Romans 11:1I say then, Did God cast off his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. I say then, Has God cast away his people? Far be the thought. For *I* also am an Israelite, of [the] seed of Abraham, of [the] tribe of Benjamin.Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see: and bow down their back always.
Romans 11:2God did not cast off his people which he foreknew. Or know ye not what the scripture saith of Elijah? how he pleadeth with God against Israel: God has not cast away his people whom he foreknew. Know ye not what the scripture says in [the history of] Elias, how he pleads with God against Israel?I say then, have they so stumbled, that they should fall? God forbid. But by their offence, salvation is come to the Gentiles, that they may be emulous of them.
Romans 11:3Lord, they have killed thy prophets, they have digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life. Lord, they have killed thy prophets, they have dug down thine altars; and *I* have been left alone, and they seek my life.Now if the offence of them be the riches of the world, and the diminution of them, the riches of the Gentiles; how much more the fulness of them?
Romans 11:4But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have left for myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to Baal. But what says the divine answer to him? I have left to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed knee to Baal.For I say to you, Gentiles: as long indeed as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I will honour my ministry,
Romans 11:5Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. Thus, then, in the present time also there has been a remnant according to election of grace.If, by any means, I may provoke to emulation them who are my flesh, and may save some of them.
Romans 11:6But if it is by grace, it is no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if by grace, no longer of works: since [otherwise] grace is no more grace.For if the loss of them be the reconciliation of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
Romans 11:7What then? that which Israel seeketh for, that he obtained not; but the election obtained it, and the rest were hardened: What [is it] then? What Israel seeks for, that he has not obtained; but the election has obtained, and the rest have been blinded,For if the firstfruit be holy, so is the lump also: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
Romans 11:8according as it is written, God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, unto this very day. according as it is written, God has given to them a spirit of slumber, eyes not to see, and ears not to hear, unto this day.And if some of the branches be broken, and thou, being a wild olive, art ingrafted in them, and art made partaker of the root, and of the fatness of the olive tree,
Romans 11:9And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, And a stumblingblock, and a recompense unto them: And David says, Let their table be for a snare, and for a gin, and for a fall-trap, and for a recompense to them:Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
Romans 11:10Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, And bow thou down their back always. let their eyes be darkened not to see, and bow down their back alway.Thou wilt say then: The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.
Romans 11:11I say then, Did they stumble that they might fall? God forbid: but by their fall salvation [is come] unto the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy. I say then, Have they stumbled in order that they might fall? Far be the thought: but by their fall [there is] salvation to the nations to provoke them to jealousy.Well: because of unbelief they were broken off. But thou standest by faith: be not highminded, but fear.
Romans 11:12Now if their fall, is the riches of the world, and their loss the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness? But if their fall [be the] world's wealth, and their loss [the] wealth of [the] nations, how much rather their fulness?For if God hath not spared the natural branches, fear lest perhaps he also spare not thee.
Romans 11:13But I speak to you that are Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle of Gentiles, I glorify my ministry; For I speak to you, the nations, inasmuch as *I* am apostle of nations, I glorify my ministry;See then the goodness and the severity of God: towards them indeed that are fallen, the severity; but towards thee, the goodness of God, if thou abide in goodness, otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
Romans 11:14if by any means I may provoke to jealousy [them that are] my flesh, and may save some of them. if by any means I shall provoke to jealousy [them which are] my flesh, and shall save some from among them.And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.
Romans 11:15For if the casting away of them [is] the reconciling of the world, what [shall] the receiving [of them be], but life from the dead? For if their casting away [be the] world's reconciliation, what [their] reception but life from among [the] dead?For if thou wert cut out of the wild olive tree, which is natural to thee; and, contrary to nature, were grafted into the good olive tree; how much more shall they that are the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
Romans 11:16And if the firstfruit is holy, so is the lump: and if the root is holy, so are the branches. Now if the first-fruit [be] holy, the lump also; and if the root [be] holy, the branches also.For I would not have you ignorant, brethren, of this mystery, (lest you should be wise in your own conceits), that blindness in part has happened in Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles should come in.
