Luke 19:1And he entered and was passing through Jericho. And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.And he entered and passed through Jericho.
Luke 19:2And behold, a man called by name Zacchaeus; and he was a chief publican, and he was rich. And behold, there was a man named Zaccheus, who was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.And behold, [there was] a man by name called Zacchaeus, and he was chief tax-gatherer, and he was rich.
Luke 19:3And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the crowd, because he was little of stature. And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the crowd, because he was little of stature.And he sought to see Jesus who he was: and he could not for the crowd, because he was little in stature.
Luke 19:4And he ran on before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. And he ran before, and climbed up upon a sycamore-tree to see him; for he was to pass that way.And running on before, he got up into a sycamore that he might see him, for he was going to pass that [way].
Luke 19:5And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to-day I must abide at thy house. And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said to him, Zaccheus, make haste, and come down: for to-day I must abide at thy house.And when he came up to the place, Jesus looked up and saw him, and said to him, Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for to-day I must remain in thy house.
Luke 19:6And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.And he made haste and came down, and received him with joy.
Luke 19:7And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, He is gone in to lodge with a man that is a sinner. And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.And all murmured when they saw [it], saying, He has turned in to lodge with a sinful man.
Luke 19:8And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord, Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have wrongfully exacted aught of any man, I restore fourfold. And Zaccheus stood, and said to the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him four-fold.But Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor, and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I return [him] fourfold.
Luke 19:9And Jesus said unto him, To-day is salvation come to this house, forasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham. And Jesus said to him, This day is salvation come to this house, forasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham.And Jesus said to him, To-day salvation is come to this house, inasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham;
Luke 19:10For the Son of man came to seek and to save that which was lost. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.for the Son of man has come to seek and to save that which is lost.
Luke 19:11And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and [because] they supposed that the kingdom of God was immediately to appear. And as they heard these things, he added and spoke a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God would immediately appear.But as they were listening to these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was near to Jerusalem and they thought that the kingdom of God was about to be immediately manifested.
Luke 19:12He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country, to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.He said therefore, A certain high-born man went to a distant country to receive for himself a kingdom and return.
Luke 19:13And he called ten servants of his, and gave them ten pounds, and said unto them, Trade ye [herewith] till I come. And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said to them, Occupy till I come.And having called his own ten bondmen, he gave to them ten minas, and said to them, Trade while I am coming.
Luke 19:14But his citizens hated him, and sent an ambassage after him, saying, We will not that this man reign over us. But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.But his citizens hated him, and sent an embassy after him, saying, We will not that this [man] should reign over us.
Luke 19:15And it came to pass, when he was come back again, having received the kingdom, that he commanded these servants, unto whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by trading. And it came to pass, that when he had returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called to him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.And it came to pass on his arrival back again, having received the kingdom, that he desired these bondmen to whom he gave the money to be called to him, in order that he might know what every one had gained by trading.
Luke 19:16And the first came before him, saying, Lord, thy pound hath made ten pounds more. Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.And the first came up, saying, [My] Lord, thy mina has produced ten minas.
Luke 19:17And he said unto him, Well done, thou good servant: because thou wast found faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities. And he said to him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.And he said to him, Well [done], thou good bondman; because thou hast been faithful in that which is least, be thou in authority over ten cities.
Luke 19:18And the second came, saying, Thy pound, Lord, hath made five pounds. And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.And the second came, saying, [My] Lord, thy mina has made five minas.
Luke 19:19And he said unto him also, Be thou also over five cities. And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.And he said also to this one, And *thou*, be over five cities.
Luke 19:20And another came, saying, Lord, behold, [here is] thy pound, which I kept laid up in a napkin: And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:And another came, saying, [My] Lord, lo, [there is] thy mina, which I have kept laid up in a towel.
Luke 19:21for I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that which thou layedst not down, and reapest that which thou didst not sow. For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up what thou layedst not down, and reapest what thou didst not sow.For I feared thee because thou art a harsh man: thou takest up what thou hast not laid down, and thou reapest what thou hast not sowed.
Luke 19:22He saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I am an austere man, taking up that which I laid not down, and reaping that which I did not sow; And he saith to him, Out of thy own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest me to be an austere man, taking up what I laid not down, and reaping what I did not sow:He says to him, Out of thy mouth will I judge thee, wicked bondman: thou knewest that *I* am a harsh man, taking up what I have not laid down and reaping what I have not sowed.
Luke 19:23then wherefore gavest thou not my money into the bank, and I at my coming should have required it with interest? Why then gavest thou not my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required my own with interest?And why didst thou not give my money to [the] bank; and *I* should have received it, at my coming, with interest?
