| James 4:1 | Whence [come] wars and whence [come] fightings among you? [come they] not hence, [even] of your pleasures that war in your members? | From whence are wars and contentions among you? Are they not hence, from your concupiscences, which war in your members? | What causes wars and contentions among you? Is it not the cravings which are ever at war within you for various pleasures? |

Behold, now you that say: To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and there we will spend a year, and will traffic, and make our gain. | Come, you who say, "To-day or to-morrow we will go to this or that city, and spend a year there and carry on a successful business," |

For ye are a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. | Whereas you know not what shall be on the morrow. | when, all the while, you do not even know what will happen to-morrow. For what is the nature of your life? Why, it is but a mist, which appears for a short time and then is seen no more. |
