Luke 10:1Now after these things the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself was about to come. Luke 10:2And he said unto them, The harvest indeed is plenteous, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth laborers into his harvest. Then he said to them, "The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he may send out laborers into his harvest.And he said to them, The harvest indeed [is] great, but the workmen few; supplicate therefore the Lord of the harvest that he may send out workmen into his harvest.
Luke 10:3Go your ways; behold, I send you forth as lambs in the midst of wolves. Go your ways. Behold, I send you out as lambs in the midst of wolves.Go: behold *I* send you forth as lambs in the midst of wolves.
Luke 10:4Carry no purse, no wallet, no shoes; and salute no man on the way. Carry no purse, nor wallet, nor sandals. Greet no one on the way.Carry neither purse nor scrip nor sandals, and salute no one on the way.
Luke 10:5And into whatsoever house ye shall enter, first say, Peace [be] to this house. Into whatever house you enter, first say, 'Peace be to this house.'And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace to this house.
Luke 10:6And if a son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon him: but if not, it shall turn to you again. If a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you.And if a son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it; but if not it shall turn to you again.
Luke 10:7And in that same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the laborer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house. Remain in that same house, eating and drinking the things they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Don't go from house to house.And in the same house abide, eating and drinking such things as they have; for the workman is worthy of his hire. Remove not from house to house.
Luke 10:8And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you: Into whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat the things that are set before you.And into whatsoever city ye may enter and they receive you, eat what is set before you,
Luke 10:9and heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. Heal the sick who are therein, and tell them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you.'and heal the sick in it, and say to them, The kingdom of God is come nigh to you.
Luke 10:10But into whatsoever city ye shall enter, and they receive you not, go out into the streets thereof and say, But into whatever city you enter, and they don't receive you, go out into the streets of it and say,But into whatsoever city ye may have entered and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say,
Luke 10:11Even the dust from your city, that cleaveth to our feet, we wipe off against you: nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh. 'Even the dust from your city that clings to us, we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God has come near to you.'Even the dust of your city, which cleaves to us on the feet, do we shake off against you; but know this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh.
Luke 10:12I say unto you, it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city. I tell you, it will be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city.I say to you that it shall be more tolerable for Sodom in that day than for that city.
Luke 10:13Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which were done in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. "Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.Woe to thee, Chorazin! woe to thee, Bethsaida! for if the works of power which have taken place in you had taken place in Tyre and Sidon, they had long ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
Luke 10:14But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment, than for you. But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you.But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you.
Luke 10:15And thou, Capernaum, shalt thou be exalted unto heaven? thou shalt be brought down unto Hades. You, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades.And *thou*, Capernaum, who hast been raised up to heaven, shalt be brought down even to hades.
Luke 10:16He that heareth you heareth me; and he that rejecteth you rejecteth me; and he that rejecteth me rejecteth him that sent me. Whoever listens to you listens to me, and whoever rejects you rejects me. Whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me."He that hears you hears me; and he that rejects you rejects me; and he that rejects me rejects him that sent me.
Luke 10:17And the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject unto us in thy name. The seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name."And the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us through thy name.
Luke 10:18And he said unto them, I beheld Satan fallen as lightning from heaven. He said to them, "I saw Satan having fall like lightning from heaven.And he said to them, I beheld Satan as lightning falling out of heaven.
Luke 10:19Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall in any wise hurt you. Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you.Behold, I give you the power of treading upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall in anywise injure you.
Luke 10:20Nevertheless in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rejoice that your names are written in heaven. Nevertheless, don't rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."Yet in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subjected to you, but rejoice that your names are written in the heavens.
Luke 10:21In that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou didst hide these things from the wise and understanding, and didst reveal them unto babes: yea, Father; for so it was well-pleasing in thy sight. In that same hour Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, "I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight."In the same hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit and said, I praise thee, Father, Lord of the heaven and of the earth, that thou hast hid these things from wise and prudent, and hast revealed them to babes: yea, Father, for thus has it been well-pleasing in thy sight.
