Exodus 19:1In the third month after the children of Israel went out from Egypt, on the same day, they came into the waste land of Sinai.In the third month after the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai. In the third month of the going out of the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt, in this day they have come into the wilderness of Sinai,
Exodus 19:2And when they had gone away from Rephidim and had come into the waste land of Sinai, they put up their tents in the waste land before the mountain: there Israel put up its tents.And when they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the wilderness of Sinai, they encamped in the wilderness; and there Israel encamped before the mount. and they journey from Rephidim, and enter the wilderness of Sinai, and encamp in the wilderness; and Israel encampeth there before the mount.
Exodus 19:3And Moses went up to God, and the voice of the Lord came to him from the mountain, saying, Say to the family of Jacob, and give word to the children of Israel:And Moses went up unto God, and Jehovah called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel: And Moses hath gone up unto God, and Jehovah calleth unto him out of the mount, saying, `Thus dost thou say to the house of Jacob, and declare to the sons of Israel,
Exodus 19:4You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I took you, as on eagles' wings, guiding you to myself.Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself. Ye ye have seen that which I have done to the Egyptians, and I bear you on eagles` wings, and bring you in unto Myself.
Exodus 19:5If now you will truly give ear to my voice and keep my agreement, you will be my special property out of all the peoples: for all the earth is mine:Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be mine own possession from among all peoples: for all the earth is mine: `And now, if ye really hearken to My voice, then ye have kept My covenant, and been to Me a peculiar treasure more than all the peoples, for all the earth [is] Mine;
Exodus 19:6And you will be a kingdom of priests to me, and a holy nation. These are the words which you are to say to the children of Israel.and ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel. and ye ye are to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation: these [are] the words which thou dost speak unto the sons of Israel.`
Exodus 19:7And Moses came and sent for the chiefs of the people and put before them all these words which the Lord had given him orders to say.And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and set before them all these words which Jehovah commanded him. And Moses cometh, and calleth for the elders of the people, and setteth before them all these words which Jehovah hath commanded him;
Exodus 19:8And all the people, answering together, said, Whatever the Lord has said we will do. And Moses took back to the Lord the words of the people.And all the people answered together, and said, All that Jehovah hath spoken we will do. And Moses reported the words of the people unto Jehovah. and all the people answer together and say, `All that Jehovah hath spoken we do;` and Moses returneth the words of the people unto Jehovah.
Exodus 19:9And the Lord said to Moses, See, I will come to you in a thick cloud, so that what I say to you may come to the ears of the people and they may have belief in you for ever. And Moses gave the Lord word of what the people had said.And Jehovah said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and may also believe thee for ever. And Moses told the words of the people unto Jehovah. And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Lo, I am coming unto thee in the thickness of the cloud, so that the people hear in My speaking with thee, and also believe in thee to the age;` and Moses declareth the words of the people unto Jehovah.
Exodus 19:10And the Lord said to Moses, Go to the people and make them holy today and tomorrow, and let their clothing be washed.And Jehovah said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them to-day and to-morrow, and let them wash their garments, And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Go unto the people; and thou hast sanctified them to-day and to-morrow, and they have washed their garments,
Exodus 19:11And by the third day let them be ready: for on the third day the Lord will come down on Mount Sinai, before the eyes of all the people.and be ready against the third day; for the third day Jehovah will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai. and have been prepared for the third day; for on the third day doth Jehovah come down before the eyes of all the people, on mount Sinai.