Romans 11:17But if some of the branches were broken off, and thou, being a wild olive, wast grafted in among them, and didst become partaker with them of the root of the fatness of the olive tree; Now if some of the branches have been broken out, and *thou*, being a wild olive tree, hast been grafted in amongst them, and hast become a fellow-partaker of the root and of the fatness of the olive tree,And so all Israel should be saved, as it is written: There shall come out of Sion, he that shall deliver, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob.
Romans 11:18glory not over the branches: but if thou gloriest, it is not thou that bearest the root, but the root thee. boast not against the branches; but if thou boast, [it is] not *thou* bearest the root, but the root thee.And this is to them my covenant: when I shall take away their sins.
Romans 11:19Thou wilt say then, Branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in. Thou wilt say then, The branches have been broken out in order that *I* might be grafted in.As concerning the gospel, indeed, they are enemies for your sake: but as touching the election, they are most dear for the sake of the fathers.
Romans 11:20Well; by their unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by thy faith. Be not highminded, but fear: Right: they have been broken out through unbelief, and *thou* standest through faith. Be not high-minded, but fear:For the gifts and the calling of God are without repentance.
Romans 11:21for if God spared not the natural branches, neither will he spare thee. if God indeed has not spared the natural branches; lest it might be he spare not thee either.For as you also in times past did not believe God, but now have obtained mercy, through their unbelief;
Romans 11:22Behold then the goodness and severity of God: toward them that fell, severity; but toward thee, God's goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. Behold then [the] goodness and severity of God: upon them who have fallen, severity; upon thee goodness of God, if thou shalt abide in goodness, since [otherwise] *thou* also wilt be cut away.So these also now have not believed, for your mercy, that they also may obtain mercy.
Romans 11:23And they also, if they continue not in their unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again. And *they* too, if they abide not in unbelief, shall be grafted in; for God is able again to graft them in.For God hath concluded all in unbelief, that he may have mercy on all.
Romans 11:24For if thou wast cut out of that which is by nature a wild olive tree, and wast grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree; how much more shall these, which are the natural [branches], be grafted into their own olive tree? For if *thou* hast been cut out of the olive tree wild by nature, and, contrary to nature, hast been grafted into the good olive tree, how much rather shall they, who are according to nature be grafted into their own olive tree?O the depth of the riches of the wisdom and of the knowledge of God! How incomprehensible are his judgments, and how unsearchable his ways!
Romans 11:25For I would not, brethren, have you ignorant of this mystery, lest ye be wise in your own conceits, that a hardening in part hath befallen Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in; For I do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, of this mystery, that ye may not be wise in your own conceits, that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the nations be come in;For who hath known the mind of the Lord? Or who hath been his counsellor?
Romans 11:26and so all Israel shall be saved: even as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer; He shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: and so all Israel shall be saved. According as it is written, The deliverer shall come out of Zion; he shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob.Or who hath first given to him, and recompense shall be made him?
Romans 11:27And this is my covenant unto them, When I shall take away their sins. And this is the covenant from me to them, when I shall have taken away their sins.For of him, and by him, and in him, are all things: to him be glory for ever. Amen.
Romans 11:28As touching the gospel, they are enemies for your sake: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sake. As regards the glad tidings, [they are] enemies on your account; but as regards election, beloved on account of the fathers.
Romans 11:29For the gifts and the calling of God are not repented of. For the gifts and the calling of God [are] not subject to repentance.
Romans 11:30For as ye in time past were disobedient to God, but now have obtained mercy by their disobedience, For as indeed *ye* [also] once have not believed in God, but now have been objects of mercy through the unbelief of *these*;
Romans 11:31even so have these also now been disobedient, that by the mercy shown to you they also may now obtain mercy. so these also have now not believed in your mercy, in order that *they* also may be objects of mercy.
Romans 11:32For God hath shut up all unto disobedience, that he might have mercy upon all. For God hath shut up together all in unbelief, in order that he might shew mercy to all.
Romans 11:33O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past tracing out! O depth of riches both of [the] wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable his judgments, and untraceable his ways!
Romans 11:34For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? For who has known [the] mind of [the] Lord, or who has been his counsellor?
Romans 11:35or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? or who has first given to him, and it shall be rendered to him?
Romans 11:36For of him, and through him, and unto him, are all things. To him [be] the glory for ever. Amen. For of him, and through him, and for him [are] all things: to him be glory for ever. Amen.
