Matthew 24:1And Jesus went out of the Temple, and on the way his disciples came to him, pointing out the buildings of the Temple.And Jesus went out from the temple, and was going on his way; and his disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple. Jesus had left the Temple and was going on His way, when His disciples came and called His attention to the Temple buildings.
Matthew 24:2But he, answering, said to them, See you not all these things? truly I say to you that here there will not be one stone resting on another, which will not be pulled down.But he answered and said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. "You see all these?" He replied; "in solemn truth I tell you that there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be pulled down."
Matthew 24:3And while he was seated on the Mountain of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, Make clear to us, when will these things be? and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the world?And as he sat on the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? Afterwards He was on the Mount of Olives and was seated there when the disciples came to Him, apart from the others, and said, "Tell us when this will be; and what will be the sign of your Coming and of the Close of the Age?"
Matthew 24:4And Jesus said to them in answer, Take care that you are not tricked.And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man lead you astray. "Take care that no one misleads you," answered Jesus;
Matthew 24:5For people will come in my name, saying, I am the Christ; and a number will be turned from the true way through them.For many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ; and shall lead many astray. "for many will come assuming my name and saying `I am the Christ;' and they will mislead many.
Matthew 24:6And news will come to you of wars and talk of wars: do not be troubled, for these things have to be; but it is still not the end.And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that ye be not troubled: for [these things] must needs come to pass; but the end is not yet. And before long you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. Do not be alarmed, for such things must be; but the End is not yet.
Matthew 24:7For nation will be moved against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and men will be without food, and the earth will be shaking in different places;For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines and earthquakes in divers places. For nation will rise in arms against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places;
Matthew 24:8But all these things are the first of the troubles.But all these things are the beginning of travail. but all these miseries are but like the early pains of childbirth.
Matthew 24:9Then they will be cruel to you, and will put you to death: and you will be hated by all nations because of my name.Then shall they deliver you up unto tribulation, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all the nations for my name's sake. "At that time they will deliver you up to punishment and will put you to death; and you will be objects of hatred to all the nations because you are called by my name.
Matthew 24:10And numbers of people will be turned from the right way, and will give one another up and have hate for one another.And then shall many stumble, and shall deliver up one another, and shall hate one another. Then will many stumble and fall, and they will betray one another and hate one another.
Matthew 24:11And a number of false prophets will come, causing error.And many false prophets shall arise, and shall lead many astray. Many false prophets will rise up and lead multitudes astray;
Matthew 24:12And because wrongdoing will be increased, the love of most people will become cold.And because iniquity shall be multiplied, the love of the many shall wax cold. and because of the prevalent disregard of God's law the love of the great majority will grow cold;
Matthew 24:13But he who goes through to the end will get salvation.But he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved. but those who stand firm to the End shall be saved.
Matthew 24:14And this good news of the kingdom will be given through all the world for a witness to all nations; and then the end will come.And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a testimony unto all the nations; and then shall the end come. And this Good News of the Kingdom shall be proclaimed throughout the whole world to set the evidence before all the Gentiles; and then the End will come.
Matthew 24:15When, then, you see in the holy place the unclean thing which makes destruction, of which word was given by Daniel the prophet (let this be clear to the reader),When therefore ye see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let him that readeth understand), "When you have seen (to use the language of the Prophet Daniel) the `Abomination of Desolation', standing in the Holy Place" let the reader observe those words
Matthew 24:16Then let those who are in Judaea go in flight to the mountains:then let them that are in Judaea flee unto the mountains: "then let those who are in Judaea escape to the hills;
Matthew 24:17Let not him who is on the house-top go down to take anything out of his house:let him that is on the housetop not go down to take out things that are in his house: let him who is on the roof not go down to fetch what is in his house;
Matthew 24:18And let not him who is in the field go back to get his coat.and let him that is in the field not return back to take his cloak. nor let him who is outside the city stay to pick up his outer garment.
Matthew 24:19But it will be hard for women who are with child and for those with babies at the breast in those days.But woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days! And alas for the women who at that time are with child or have infants!
Matthew 24:20And say a prayer that your flight may not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath.And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on a sabbath: "But pray that your flight may not be in winter, nor on the Sabbath;
Matthew 24:21Because in those days there will be great sorrow, such as there has not been from the start of the world till now, or ever will be.for then shall be great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shall be. for it will be a time of great suffering, such as never has been from the beginning of the world till now, and assuredly never will be again.
Matthew 24:22And if those days had not been made short there would have been no salvation for any, but because of the saints those days will be made short.And except those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. And if those days had not been cut short, no one would escape; but for the sake of God's own People those days will be cut short.
Matthew 24:23Then if any man says to you, See, here is the Christ, or, Here; do not put faith in him;Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is the Christ, or, Here; believe [it] not. "If at that time any one should say to you, `See, here is the Christ!' or `Here!' give no credence to it.
Matthew 24:24For there will come up false Christs, and false prophets, who will do great signs and wonders; so that if possible even the saints might be tricked.For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. For there will rise up false Christs and false prophets, displaying wonderful signs and prodigies, so as to deceive, were it possible, even God's own People.
Matthew 24:25See, I have made it clear to you before it comes about.Behold, I have told you beforehand. Remember, I have forewarned you.
Matthew 24:26If, then, they say to you, See, he is in the waste land; go not out: See, he is in the inner rooms; put no faith in it.If therefore they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the wilderness; go not forth: Behold, he is in the inner chambers; believe [it] not. If therefore they should say to you, `See, He is in the Desert!' do not go out there: or `See, He is indoors in the room!' do not believe it.
