Mark 14:1 | Now after two days was [the feast of] the passover and the unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him with subtlety, and kill him: | It was now two days before the feast of the Passover and the unleavened bread, and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might sieze him by deception, and kill him. | It was now two days before the Passover and the feast of Unleavened Bread, and the High Priests and Scribes were bent on finding how to seize Him by stratagem and put Him to death. |
Mark 14:2 | for they said, Not during the feast, lest haply there shall be a tumult of the people. | For they said, "Not during the feast, because there might be a riot of the people." | But they said, "Not on the Festival-day, for fear there should be a riot among the people." |

She broke the jar, and poured it over his head. | Now when He was at Bethany, in the house of Simon the Leper, while He was at table, there came a woman with a jar of pure, sweet-scented ointment very costly: she broke the jar and poured the ointment over His head. |

Mark 14:5 | For this ointment might have been sold for above three hundred shillings, and given to the poor. And they murmured against her. | For this might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii, and given to the poor." They grumbled against her. | For that ointment might have been sold for fifteen pounds or more, and the money have been given to the poor." And they were exceedingly angry with her. |
Mark 14:6 | But Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me. | But Jesus said, "Leave her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for me. | But Jesus said, "Leave her alone: why are you troubling her? She has done a most gracious act towards me. |
Mark 14:7 | For ye have the poor always with you, and whensoever ye will ye can do them good: but me ye have not always. | For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you want to, you can do them good; but you will not always have me. | For you always have the poor among you, and whenever you choose you can do acts of kindness to them; but me you have not always. |
Mark 14:8 | She hath done what she could; she hath anointed my body beforehand for the burying. | She has done what she could. She has anointed my body beforehand for the burying. | What she could she did: she has perfumed my body in preparation for my burial. |
Mark 14:9 | And verily I say unto you, Wheresoever the gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, that also which this woman hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her. | Most assuredly I tell you, wherever this gospel may be preached throughout the whole world, that also which this woman has done will be spoken of for a memorial of her." | And I solemnly tell you that wherever in the whole world the Good News shall be proclaimed, this which she has done shall also be told in remembrance of her." |

Mark 14:15 | And he will himself show you a large upper room furnished [and] ready: and there make ready for us. | He will himself show you a large upper room furnished and ready. It would be better for that man if he had not been born." | For the Son of Man is going His way as it is written about Him; but alas for the man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It had been a happy thing for that man, had he never been born." |

Mark 14:31 | But he spake exceedingly vehemently, If I must die with thee, I will not deny thee. And in like manner also said they all. | But he spoke all the more, "If I must die with you, I will not deny you." It is enough. The hour has come. Behold, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. | A third time He came, and then He said, "Sleep on and rest. Enough! the hour has come. Mark 14:49 | I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but [this is done] that the scriptures might be fulfilled. | I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you didn't arrest me. He was sitting with the officers, and warming himself in the light of the fire. | Peter followed Jesus at a distance, as far as the outer court of the High Priest's palace. But there he remained sitting among the officers, and warming himself by the fire. |

Mark 14:56 | For many bare false witness against him, and their witness agreed not together. | For many gave false testimony against him, and their testimony didn't agree with each other. | for though many gave false testimony against Him, their statements did not tally. |
Mark 14:57 | And there stood up certain, and bare false witness against him, saying, | Some stood up, and gave false testimony against him, saying, | Then some came forward as witnesses and falsely declared, |
Mark 14:58 | We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands. | "We heard him say, 'I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands.'" | "We have heard him say, `I will pull down this Sanctuary built by human hands, and three days afterwards I will erect another built without hands.'" |

Mark 14:60 | And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee? | The high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, "Have you no answer? What is it which these testify against you?" | At last the High Priest stood up, and advancing into the midst of them all, asked Jesus, "Have you no answer to make? What is the meaning of all this that these witnesses allege against you?" |
Mark 14:61 | But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and saith unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? | But he stayed quiet, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?" | But He remained silent, and gave no reply. A second time the High Priest questioned Him. "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?" he said. |

Mark 14:65 | And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the officers received him with blows of their hands. | Some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to beat him with fists, and to tell him, "Prophesy!" The officers struck him with the palms of their hands. | Thereupon some began to spit on Him, and to blindfold Him, while striking Him with their fists and crying, "Prove that you are a prophet." The officers too struck Him with open hands as they took Him in charge. |

Mark 14:67 | and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and saith, Thou also wast with the Nazarene, [even] Jesus. | and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked at him, and said, "You were also with the Nazarene, Jesus." | and seeing Peter warming himself she looked at him and said, "You also were with Jesus, the Nazarene." |
Mark 14:68 | But he denied, saying, I neither know, nor understand what thou sayest: and he went out into the porch; and the cock crew. | But he denied it, saying, "I neither know, nor understand what you are saying." He went out into the porch, and the cock crowed. | But he denied it, and said, "I don't know I don't understand What do you mean?" And then he went out into the outer court. Just then a cock crowed. |
Mark 14:69 | And the maid saw him, and began again to say to them that stood by, This is [one] of them. | The maid saw him, and began again to tell those who stood by, "This is one of them." | Again the maidservant saw him, and again began to say to the people standing by, "He is one of them." |
Mark 14:70 | But he again denied it. And after a little while again they that stood by said to Peter, of a truth thou art [one] of them; for thou art a Galilaean. | But he again denied it. After a little while again those who stood by said to Peter, "You truly are one of them, for you are a Galilean, and your speech shows it." | A second time he repeatedly denied it. Soon afterwards the bystanders again accused Peter, saying, "You are surely one of them, for you too are a Galilaean." |
Mark 14:71 | But he began to curse, and to swear, I know not this man of whom ye speak. | But he began to curse, and to swear, "I don't know this man of whom you speak!" | But he broke out into curses and oaths, declaring, "I know nothing of the man you are talking about." |
Mark 14:72 | And straightway the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word, how that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept. | The cock crowed the second time. Peter remembered the word, how that Jesus said to him, "Before the cock crows twice, you will deny me three times." When he thought about that, he wept. | No sooner had he spoken than a cock crowed for the second time, and Peter recollected the words of Jesus, "Before the cock crows twice, you will three times disown me." And as he thought of it, he wept aloud. |
