Matthew 24:1 | And Jesus went out from the temple, and was going on his way; and his disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple. | Jesus had left the Temple and was going on His way, when His disciples came and called His attention to the Temple buildings. | And having gone forth, Jesus departed from the temple, and his disciples came near to show him the buildings of the temple, |
Matthew 24:2 | But he answered and said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. | "You see all these?" He replied; "in solemn truth I tell you that there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be pulled down." | and Jesus said to them, `Do ye not see all these? verily I say to you, There may not be left here a stone upon a stone, that shall not be thrown down.` |
Matthew 24:3 | And as he sat on the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? | Afterwards He was on the Mount of Olives and was seated there when the disciples came to Him, apart from the others, and said, "Tell us when this will be; and what will be the sign of your Coming and of the Close of the Age?" | And when he is sitting on the mount of the Olives, the disciples came near to him by himself, saying, `Tell us, when shall these be? and what [is] the sign of thy presence, and of the full end of the age?` |
Matthew 24:4 | And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man lead you astray. | "Take care that no one misleads you," answered Jesus; | And Jesus answering said to them, `Take heed that no one may lead you astray, |
Matthew 24:5 | For many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ; and shall lead many astray. | "for many will come assuming my name and saying `I am the Christ;' and they will mislead many. | for many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ, and they shall lead many astray, |
Matthew 24:6 | And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that ye be not troubled: for [these things] must needs come to pass; but the end is not yet. | And before long you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. Do not be alarmed, for such things must be; but the End is not yet. | and ye shall begin to hear of wars, and reports of wars; see, be not troubled, for it behoveth all [these] to come to pass, but the end is not yet. |
Matthew 24:7 | For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines and earthquakes in divers places. | For nation will rise in arms against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places; | `For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places; |
Matthew 24:8 | But all these things are the beginning of travail. | but all these miseries are but like the early pains of childbirth. | and all these [are] the beginning of sorrows; |
Matthew 24:9 | Then shall they deliver you up unto tribulation, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all the nations for my name's sake. | "At that time they will deliver you up to punishment and will put you to death; and you will be objects of hatred to all the nations because you are called by my name. | then they shall deliver you up to tribulation, and shall kill you, and ye shall be hated by all the nations because of my name; |
Matthew 24:10 | And then shall many stumble, and shall deliver up one another, and shall hate one another. | Then will many stumble and fall, and they will betray one another and hate one another. | and then shall many be stumbled, and they shall deliver up one another, and shall hate one another. |
Matthew 24:11 | And many false prophets shall arise, and shall lead many astray. | Many false prophets will rise up and lead multitudes astray; | `And many false prophets shall arise, and shall lead many astray; |
Matthew 24:12 | And because iniquity shall be multiplied, the love of the many shall wax cold. | and because of the prevalent disregard of God's law the love of the great majority will grow cold; | and because of the abounding of the lawlessness, the love of the many shall become cold; |
Matthew 24:13 | But he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved. | but those who stand firm to the End shall be saved. | but he who did endure to the end, he shall be saved; |
Matthew 24:14 | And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a testimony unto all the nations; and then shall the end come. | And this Good News of the Kingdom shall be proclaimed throughout the whole world to set the evidence before all the Gentiles; and then the End will come. | and this good news of the reign shall be proclaimed in all the world, for a testimony to all the nations; and then shall the end arrive. |
Matthew 24:15 | When therefore ye see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let him that readeth understand), | "When you have seen (to use the language of the Prophet Daniel) the `Abomination of Desolation', standing in the Holy Place" let the reader observe those words | `Whenever, therefore, ye may see the abomination of the desolation, that was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (whoever is reading let him observe) |
Matthew 24:16 | then let them that are in Judaea flee unto the mountains: | "then let those who are in Judaea escape to the hills; | then those in Judea let them flee to the mounts; |
Matthew 24:17 | let him that is on the housetop not go down to take out things that are in his house: | let him who is on the roof not go down to fetch what is in his house; | he on the house-top let him not come down to take up any thing out of his house; |
Matthew 24:18 | and let him that is in the field not return back to take his cloak. | nor let him who is outside the city stay to pick up his outer garment. | and he in the field let him not turn back to take his garments. |
Matthew 24:19 | But woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days! | And alas for the women who at that time are with child or have infants! | `And wo to those with child, and to those giving suck in those days; |
Matthew 24:20 | And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on a sabbath: | "But pray that your flight may not be in winter, nor on the Sabbath; | and pray ye that your flight may not be in winter, nor on a sabbath; |
Matthew 24:21 | for then shall be great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shall be. | for it will be a time of great suffering, such as never has been from the beginning of the world till now, and assuredly never will be again. | for there shall be then great tribulation, such as was not from the beginning of the world till now, no, nor may be. |
Matthew 24:22 | And except those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. | And if those days had not been cut short, no one would escape; but for the sake of God's own People those days will be cut short. | And if those days were not shortened, no flesh would have been saved; but because of the chosen, shall those days be shortened. |
Matthew 24:23 | Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is the Christ, or, Here; believe [it] not. | "If at that time any one should say to you, `See, here is the Christ!' or `Here!' give no credence to it. | `Then if any one may say to you, Lo, here [is] the Christ! or here! ye may not believe; |
Matthew 24:24 | For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. | For there will rise up false Christs and false prophets, displaying wonderful signs and prodigies, so as to deceive, were it possible, even God's own People. | for there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and they shall give great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, also the chosen. |
Matthew 24:25 | Behold, I have told you beforehand. | Remember, I have forewarned you. | Lo, I did tell you beforehand. |
Matthew 24:26 | If therefore they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the wilderness; go not forth: Behold, he is in the inner chambers; believe [it] not. | If therefore they should say to you, `See, He is in the Desert!' do not go out there: or `See, He is indoors in the room!' do not believe it. | `If therefore they may say to you, Lo, in the wilderness he is, ye may not go forth; lo, in the inner chambers, ye may not believe; |
Matthew 24:27 | For as the lightning cometh forth from the east, and is seen even unto the west; so shall be the coming of the Son of man. | For just as the lightning flashes in the east and is seen to the very west, so will be the Coming of the Son of Man. | for as the lightning doth come forth from the east, and doth appear unto the west, so shall be also the presence of the Son of Man; |
Matthew 24:28 | Wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. | Wherever the dead body is, there will the vultures flock together. | for wherever the carcase may be, there shall the eagles be gathered together. |
Matthew 24:29 | But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: | "But immediately after those times of distress the sun will be darkened, the moon will not shed her light, the stars will fall from the firmament, and the forces which control the heavens will be disordered and disturbed. | `And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from the heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken; |
Matthew 24:30 | and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. | Then will appear the Sign of the Son of Man in the sky; and then will all the nations of the earth lament, when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with great power and glory. | and then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in the heaven; and then shall all the tribes of the earth smite the breast, and they shall see the Son of Man coming upon the clouds of the heaven, with power and much glory; |
Matthew 24:31 | And he shall send forth his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. | And He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet-blast, and they will bring together His own People to Him from north, south, east and west from one extremity of the world to the other. | and he shall send his messengers with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his chosen from the four winds, from the ends of the heavens unto the ends thereof. |