Exodus 19:12And let limits be marked out for the people round the mountain, and say to them, Take care not to go up the mountain or near the sides of it: whoever puts his foot on the mountain will certainly come to his death:And thou shalt set bounds unto the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that ye go not up into the mount, or touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth the mount shall be surely put to death: `And thou hast made a border [for] the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, going up into the mount, or coming against its extremity; whoever is coming against the mount is certainly put to death;
Exodus 19:13He is not to be touched by a hand, but is to be stoned or have an arrow put through him; man or beast, he is to be put to death: at the long sounding of a horn they may come up to the mountain.no hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast or man, he shall not live: when the trumpet soundeth long, they shall come up to the mount. a hand cometh not against him, for he is certainly stoned or shot through, whether beast or man it liveth not; in the drawing out of the jubilee cornet they go up into the mount.`
Exodus 19:14Then Moses went down from the mountain to the people, and made the people holy; and their clothing was washed.And Moses went down from the mount unto the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their garments. And Moses cometh down from the mount unto the people, and sanctifieth the people, and they wash their garments;
Exodus 19:15And he said to the people, Be ready by the third day: do not come near a woman.And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day: come not near a woman. and he saith unto the people, `Be ye prepared for the third day, come not nigh unto a woman.`
Exodus 19:16And when morning came on the third day, there were thunders and flames and a thick cloud on the mountain, and a horn sounding very loud; and all the people in the tents were shaking with fear.And it came to pass on the third day, when it was morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of a trumpet exceeding loud; and all the people that were in the camp trembled. And it cometh to pass, on the third day, while it is morning, that there are voices, and lightnings, and a heavy cloud, on the mount, and the sound of a trumpet very strong; and all the people who [are] in the camp do tremble.
Exodus 19:17And Moses made the people come out of their tents and take their places before God; and they came to the foot of the mountain,And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount. And Moses bringeth out the people to meet God from the camp, and they station themselves at the lower part of the mount,
Exodus 19:18And all the mountain of Sinai was smoking, for the Lord had come down on it in fire: and the smoke of it went up like the smoke of a great burning; and all the mountain was shaking.And mount Sinai, the whole of it, smoked, because Jehovah descended upon it in fire; and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. and mount Sinai [is] wholly a smoke from the presence of Jehovah, who hath come down on it in fire, and its smoke goeth up as smoke of the furnace, and the whole mount trembleth exceedingly;
Exodus 19:19And when the sound of the horn became louder and louder, Moses' words were answered by the voice of God.And when the voice of the trumpet waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice. and the sound of the trumpet is going on, and very strong; Moses speaketh, and God doth answer him with a voice.
Exodus 19:20Then the Lord came down on to Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain, and the Lord sent for Moses to come up to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.And Jehovah came down upon mount Sinai, to the top of the mount: and Jehovah called Moses to the top of the mount; and Moses went up. And Jehovah cometh down on mount Sinai, unto the top of the mount, and Jehovah calleth for Moses unto the top of the mount, and Moses goeth up.
Exodus 19:21And the Lord said to Moses, Go down and give the people orders to keep back, for fear that a great number of them, forcing their way through to see the Lord, may come to destruction.And Jehovah said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest they break through unto Jehovah to gaze, and many of them perish. And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Go down, protest to the people, lest they break through unto Jehovah to see, and many of them have fallen;
Exodus 19:22And let the priests who come near to the Lord make themselves holy, for fear that the Lord may come on them suddenly.And let the priests also, that come near to Jehovah, sanctify themselves, lest Jehovah break forth upon them. and also the priests who are coming nigh unto Jehovah do sanctify themselves, lest Jehovah break forth on them.`
Exodus 19:23And Moses said to the Lord, The people will not be able to come up the mountain, for you gave us orders to put limits round the mountain, marking it out and making it holy.And Moses said unto Jehovah, The people cannot come up to mount Sinai: for thou didst charge us, saying, Set bounds about the mount, and sanctify it. And Moses saith unto Jehovah, `The people [is] unable to come up unto mount Sinai, for Thou Thou hast protested to us, saying, Make a border [for] the mount, then thou hast sanctified it.`
Exodus 19:24And the Lord said to him, Go down, and you and Aaron may come up; but let not the priests and the people make their way through to the Lord, or he will come on them suddenly.And Jehovah said unto him, Go, get thee down; and thou shalt come up, thou, and Aaron with thee: but let not the priests and the people break through to come up unto Jehovah, lest he break forth upon them. And Jehovah saith unto him, `Go, descend, then thou hast come up, thou, and Aaron with thee; and the priests and the people do not break through, to come up unto Jehovah, lest He break forth upon them.`
Exodus 19:25So Moses went down to the people and said this to them.So Moses went down unto the people, and told them. And Moses goeth down unto the people, and saith unto them:
