Micah 6:1 | Hear ye now what Jehovah saith: Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice. | Hear you now what Yahweh says: Arise, contend you before the mountains, and let the hills hear your voice. | Hear ye what the Lord saith: Arise, contend thou in judgment against the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice. |
Micah 6:2 | Hear, O ye mountains, Jehovah's controversy, and ye enduring foundations of the earth; for Jehovah hath a controversy with his people, and he will contend with Israel. | Hear, you mountains, Yahweh's controversy, and you enduring foundations of the earth; for Yahweh has a controversy with his people, and he will contend with Israel. | Let the mountains hear the judgment of the Lord, and the strong foundations of the earth: for the Lord will enter into judgment with his people, and he will plead against Israel. |
Micah 6:3 | O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me. | My people, what have I done to you? and in which have I wearied you? testify against me. | O my people, what have I done to thee, or in what have I molested thee? answer thou me. |
Micah 6:4 | For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of bondage; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. | For I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage; and I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. | For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and delivered thee out of the house of slaves: and I sent before thy face Moses, and Aaron, and Mary. |
Micah 6:5 | O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab devised, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him; [remember] from Shittim unto Gilgal, that ye may know the righteous acts of Jehovah. | My people, remember now what Balak king of Moab devised, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him; [remember] from Shittim to Gilgal, that you may know the righteous acts of Yahweh. | O my people, remember, I pray thee, what Balach the king of Moab purposed: and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him, from Setim to Galgal, that thou mightest know the justices of the Lord. |
Micah 6:6 | Wherewith shall I come before Jehovah, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt-offerings, with calves a year old? | How shall I come before Yahweh, and bow myself before the high God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? | What shall I offer to the Lord that is worthy? wherewith shall I kneel before the high God? shall I offer holocausts unto him, and calves of a year old? |
Micah 6:7 | will Jehovah be pleased with thousands of rams, [or] with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my first-born for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? | Will Yahweh be pleased with thousands of rams, [or] with ten thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my disobedience, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? | May the Lord be appeased with thousands of rams, or with many thousands of fat he goats? shall I give my firstborn for my wickedness, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? |
Micah 6:8 | He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth Jehovah require of thee, but to do justly, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with thy God? | He has showed you, man, what is good; and what does Yahweh require of you, but to do justly, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? | I will shew thee, O man, what is good, and what the Lord requireth of thee: Verily, to do judgment, and to love mercy, and to walk solicitous with thy God. |
Micah 6:9 | The voice of Jehovah crieth unto the city, and [the man of] wisdom will see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it. | The voice of Yahweh cries to the city, and [the man of] wisdom will see your name: hear you the rod, and who has appointed it. | The voice of the Lord crieth to the city, and salvation shall be to them that fear thy name: hear, O ye tribes, and who shall approve it? |
Micah 6:10 | Are there yet treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and a scant measure that is abominable? | Are there yet treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and a scant measure that is abominable? | As yet there is a fire in the house of the wicked, the treasures of iniquity, and a scant measure full of wrath. |
Micah 6:11 | Shall I be pure with wicked balances, and with a bag of deceitful weights? | Shall I be pure with wicked balances, and with a bag of deceitful weights? | Shall I justify wicked balances, and the deceitful weights of the bag? |
Micah 6:12 | For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth. | For the rich men of it are full of violence, and the inhabitants of it have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth. | By which her rich men were filled with iniquity, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue was deceitful in their mouth. |
Micah 6:13 | Therefore I also have smitten thee with a grievous wound; I have made thee desolate because of thy sins. | Therefore I also have struck you with a grievous wound; I have made you desolate because of your sins. | And I therefore began to strike thee with desolation for thy sins. |
Micah 6:14 | Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy humiliation shall be in the midst of thee: and thou shalt put away, but shalt not save; and that which thou savest will I give up to the sword. | You shall eat, but not be satisfied; and your humiliation shall be in the midst of you: and you shall put away, but shall not save; and that which you save will I give up to the sword. | Thou shalt eat, but shalt not be filled: and thy humiliation shall be in the midst of thee: and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not save: and those whom thou shalt save, I will give up to the sword. |
Micah 6:15 | Thou shalt sow, but shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but shalt not anoint thee with oil; and the vintage, but shalt not drink the wine. | You shall sow, but shall not reap; you shall tread the olives, but shall not anoint you with oil; and the vintage, but shall not drink the wine. | Thou shalt sow, but shalt not reap: thou shalt tread the olives, but shalt not be anointed with the oil: and the new wine, but shalt not drink the wine. |
Micah 6:16 | For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I may make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof a hissing: and ye shall bear the reproach of my people. | For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and you walk in their counsels; that I may make you a desolation, and the inhabitants of it a hissing: and you shall bear the reproach of my people. | For thou hast kept the statutes of Amri, and all the works of the house of Achab: and thou hast walked according to their wills, that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof a hissing, and you shall bear the reproach of my people. |
