1st-Peter 5:1The elders among you I exhort, who am a fellow-elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, who am also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: Elders who [are] among you, I exhort, who [am] a fellow-elder, and a witness of the sufferings of the Christ, and of the glory about to be revealed a partaker,The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
1st-Peter 5:2Tend the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not of constraint, but willingly, according to [the will of] God; nor yet for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; feed the flock of God that [is] among you, overseeing not constrainedly, but willingly, neither for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind,Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
1st-Peter 5:3neither as lording it over the charge allotted to you, but making yourselves ensamples to the flock. neither as exercising lordship over the heritages, but patterns becoming of the flock,Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
1st-Peter 5:4And when the chief Shepherd shall be manifested, ye shall receive the crown of glory that fadeth not away. and at the manifestation of the chief Shepherd, ye shall receive the unfading crown of glory.And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
1st-Peter 5:5Likewise, ye younger, be subject unto the elder. Yea, all of you gird yourselves with humility, to serve one another: for God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble. In like manner, ye younger, be subject to elders, and all to one another subjecting yourselves; with humble-mindedness clothe yourselves, because God the proud doth resist, but to the humble He doth give grace;Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
1st-Peter 5:6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time; be humbled, then, under the powerful hand of God, that you He may exalt in good time,Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
1st-Peter 5:7casting all your anxiety upon him, because he careth for you. all your care having cast upon Him, because He careth for you.Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
1st-Peter 5:8Be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour, Be sober, vigilant, because your opponent the devil, as a roaring lion, doth walk about, seeking whom he may swallow up,Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1st-Peter 5:9whom withstand stedfast in your faith, knowing that the same sufferings are accomplished in your brethren who are in the world. whom resist, stedfast in the faith, having known the same sufferings to your brotherhood in the world to be accomplished.Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
1st-Peter 5:10And the God of all grace, who called you unto his eternal glory in Christ, after that ye have suffered a little while, shall himself perfect, establish, strengthen you. And the God of all grace, who did call you to His age-during glory in Christ Jesus, having suffered a little, Himself make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle [you];But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
1st-Peter 5:11To him [be] the dominion for ever and ever. Amen. to Him [is] the glory, and the power to the ages and the ages! Amen.To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
1st-Peter 5:12By Silvanus, our faithful brother, as I account [him], I have written unto you briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand ye fast therein. Through Silvanus, to you the faithful brother, as I reckon, through few [words] I did write, exhorting and testifying this to be the true grace of God in which ye have stood.By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand.
1st-Peter 5:13She that is in Babylon, elect together with [you], saluteth you; and [so doth] Mark my son. Salute you doth the [assembly] in Babylon jointly elected, and Markus my son.The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son.
