1st-Peter 4:1Forasmuch then as Christ suffered in the flesh, arm ye yourselves also with the same mind; for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; Christ, then, having suffered for us in the flesh, ye also with the same mind arm yourselves, because he who did suffer in the flesh hath done with sin,Forasmuch then as Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind; for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin;
1st-Peter 4:2that ye no longer should live the rest of your time in flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. no more in the desires of men, but in the will of God, to live the rest of the time in the flesh;that you no longer should live the rest of your time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
1st-Peter 4:3For the time past may suffice to have wrought the desire of the Gentiles, and to have walked in lasciviousness, lusts, winebibbings, revellings, carousings, and abominable idolatries: for sufficient to us [is] the past time of life the will of the nations to have wrought, having walked in lasciviousnesses, desires, excesses of wines, revelings, drinking-bouts, and unlawful idolatries,For we have spent enough of our past time living in doing the desire of the Gentiles, and to have walked in lasciviousness, lusts, drunken binges, orgies, carousings, and abominable idolatries.
1st-Peter 4:4wherein they think strange that ye run not with [them] into the same excess of riot, speaking evil of [you]: in which they think it strange your not running with them to the same excess of dissoluteness, speaking evil,They think it is strange that you don't run with them into the same excess of riot, blaspheming:
1st-Peter 4:5who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the living and the dead. who shall give an account to Him who is ready to judge living and dead,who will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
1st-Peter 4:6For unto this end was the gospel preached even to the dead, that they might be judged indeed according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. for for this also to dead men was good news proclaimed, that they may be judged, indeed, according to men in the flesh, and may live according to God in the spirit.For to this end was the gospel preached even to the dead, that they might be judged indeed as men in the flesh, but live as to God in the spirit.
1st-Peter 4:7But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore of sound mind, and be sober unto prayer: And of all things the end hath come nigh; be sober-minded, then, and watch unto the prayers,But the end of all things is near. Therefore be of sound mind, self-controlled, and sober in prayer.
1st-Peter 4:8above all things being fervent in your love among yourselves; for love covereth a multitude of sins: and, before all things, to one another having the earnest love, because the love shall cover a multitude of sins;And above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins.
1st-Peter 4:9using hospitality one to another without murmuring: hospitable to one another, without murmuring;Be hospitable one to another without grumbling.
1st-Peter 4:10according as each hath received a gift, ministering it among yourselves, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God; each, according as he received a gift, to one another ministering it, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God;According as each has received a gift, be ministering it among yourselves, as good stewards of the grace of God in its various forms.
1st-Peter 4:11if any man speaketh, [speaking] as it were oracles of God; is any man ministereth, [ministering] as of the strength which God supplieth: that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, whose is the glory and the dominion for ever and ever. Amen. if any one doth speak `as oracles of God;` if any one doth minister `as of the ability which God doth supply;` that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom is the glory and the power to the ages of the ages. Amen.If any man speaks, let it be as it were oracles of God. If any man serves, let it be as of the strength which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, whose is the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
1st-Peter 4:12Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial among you, which cometh upon you to prove you, as though a strange thing happened unto you: Beloved, think it not strange at the fiery suffering among you that is coming to try you, as if a strange thing were happening to you,Beloved, don't be astonished at the fiery trial which has come upon you, to test you, as though a strange thing happened to you.
1st-Peter 4:13but insomuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings, rejoice; that at the revelation of his glory also ye may rejoice with exceeding joy. but, according as ye have fellowship with the sufferings of the Christ, rejoice ye, that also in the revelation of his glory ye may rejoice exulting;But because you are partakers of Christ's sufferings, rejoice; that at the revelation of his glory also you may rejoice with exceeding joy.
1st-Peter 4:14If ye are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed [are ye]; because the [Spirit] of glory and the Spirit of God resteth upon you. if ye be reproached in the name of Christ happy [are ye], because the Spirit of glory and of God upon you doth rest; in regard, indeed, to them, he is evil-spoken of, and in regard to you, he is glorified;If you are insulted for the name of Christ, blessed are you; because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. On their part he is blasphemed, but on your part he is glorified.
1st-Peter 4:15For let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil-doer, or as a meddler in other men's matters: for let none of you suffer as a murderer, or thief, or evil-doer, or as an inspector into other men`s matters;For let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil doer, or as a meddler in other men's matters.
1st-Peter 4:16but if [a man suffer] as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God in this name. and if as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; and let him glorify God in this respect;But if one of you suffers for being a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God in this matter.
1st-Peter 4:17For the time [is come] for judgment to begin at the house of God: and if [it begin] first at us, what [shall be] the end of them that obey not the gospel of God? because it is the time of the beginning of the judgment from the house of God, and if first from us, what the end of those disobedient to the good news of God?For the time [has come] for judgment to begin at the house of God. If it begins first at us, what will happen to those who don't obey the gospel of God?
1st-Peter 4:18And if the righteous is scarcely saved, where shall the ungodly and sinner appear? And if the righteous man is scarcely saved, the ungodly and sinner where shall he appear?"If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will happen to the ungodly and the sinner?"
1st-Peter 4:19Wherefore let them also that suffer according to the will of God commit their souls in well-doing unto a faithful Creator. so that also those suffering according to the will of god, as to a stedfast Creator, let them commit their own souls in good doing.Therefore let them also who suffer according to the will of God in doing good entrust their souls to him, as to a faithful Creator.