Matthew 24:27Because as in a thunderstorm the bright light coming from the east is seen even in the west; so will be the coming of the Son of man.For as the lightning cometh forth from the east, and is seen even unto the west; so shall be the coming of the Son of man. For just as the lightning flashes in the east and is seen to the very west, so will be the Coming of the Son of Man.
Matthew 24:28Wherever the dead body is, there will the eagles come together.Wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. Wherever the dead body is, there will the vultures flock together.
Matthew 24:29But straight away, after the trouble of those days, the sun will be made dark and the moon will not give her light and the stars will come down from heaven and the powers of heaven will be moved:But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: "But immediately after those times of distress the sun will be darkened, the moon will not shed her light, the stars will fall from the firmament, and the forces which control the heavens will be disordered and disturbed.
Matthew 24:30And then the sign of the Son of man will be seen in heaven: and then all the nations of the earth will have sorrow, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. Then will appear the Sign of the Son of Man in the sky; and then will all the nations of the earth lament, when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with great power and glory.
Matthew 24:31And he will send out his angels with a great sound of a horn, and they will get his saints together from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.And he shall send forth his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. And He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet-blast, and they will bring together His own People to Him from north, south, east and west from one extremity of the world to the other.
Matthew 24:32Now take an example from the fig-tree: when her branch has become soft and puts out its leaves, you are certain that the summer is near;Now from the fig tree learn her parable: when her branch is now become tender, and putteth forth its leaves, ye know that the summer is nigh; "Now learn from the fig-tree the lesson it teaches. As soon as its branches have now become soft and it is bursting into leaf, you all know that summer is near.
Matthew 24:33Even so, when you see all these things, you may be certain that he is near, even at the doors.even so ye also, when ye see all these things, know ye that he is nigh, [even] at the doors. So you also, when you see all these signs, may be sure that He is near at your very door.
Matthew 24:34Truly I say to you, This generation will not come to an end till all these things are complete.Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all these things be accomplished. I tell you in solemn truth that the present generation will certainly not pass away without all these things having first taken place.
Matthew 24:35Heaven and earth will come to an end, but my words will not come to an end.Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Earth and sky will pass away, but it is certain that my words will not pass away.
Matthew 24:36But of that day and hour no one has knowledge, not even the angels in heaven, or the Son, but the Father only.But of that day and hour knoweth no one, not even the angels of heaven, neither the Son, but the Father only. "But as to that day and the exact time no one knows not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.
Matthew 24:37And as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of man.And as [were] the days of Noah, so shall be the coming of the Son of man. `For as it was in the time of Noah, so it will be at the Coming of the Son of Man.
Matthew 24:38Because as in those days before the overflowing of the waters, they were feasting and taking wives and getting married, till the day when Noah went into the ark,For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, At that time, before the Deluge, men were busy eating and drinking, taking wives or giving them, up to the very day when Noah entered the Ark,
Matthew 24:39And they had no care till the waters came and took them all away; so will be the coming of the Son of man.and they knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall be the coming of the Son of man. nor did they realise any danger till the Deluge came and swept them all away; so will it be at the Coming of the Son of Man.
Matthew 24:40Then two men will be in the field; one is taken, and one let go;Then shall two man be in the field; one is taken, and one is left: Then will two men be in the open country: one will be taken away, and one left behind.
Matthew 24:41Two women will be crushing grain; one is taken, and one let go.two women [shall be] grinding at the mill; one is taken, and one is left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken away, and one left behind.
Matthew 24:42Be watching, then! for you have no knowledge on what day your Lord will come.Watch therefore: for ye know not on what day your Lord cometh. Be on the alert therefore, for you do not know the day on which your Lord is coming.
Matthew 24:43But be certain of this, that if the master of the house had had knowledge of the time when the thief was coming, he would have been watching, and would not have let his house be broken into.But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken through. But of this be assured, that if the master of the house had known the hour at which the robber was coming, he would have kept awake, and not have allowed his house to be broken into.
Matthew 24:44Be ready then; for at a time which you have no thought of the Son of man will come.Therefore be ye also ready; for in an hour that ye think not the Son of man cometh. Therefore you also must be ready; for it is at a time when you do not expect Him that the Son of Man will come.
Matthew 24:45Who is the true and wise servant, whom his lord has put over those in his house, to give them their food at the right time?Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath set over his household, to give them their food in due season? "Who therefore is the loyal and intelligent servant to whom his master has entrusted the control of his household to give them their rations at the appointed time?
Matthew 24:46A blessing on that servant, who will be doing so when his lord comes.Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Blessed is that servant whom his master when he comes shall find so doing!
Matthew 24:47Truly, I say to you, he will put him over all he has.Verily I say unto you, that he will set him over all that he hath. In solemn truth I tell you that he will give him the management of all his wealth.
Matthew 24:48But if that evil servant says in his heart, My lord is a long time in coming;But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord tarrieth; But if the man, being a bad servant, should say in his heart, `My master is a long time in coming,'
Matthew 24:49And is cruel to the other servants, taking his pleasure with those who are overcome with wine;and shall begin to beat his fellow-servants, and shall eat and drink with the drunken; and should begin to beat his fellow servants, while he eats and drinks with drunkards;
Matthew 24:50The lord of that servant will come in a day when he is not looking for him, and in an hour of which he has no knowledge,the lord of that servant shall come in a day when he expecteth not, and in an hour when he knoweth not, the master of that servant will arrive on a day when he is not expecting him and at an hour of which he has not been informed;
Matthew 24:51And will have him cut in two, and will give him a part in the fate of the false ones: there will be weeping and cries of sorrow.and shall cut him asunder, and appoint his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth. he will treat him with the utmost severity and assign him a place among the hypocrites: there will be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
