1st-Peter 5:1The elders among you I exhort, who am a fellow-elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, who am also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: So I exhort the Elders among you I who am their fellow Elder and have been an eye-witness of the sufferings of the Christ, and am also a sharer in the glory which is soon to be revealed.
1st-Peter 5:2Tend the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not of constraint, but willingly, according to [the will of] God; nor yet for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Be shepherds of God's flock which is among you. Exercise the oversight not reluctantly but eagerly, in accordance with the will of God; not for base gain but with cheerful minds;
1st-Peter 5:3neither as lording it over the charge allotted to you, but making yourselves ensamples to the flock. Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. not lording it over your Churches but proving yourselves patterns for the flock to imitate.
1st-Peter 5:4And when the chief Shepherd shall be manifested, ye shall receive the crown of glory that fadeth not away. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. And then, when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the never-withering wreath of glory.
1st-Peter 5:5Likewise, ye younger, be subject unto the elder. Yea, all of you gird yourselves with humility, to serve one another: for God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble. Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. In the same way you younger men must submit to your elders; and all of you must gird yourselves with humility towards one another, for God sets Himself against the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
1st-Peter 5:6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time; Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Humble yourselves therefore beneath the mighty hand of God, so that at the right time He may set you on high.
1st-Peter 5:7casting all your anxiety upon him, because he careth for you. Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Throw the whole of your anxiety upon Him, because He Himself cares for you.
1st-Peter 5:8Be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour, Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Curb every passion, and be on the alert. Your great accuser, the Devil, is going about like a roaring lion to see whom he can devour.
1st-Peter 5:9whom withstand stedfast in your faith, knowing that the same sufferings are accomplished in your brethren who are in the world. Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. Withstand him, firm in your faith; knowing that your brethren in other parts of the world are passing through just the same experiences.
1st-Peter 5:10And the God of all grace, who called you unto his eternal glory in Christ, after that ye have suffered a little while, shall himself perfect, establish, strengthen you. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. And God, the giver of all grace, who has called you to share His eternal glory, through Christ, after you have suffered for a short time, will Himself make you perfect, firm, and strong.
1st-Peter 5:11To him [be] the dominion for ever and ever. Amen. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. To Him be all power unto the Ages of the Ages! Amen.
1st-Peter 5:12By Silvanus, our faithful brother, as I account [him], I have written unto you briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand ye fast therein. By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand. I send this short letter by Silas, our faithful brother for such I regard him in order to encourage you, and to bear witness that what I have told you is the true grace of God. In it stand fast.
1st-Peter 5:13She that is in Babylon, elect together with [you], saluteth you; and [so doth] Mark my son. The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son. The Church in Babylon, chosen like yourselves by God, sends greetings, and so does Mark my son.
1st-Peter 5:14Salute one another with a kiss of love. Peace be unto you all that are in Christ. Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen. Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace be with all of you who are in Christ.
