Jonah 2:1Then Jonah prayed unto Jehovah his God out of the fish's belly. Now the Lord prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonas: and Jonas was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. And Jonah prayeth unto Jehovah his God from the bowels of the fish.
Jonah 2:2And he said, I called by reason of mine affliction unto Jehovah, And he answered me; Out of the belly of Sheol cried I, [And] thou heardest my voice. And Jonas prayed to the Lord his God out of the belly of the fish. And he saith: I called, because of my distress, to Jehovah, And He doth answer me, From the belly of sheol I have cried, Thou hast heard my voice.
Jonah 2:3For thou didst cast me into the depth, in the heart of the seas, And the flood was round about me; All thy waves and thy billows passed over me. And he said: I cried out of my affliction to the Lord, and he heard me: I cried out of the belly of hell, and thou hast heard my voice. When Thou dost cast me [into] the deep, Into the heart of the seas, Then the flood doth compass me, All Thy breakers and Thy billows have passed over me.
Jonah 2:4And I said, I am cast out from before thine eyes; Yet I will look again toward thy holy temple. And thou hast cast me forth into the deep in the heart of the sea, and a flood hath compassed me: all thy billows, and thy waves have passed over me.And I I said: I have been cast out from before Thine eyes, (Yet I add to look unto Thy holy temple!)
Jonah 2:5The waters compassed me about, even to the soul; The deep was round about me; The weeds were wrapped about my head. And I said: I am cast away out of the sight of thy eyes: but yet I shall see thy holy temple again.Compassed me have waters unto the soul, The deep doth compass me, The weed is bound to my head.
Jonah 2:6I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; The earth with its bars [closed] upon me for ever: Yet hast thou brought up my life from the pit, O Jehovah my God. The waters compassed me about even to the soul: the deep hath closed me round about, the sea hath covered my head.To the cuttings of mountains I have come down, The earth, her bars [are] behind me to the age. And Thou bringest up from the pit my life, O Jehovah my God.
Jonah 2:7When my soul fainted within me, I remembered Jehovah; And my prayer came in unto thee, into thy holy temple. I went down to the lowest parts of the mountains: the bars of the earth have shut me up for ever: and thou wilt bring up my life from corruption, O Lord my God.In the feebleness within me of my soul Jehovah I have remembered, And come in unto Thee doth my prayer, Unto Thy holy temple.
Jonah 2:8They that regard lying vanities Forsake their own mercy. When my soul was in distress within me, I remembered the Lord: that my prayer may come to thee, unto thy holy temple. Those observing lying vanities their own mercy forsake.
Jonah 2:9But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation is of Jehovah. They that are vain observe vanities, forsake their own mercy. And I with a voice of thanksgiving I sacrifice to Thee, That which I have vowed I complete, Salvation [is] of Jehovah.
Jonah 2:10And Jehovah spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land. But I with the voice of praise will sacrifice to thee: I will pay whatsoever I have vowed for my salvation to the Lord. And Jehovah saith to the fish, and it vomiteth out Jonah on the dry land.
