Galatians 2:1Then after the space of fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus also with me. Then, after fourteen years again I went up to Jerusalem with Barnabas, having taken with me also Titus; Then, after fourteen years, I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus also with me.
Galatians 2:2And I went up by revelation; and I laid before them the gospel which I preach among the Gentiles but privately before them who were of repute, lest by any means I should be running, or had run, in vain. and I went up by revelation, and did submit to them the good news that I preach among the nations, and privately to those esteemed, lest in vain I might run or did run;And I went up according to revelation; and communicated to them the gospel, which I preach among the Gentiles, but apart to them who seemed to be some thing: lest perhaps I should run, or had run in vain.
Galatians 2:3But not even Titus who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised: but not even Titus, who [is] with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcisedBut neither Titus, who was with me, being a Gentile, was compelled to be circumcised.
Galatians 2:4and that because of the false brethren privily brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: and [that] because of the false brethren brought in unawares, who did come in privily to spy out our liberty that we have in Christ Jesus, that us they might bring under bondage,But because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privately to spy our liberty, which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into servitude.
Galatians 2:5to whom we gave place in the way of subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you. to whom not even for an hour we gave place by subjection, that the truth of the good news might remain to you.To whom we yielded not by subjection, no not for an hour, that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.
Galatians 2:6But from those who were reputed to be somewhat (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth not man's person)-- they, I say, who were of repute imparted nothing to me: And from those who were esteemed to be something whatever they were then, it maketh no difference to me the face of man God accepteth not, for to me those esteemed did add nothing,But of them who seemed to be some thing, (what they were some time, it is nothing to me, God accepteth not the person of man,) for to me they that seemed to be some thing added nothing.
Galatians 2:7but contrariwise, when they saw that I had been intrusted with the gospel of the uncircumcision, even as Peter with [the gospel] of the circumcision but, on the contrary, having seen that I have been entrusted with the good news of the uncircumcision, as Peter with [that] of the circumcision,But contrariwise, when they had seen that to me was committed the gospel of the uncircumcision, as to Peter was that of the circumcision.
Galatians 2:8(for he that wrought for Peter unto the apostleship of the circumcision wrought for me also unto the Gentiles); for He who did work with Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, did work also in me in regard to the nations,(For he who wrought in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, wrought in me also among the Gentiles.)
Galatians 2:9and when they perceived the grace that was given unto me, James and Cephas and John, they who were reputed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship, that we should go unto the Gentiles, and they unto the circumcision; and having known the grace that was given to me, James, and Cephas, and John, who were esteemed to be pillars, a right hand of fellowship they did give to me, and to Barnabas, that we to the nations, and they to the circumcision [may go],And when they had known the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, who seemed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship: that we should go unto the Gentiles, and they unto the circumcision:
Galatians 2:10only [they would] that we should remember the poor; which very thing I was also zealous to do. only, of the poor that we should be mindful, which also I was diligent this very thing to do.Only that we should be mindful of the poor: which same thing also I was careful to do.
Galatians 2:11But when Cephas came to Antioch, I resisted him to the face, because he stood condemned. And when Peter came to Antioch, to the face I stood up against him, because he was blameworthy,But when Cephas was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.
Galatians 2:12For before that certain came from James, he ate with the Gentiles; but when they came, he drew back and separated himself, fearing them that were of the circumcision. for before the coming of certain from James, with the nations he was eating, and when they came, he was withdrawing and separating himself, fearing those of the circumcision,For before that some came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them who were of the circumcision.
Galatians 2:13And the rest of the Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that even Barnabas was carried away with their dissimulation. and dissemble with him also did the other Jews, so that also Barnabas was carried away by their dissimulation. And to his dissimulation the rest of the Jews consented, so that Barnabas also was led by them into that dissimulation.
Galatians 2:14But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Cephas before [them] all, If thou, being a Jew, livest as do the Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, how compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews? But when I saw that they are not walking uprightly to the truth of the good news, I said to Peter before all, `If thou, being a Jew, in the manner of the nations dost live, and not in the manner of the Jews, how the nations dost thou compel to Judaize? But when I saw that they walked not uprightly unto the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas before them all: If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of the Gentiles, and not as the Jews do, how dost thou compel the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?
Galatians 2:15We being Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, we by nature Jews, and not sinners of the nations,We by nature are Jews, and not of the Gentiles sinners.
Galatians 2:16yet knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we believed on Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law: because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. having known also that a man is not declared righteous by works of law, if not through the faith of Jesus Christ, also we in Christ Jesus did believe, that we might be declared righteous by the faith of Christ, and not by works of law, wherefore declared righteous by works of law shall be no flesh.`But knowing that man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ; we also believe in Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: because by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.
Galatians 2:17But if, while we sought to be justified in Christ, we ourselves also were found sinners, is Christ a minister of sin? God forbid. And if, seeking to be declared righteous in Christ, we ourselves also were found sinners, [is] then Christ a ministrant of sin? let it not be!But if while we seek to be justified in Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners; is Christ then the minister of sin? God forbid.
Galatians 2:18For if I build up again those things which I destroyed, I prove myself a transgressor. for if the things I threw down, these again I build up, a transgressor I set myself forth; For if I build up again the things which I have destroyed, I make myself a prevaricator.
Galatians 2:19For I through the law died unto the law, that I might live unto God. for I through law, did die, that to God I may live; For I, through the law, am dead to the law, that I may live to God: with Christ I am nailed to the cross.
Galatians 2:20I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me: and that [life] which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, [the faith] which is in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me. with Christ I have been crucified, and live no more do I, and Christ doth live in me; and that which I now live in the flesh in the faith I live of the Son of God, who did love me and did give himself for me;And I live, now not I; but Christ liveth in me. And that I live now in the flesh: I live in the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and delivered himself for me.
Galatians 2:21I do not make void the grace of God: for if righteousness is through the law, then Christ died for nought. I do not make void the grace of God, for if righteousness [be] through law then Christ died in vain.I cast not away the grace of God. For if justice be by the law, then Christ died in vain.
