| Luke 14:1 | And it came to pass, when he went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees on a sabbath to eat bread, that they were watching him. | And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath, that they watched him. | And it came to pass, on his going into the house of a certain one of the chiefs of the Pharisees, on a sabbath, to eat bread, that they were watching him, |
| Luke 14:2 | And behold, there was before him a certain man that had the dropsy. | And behold, there was a certain man before him who had the dropsy. | and lo, there was a certain dropsical man before him; |
| Luke 14:3 | And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath, or not? | And Jesus answering, spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath? | and Jesus answering spake to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, `Is it lawful on the sabbath-day to heal?` |

| Luke 14:14 | and thou shalt be blessed; because they have not [wherewith] to recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed in the resurrection of the just. | And thou shalt be blessed: for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just. | and happy thou shalt be, because they have not to recompense thee, for it shall be recompensed to thee in the rising again of the righteous.` |
