Hosea 7:1 | When I would heal Israel, then is the iniquity of Ephraim uncovered, and the wickedness of Samaria; for they commit falsehood, and the thief entereth in, and the troop of robbers ravageth without. | When I would heal Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim is discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria: for they practise falsehood; and the thief entereth in, [and] the troop of robbers assaileth without. | When I would have healed Israel, the iniquity of Ephraim was discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria, for they have committed falsehood, and the thief is come in to steal, the robber is without. |
Hosea 7:2 | And they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now have their own doings beset them about; they are before my face. | And they say not in their hearts [that] I remember all their wickedness: now do their own doings encompass them; they are before my face. | And lest they may say in their hearts, that I remember all their wickedness: their own devices now have beset them about, they have been done before my face. |
Hosea 7:3 | They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies. | They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies. | They have made the king glad with their wickedness: and the princes with their lies. |
Hosea 7:4 | They are all adulterers; they are as an oven heated by the baker; he ceaseth to stir [the fire], from the kneading of the dough, until it be leavened. | They all practise adultery, as an oven heated by the baker: he ceaseth from stirring [the fire] after he hath kneaded the dough, until it be leavened. | They are all adulterers, like an oven heated by the baker: the city rested a little from the mingling of the leaven, till the whole was leavened. |
Hosea 7:5 | On the day of our king the princes made themselves sick with the heat of wine; he stretched out his hand with scoffers. | In the day of our king, the princes made themselves sick with the heat of wine: he stretched out his hand to scorners. | The day of our king, the princes began to be mad with wine: he stretched out his hand with scorners. |
Hosea 7:6 | For they have made ready their heart like an oven, while they lie in wait: their baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth as a flaming fire. | For they have applied their heart like an oven to their lying in wait: their baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth like a flaming fire. | Because they have applied their heart like an oven, when he laid snares for them: he slept all the night baking them, in the morning he himself was heated as a flaming fire. |
Hosea 7:7 | They are all hot as an oven, and devour their judges; all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that calleth unto me. | They are all hot as an oven, and devour their judges; all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that calleth unto me. | They were all heated like an oven, and have devoured their judges : all their kings have fallen: there is none amongst them that calleth unto me. |
Hosea 7:8 | Ephraim, he mixeth himself among the peoples; Ephraim is a cake not turned. | Ephraim, he mixeth himself with the peoples; Ephraim is a cake not turned. | Ephraim himself is mixed among the nations: Ephraim is become as bread baked under the ashes, that is not turned. |
Hosea 7:9 | Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knoweth [it] not: yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, and he knoweth [it] not. | Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knoweth [it] not; yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, and he knoweth [it] not. | Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knew it not: yea, grey hairs also are spread about upon him, and he is ignorant of it. |
Hosea 7:10 | And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: yet they have not returned unto Jehovah their God, nor sought him, for all this. | And the pride of Israel testifieth to his face; and they do not return to Jehovah their God, nor seek him for all this. | And the pride of Israel shall be humbled before his face: and they have not returned to the Lord their God, nor have they sought him in all these. |
Hosea 7:11 | And Ephraim is like a silly dove, without understanding: they call unto Egypt, they go to Assyria. | And Ephraim is become like a silly dove without understanding: they call to Egypt, they go to Assyria. | And Ephraim is become as a dove that is decoyed, not having a heart: they called upon Egypt, they went to the Assyrians. |
Hosea 7:12 | When they shall go, I will spread my net upon them; I will bring them down as the birds of the heavens; I will chastise them, as their congregation hath heard. | When they go, I will spread my net upon them; I will bring them down as the fowl of the heavens; I will chastise them, according as their assembly hath heard. | And when they shall go, I will spread my net upon them: I will bring them down as the fowl of the air, I will strike them as their congregation hath heard. |
Hosea 7:13 | Woe unto them! for they have wandered from me; destruction unto them! for they have trespassed against me: though I would redeem them, yet they have spoken lies against me. | Woe unto them! for they have wandered from me; destruction unto them! for they have transgressed against me. And I would redeem them; but they speak lies against me. | Woe to them, for they have departed from me: they shall be wasted because they have transgressed against me: and I redeemed them : and they have spoken lies against me. |
Hosea 7:14 | And they have not cried unto me with their heart, but they howl upon their beds: they assemble themselves for grain and new wine; they rebel against me. | And they cried not unto me in their heart, when they howled upon their beds; they assemble themselves for corn and new wine; they have turned aside from me. | And they have not cried to me with their heart, but they howled in their beds: they have thought upon wheat and wine, they are departed from me. |
Hosea 7:15 | Though I have taught and strengthened their arms, yet do they devise mischief against me. | I have indeed trained, I have strengthened their arms, but they imagine mischief against me. | And I have chastised them, and strengthened their arms: and they have imagined evil against me. |
Hosea 7:16 | They return, but not to [him that is] on high; they are like a deceitful bow; their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt. | They return, [but] not to the [Most] High: they are like a deceitful bow. Their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt. | They returned, that they might be without yoke: they became like a deceitful bow: their princes shall fall by the sword, for the rage of their tongue. This is their derision in the land of Egypt. |