Matthew 24:34 | Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all these things be accomplished. | I tell you in solemn truth that the present generation will certainly not pass away without all these things having first taken place. | Verily I say to you, this generation may not pass away till all these may come to pass. |
Matthew 24:35 | Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. | Earth and sky will pass away, but it is certain that my words will not pass away. | The heaven and the earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. |
Matthew 24:36 | But of that day and hour knoweth no one, not even the angels of heaven, neither the Son, but the Father only. | "But as to that day and the exact time no one knows not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. | `And concerning that day and the hour no one hath known not even the messengers of the heavens except my Father only; |

Matthew 24:39 | and they knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall be the coming of the Son of man. | nor did they realise any danger till the Deluge came and swept them all away; so will it be at the Coming of the Son of Man. | and they did not know till the flood came and took all away; so shall be also the presence of the Son of Man. |

Matthew 24:44 | Therefore be ye also ready; for in an hour that ye think not the Son of man cometh. | Therefore you also must be ready; for it is at a time when you do not expect Him that the Son of Man will come. | because of this also ye, become ye ready, because in what hour ye do not think, the Son of Man doth come. |
Matthew 24:45 | Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath set over his household, to give them their food in due season? | "Who therefore is the loyal and intelligent servant to whom his master has entrusted the control of his household to give them their rations at the appointed time? | `Who, then, is the servant, faithful and wise, whom his lord did set over his household, to give them the nourishment in season? |
Matthew 24:46 | Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. | Blessed is that servant whom his master when he comes shall find so doing! | Happy that servant, whom his lord, having come, shall find doing so; |
