerings. |
Leviticus 22:13 | But if a priest's daughter be a widow, or divorced, and have no child, and be returned unto her father's house, as in her youth, she shall eat of her father's bread: but there shall no stranger eat thereof. | But a priest's daughter that becometh a widow, or is divorced, and hath no seed, and returneth unto her father's house, as in her youth, she may eat of her father's food; but no stranger shall eat thereof. | But if a priest's daughter is a widow, or parted from her husband, and has no child, and has come back to her father's house as when she was a girl, she may take of her father's bread; but no outside person may do so. |
Leviticus 22:14 | And if a man eat of the holy thing unwittingly, then he shall put the fifth part thereof unto it, and shall give unto the priest the holy thing. | And if a man eat of a holy thing through inadvertence, then he shall put the fifth part thereof unto it, and shall give it unto the priest with the holy thing. | And if a man takes the holy food in error, he will have to give the holy thing back to the priest, with the addition of a fifth part. |
Leviticus 22:15 | And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer unto Jehovah, | And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel which they offer unto Jehovah, | And they may not make common the holy things which the children of Israel give to the Lord, |
Leviticus 22:16 | and [so] cause them to bear the iniquity that bringeth guilt, when they eat their holy things: for I am Jehovah who sanctifieth them. | and cause them to bear the iniquity of trespass when they eat their holy things; for I am Jehovah who do hallow them. | So causing sin to come on them when they take their holy things for food: I am the Lord who make them holy. |
Leviticus 22:17 | And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, | And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, | And the Lord said to Moses, |
Leviticus 22:18 | Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them, Whosoever he be of the house of Israel, or of the sojourners in Israel, that offereth his oblation, whether it be any of their vows, or any of their freewill-offerings, which they offer unto Jehovah for a burnt-offering; | Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them, Whatever man of the house of Israel, or of the sojourners in Israel, that presenteth his offering for any of his vows, and for any of his voluntary offerings, which they present to Jehovah as a burnt-offering, | Say to Aaron and to his sons and to all the children of Israel, If any man of the children of Israel, or of another nation living in Israel, makes an offering, given because of an oath or freely given to the Lord for a burned offering; |
Leviticus 22:19 | that ye may be accepted, [ye shall offer] a male without blemish, of the bullocks, of the sheep, or of the goats. | it shall be for your acceptance, without blemish, a male of the oxen, of the sheep, and of the goats. | So that it may be pleasing to the Lord, let him give a male, without any mark, from among the oxen or the sheep or the goats. |
Leviticus 22:20 | But whatsoever hath a blemish, that shall ye not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you. | Nothing that hath a defect shall ye present; for it shall not be acceptable for you. | But anything which has a mark you may not give; it will not make you pleasing to the Lord. |
Leviticus 22:21 | And whosoever offereth a sacrifice of peace-offerings unto Jehovah to accomplish a vow, or for a freewill-offering, of the herd or of the flock, it shall be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish therein. | And if any present a sacrifice of peace-offering to Jehovah to accomplish a vow, or a voluntary offering of oxen or small cattle, it shall be without blemish to be accepted: there shall be no defect therein. | And whoever makes a peace-offering to the Lord, in payment of an oath or as a free offering, from the herd or the flock, if it is to be pleasing to the Lord, let it be free from any mark or damage. |
Leviticus 22:22 | Blind, or broken, or maimed, or having a wen, or scurvy, or scabbed, ye shall not offer these unto Jehovah, nor make an offering by fire of them upon the altar unto Jehovah. | Blind, or broken, or maimed, or ulcerous, or with itch, or scabbed ye shall not present these to Jehovah, nor make an offering by fire of them on the altar to Jehovah. | Anything blind or broken or damaged or having any disease or any mark on it may not be offered to the Lord; you may not make an offering of it by fire on the altar to the Lord. |
Leviticus 22:23 | Either a bullock or a lamb that hath anything superfluous or lacking in his parts, that mayest thou offer for a freewill-offering; but for a vow it shall not be accepted. | A bullock and a sheep that hath a member too long or too short, that mayest thou offer as a voluntary offering; but as a vow it shall not be accepted. | An ox or a lamb which has more or less than its natural parts, may be given as a free offering; but it will not be taken in payment of an oath. |
Leviticus 22:24 | That which hath its stones bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut, ye shall not offer unto Jehovah; neither shall ye do [thus] in your land. | That which is bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut shall ye not present to Jehovah; neither in your land shall ye do [the like]. | An animal which has its sex parts damaged or crushed or broken or cut, may not be offered to the Lord; such a thing may not be done anywhere in your land. |
Leviticus 22:25 | Neither from the hand of a foreigner shall ye offer the bread of your God of any of these; because their corruption is in them, there is a blemish in them: they shall not be accepted for you. | Nor from the hand of the stranger shall ye present the bread of your God, of any of these; for their corruption is in them: a defect is in them; they shall not be accepted for you. | And from one who is not an Israelite you may not take any of these for an offering to the Lord; for they are unclean, there is a mark on them, and the Lord will not be pleased with them. |
Leviticus 22:26 | And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, | And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, | And the Lord said to Moses, |
Leviticus 22:27 | When a bullock, or a sheep, or a goat, is brought forth, then it shall be seven days under the dam; and from the eighth day and thenceforth it shall be accepted for the oblation of an offering made by fire unto Jehovah. | An ox, or a sheep, or a goat, when it is brought forth, shall be seven days under its dam; and from the eighth day and thenceforth it shall be accepted for an offering by fire to Jehovah. | When an ox or a sheep or a goat is given birth, let it be with its mother for seven days; and after the eighth day it may be taken as an offering made by fire to the Lord. |
Leviticus 22:28 | And whether it be cow or ewe, ye shall not kill it and its young both in one day. | A cow, or sheep it and its young shall ye not slaughter in one day. | A cow or a sheep may not be put to death with its young on the same day. |
Leviticus 22:29 | And when ye sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto Jehovah, ye shall sacrifice it that ye may be accepted. | And when ye sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving to Jehovah, ye shall sacrifice it for your acceptance. | And when you make an offering of praise to the Lord, make it in a way which is pleasing to him. |
Leviticus 22:30 | On the same day it shall be eaten; ye shall leave none of it until the morning: I am Jehovah. | On that day shall it be eaten: ye shall leave none of it until morning: I am Jehovah. | Let it be used for food on the same day; do not keep any part of it till the morning: I am the Lord. |
Leviticus 22:31 | Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am Jehovah. | And ye shall observe my commandments and do them: I am Jehovah. | So then, keep my orders and do them: I am the Lord. |
Leviticus 22:32 | And ye shall not profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am Jehovah who halloweth you, | And ye shall not profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am Jehovah who do hallow you, | And do not make my holy name common; so that it may be kept holy by the children of Israel: I am the Lord who make you holy, |
Leviticus 22:33 | who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am Jehovah. | who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am Jehovah. | Who took you out of the land of Egypt that I might be your God: I am the Lord. |
