And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles. Acts 8:3But Saul laid waste the church, entering into every house, and dragging men and women committed them to prison. As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison. Acts 8:7For [from] many of those that had unclean spirits, they came out, crying with a loud voice: and many that were palsied, and that were lame, were healed. For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. For unclean spirits came out from those who had them, crying with a loud voice; and a number of those who were ill and broken in body were made well.
Acts 8:8And there was much joy in that city. And there was great joy in that city. And there was much joy in that town.
Acts 8:9But there was a certain man, Simon by name, who beforetime in the city used sorcery, and amazed the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: But there was a certain man named Simon, who in the past had been a wonder-worker and a cause of surprise to the people of Samaria, saying that he himself was a great man:
Acts 8:10to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is that power of God which is called Great. To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God. To whom they all gave attention, from the smallest to the greatest, saying, This man is that power of God which is named Great.
Acts 8:11And they gave heed to him, because that of long time he had amazed them with his sorceries. And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries. And they gave attention to him, because for a long time his wonder-working powers had kept them under his control.

Acts 8:13And Simon also himself believed: and being baptized, he continued with Philip; and beholding signs and great miracles wrought, he was amazed. Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. And Simon himself had faith and, having had baptism, he went with Philip and, seeing the signs and the great wonders which he did, he was full of surprise.

Acts 8:20But Peter said unto him, Thy silver perish with thee, because thou hast thought to obtain the gift of God with money. But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. But Peter said, May your money come to destruction with you, because you had the idea that what is freely given by God may be got for a price.
Acts 8:21Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right before God. Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. You have no part in this business, because your heart is not right before God.
Acts 8:22Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray the Lord, if perhaps the thought of thy heart shall be forgiven thee. Acts 8:32Now the passage of the Scripture which he was reading was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before his shearer is dumb, So he openeth not his mouth: The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth: Now the place in the book where he was reading was this: He was taken, like a sheep, to be put to death; and as a lamb is quiet when its wool is being cut, so he made no sound:
Acts 8:33In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: His generation who shall declare? For his life is taken from the earth. In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth. Being of low degree, his cause was not given a hearing: who has knowledge of his family? for his life is cut off from the earth.
Acts 8:34And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other?
