| Acts 28:1 | And when we were escaped, then we knew that the island was called Melita. | And having been saved, then they knew that the island is called Melita, | And when they had escaped, then they knew that the isle was called Melita. |
| Acts 28:2 | And the barbarians showed us no common kindness; for they kindled a fire, and received us all, because of the present rain, and because of the cold. | and the foreigners were shewing us no ordinary kindness, for having kindled a fire, they received us all, because of the pressing rain, and because of the cold; | And the barbarous people showed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold. |

And when they were assembled, he said to them, Men, brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet I was delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans. |