Luke 10:22All things have been delivered unto me of my Father: and no one knoweth who the Son is, save the Father; and who the Father is, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son willeth to reveal [him]. Turning to the disciples, he said, "All things have been delivered to me from my Father. No one knows who the Son is, except the Father, and who the Father is, except the Son, and he to whoever the Son desires to reveal him."All things have been delivered to me by my Father, and no one knows who the Son is but the Father, and who the Father is but the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son is pleased to reveal [him].
Luke 10:23And turning to the disciples, he said privately, Blessed [are] the eyes which see the things that ye see: Turning to the disciples, he said privately, "Blessed are the eyes which see the things that you see,And having turned to the disciples privately he said, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see.
Luke 10:24for I say unto you, that many prophets and kings desired to see the things which ye see, and saw them not; and to hear the things which ye hear, and heard them not. for I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see the things which you see, and didn't see them, and to hear the things which you hear, and didn't hear them."For I say to you that many prophets and kings have desired to see the things which ye behold, and did not see [them]; and to hear the things which ye hear, and did not hear [them].
Luke 10:25And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and made trial of him, saying, Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? Behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested him, saying, "Teacher, what will I do to inherit eternal life?"And behold, a certain lawyer stood up tempting him, and saying, Teacher, having done what, shall I inherit life eternal?
Luke 10:26And he said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? He said to him, "What is written in the law? How do you read it?"And he said to him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
Luke 10:27And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself. He answered, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself."But he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thine understanding; and thy neighbour as thyself.
Luke 10:28And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. He said to him, "You have answered correctly. Do this, and you will live."And he said to him, Thou hast answered right: this do and thou shalt live.
Luke 10:29But he, desiring to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbor? But he, desiring to justify himself, asked Jesus, "Who is my neighbor?"But he, desirous of justifying himself, said to Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
Luke 10:30Jesus made answer and said, A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho; and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead. Jesus answered, "A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead.And Jesus replying said, A certain man descended from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell into [the hands of] robbers, who also, having stripped him and inflicted wounds, went away leaving him in a half-dead state.
Luke 10:31And by chance a certain priest was going down that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. By chance a certain priest was going down that way. When he saw him, he passed by on the other side.And a certain priest happened to go down that way, and seeing him, passed on on the opposite side;
Luke 10:32And in like manner a Levite also, when he came to the place, and saw him, passed by on the other side. Luke 10:34and came to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on [them] oil and wine; and he set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. came to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. He set him on his own animal, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.and came up [to him] and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine; and having put him on his own beast, took him to [the] inn and took care of him.
Luke 10:35And on the morrow he took out two shillings, and gave them to the host, and said, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, I, when I come back again, will repay thee. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, and gave them to the host, and said to him, 'Take care of him. Whatever you spend beyond that, I will repay you when I return.'And on the morrow [as he left], taking out two denarii he gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, Take care of him, and whatsoever thou shalt expend more, *I* will render to thee on my coming back.
Luke 10:36Which of these three, thinkest thou, proved neighbor unto him that fell among the robbers? Now which of these three do you think seemed to be a neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?"Which [now] of these three seems to thee to have been neighbour of him who fell into [the hands of] the robbers?
Luke 10:37And he said, He that showed mercy on him. And Jesus said unto him, Go, and do thou likewise. He said, "He who showed mercy on him." Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."And he said, He that shewed him mercy. And Jesus said to him, Go, and do *thou* likewise.
Luke 10:38Now as they went on their way, he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. It happened as they went on their way, he entered into a certain village, and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.And it came to pass as they went that *he* entered into a certain village; and a certain woman, Martha by name, received him into her house.
Luke 10:39And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at the Lord's feet, and heard his word. She had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.And she had a sister called Mary, who also, having sat down at the feet of Jesus was listening to his word.
Luke 10:40But Martha was cumbered about much serving; and she came up to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister did leave me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she came up to him, and said, "Lord, don't you care that my sister left me to serve alone? Ask her therefore to help me."Now Martha was distracted with much serving, and coming up she said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Speak to her therefore that she may help me.
Luke 10:41But the Lord answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art anxious and troubled about many things: Jesus answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things,But Jesus answering said to her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things;
Luke 10:42but one thing is needful: for Mary hath chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her. but one thing is needed. Mary has chosen the good part, which will not be taken away from her."but there is need of one, and Mary has chosen the good part, the which shall not be taken from her.