Luke 19:24And he said unto them that stood by, Take away from him the pound, and give it unto him that hath the ten pounds. And he said to them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.And he said to those that stood by, Take from him the mina and give [it] to him who has the ten minas.
Luke 19:25And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds. (And they said to him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)And they said to him, Lord, he has ten minas.
Luke 19:26I say unto you, that unto every one that hath shall be given; but from him that hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken away from him. For I say to you, That to every one who hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even what he hath shall be taken away from him.For I say unto you, that to every one that has shall be given; but from him that has not, that even which he has shall be taken from him.
Luke 19:27But these mine enemies, that would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me. But those my enemies, who would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.Moreover those mine enemies, who would not [have] me to reign over them, bring them here and slay [them] before me.
Luke 19:28And when he had thus spoken, he went on before, going up to Jerusalem. And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending towards Jerusalem.And having said these things, he went on before, going up to Jerusalem.
Luke 19:29And it came to pass, when he drew nigh unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount that is called Olivet, he sent two of the disciples, And it came to pass, when he had come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,And it came to pass as he drew near to Bethphage and Bethany at the mountain called [the mount] of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,
Luke 19:30saying, Go your way into the village over against [you]; in which as ye enter ye shall find a colt tied, whereon no man ever yet sat: loose him, and bring him. Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in which at your entering ye will find a colt tied, on which yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither.saying, Go into the village over against [you], in which ye will find, on entering it, a colt tied up, on which no [child] of man ever sat at any time: loose it and lead it [here].
Luke 19:31And if any one ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say, The Lord hath need of him. And if any man shall ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say to him, Because the Lord hath need of him.And if any one ask you, Why do ye loose [it]? thus shall ye say to him, Because the Lord has need of it.
Luke 19:32And they that were sent went away, and found even as he had said unto them. And they that were sent, went and found even as he had said to them.And they that were sent, having gone their way, found as he had said to them.
Luke 19:33And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt? And as they were loosing the colt, the owners of it said to them, Why loose ye the colt?And as they were loosing the colt, its masters said to them, Why loose ye the colt?
Luke 19:34And they said, The Lord hath need of him. And they said, The Lord hath need of him.And they said, Because the Lord has need of it.
Luke 19:35And they brought him to Jesus: and they threw their garments upon the colt, and set Jesus thereon. And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus upon him.And they led it to Jesus; and having cast their own garments on the colt, they put Jesus on [it].
Luke 19:36And as he went, they spread their garments in the way. And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.And as he went, they strewed their clothes in the way.
Luke 19:37And as he was now drawing nigh, [even] at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen; And when he had come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice, for all the mighty works that they had seen.And as he drew near, already at the descent of the mount of Olives, all the multitude of the disciples began, rejoicing, to praise God with a loud voice for all the works of power which they had seen,
Luke 19:38saying, Blessed [is] the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.saying, Blessed the King that comes in the name of [the] Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
Luke 19:39And some of the Pharisees from the multitude said unto him, Teacher, rebuke thy disciples. And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said to him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.And some of the Pharisees from the crowd said to him, Teacher, rebuke thy disciples.
Luke 19:40And he answered and said, I tell you that, if these shall hold their peace, the stones will cry out. And he answered and said to them, I tell you, that if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.And he answering said to them, I say unto you, If these shall be silent, the stones will cry out.
Luke 19:41And when he drew nigh, he saw the city and wept over it, And when he had come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,And as he drew near, seeing the city, he wept over it,
Luke 19:42saying, If thou hadst known in this day, even thou, the things which belong unto peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong to thy peace! but now they are hid from thy eyes.saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, even at least in this thy day, the things that are for thy peace: but now they are hid from thine eyes;
Luke 19:43For the days shall come upon thee, when thine enemies shall cast up a bank about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, For the days shall come upon thee, that thy enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and encompass thee, and keep thee in on every side,for days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall make a palisaded mound about thee, and shall close thee around, and keep thee in on every side,
Luke 19:44and shall dash thee to the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation. And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee: and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another: because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.and shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children in thee; and shall not leave in thee a stone upon a stone: because thou knewest not the season of thy visitation.
Luke 19:45And he entered into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold, And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold in it, and them that bought,And entering into the temple, he began to cast out those that sold and bought in it,
Luke 19:46saying unto them, It is written, And my house shall be a house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of robbers. Saying to them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of thieves.saying to them, It is written, My house is a house of prayer, but *ye* have made it a den of robbers.
Luke 19:47And he was teaching daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the principal men of the people sought to destroy him: And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests, and the scribes, and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,And he was teaching day by day in the temple: and the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,
Luke 19:48and they could not find what they might do; for the people all hung upon him, listening. And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.and did not find what they could do, for all the people hung on him to hear.
