Colossians 2:1For it is my desire to give you news of the great fight I am making for you and for those at Laodicea, and for all who have not seen my face in the flesh;For I would have you know what combat I have for you, and those in Laodicea, and as many as have not seen my face in flesh;For I would have you know how greatly I strive for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
Colossians 2:2So that their hearts may be comforted, and that being joined together in love, they may come to the full wealth of the certain knowledge of the secret of God, even Christ,to the end that their hearts may be encouraged, being united together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to [the] full knowledge of the mystery of God;that their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, [even] Christ,
Colossians 2:3In whom are all the secret stores of wisdom and knowledge.in which are hid all the treasures of wisdom and of knowledge.in whom are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge hidden.
Colossians 2:4I say this so that you may not be turned away by any deceit of words.And I say this to the end that no one may delude you by persuasive speech.This I say, that no one may delude you with persuasiveness of speech.
Colossians 2:5For though I am not present in the flesh, still I am with you in the spirit, seeing with joy your order, and your unchanging faith in Christ.For if indeed in the flesh I am absent, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing and seeing your order, and the firmness of your faith in Christ.For though I am absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
Colossians 2:6As, then, you took Christ Jesus the Lord, so go on in him,As therefore ye have received the Christ, Jesus the Lord, walk in him,As therefore ye received Christ Jesus the Lord, [so] walk in him,
Colossians 2:7Rooted and based together in him, strong in the faith which the teaching gave you, giving praise to God at all times.rooted and built up in him, and assured in the faith, even as ye have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.rooted and builded up in him, and established in your faith, even as ye were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.
Colossians 2:8Take care that no one takes you away by force, through man's wisdom and deceit, going after the beliefs of men and the theories of the world, and not after Christ:See that there be no one who shall lead *you* away as a prey through philosophy and vain deceit, according to the teaching of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ.Take heed lest there shall be any one that maketh spoil of you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ:
Colossians 2:9For in him all the wealth of God's being has a living form,For in him dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily;for in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily,
Colossians 2:10And you are complete in him, who is the head of all rule and authority:and ye are complete in him, who is the head of all principality and authority,and in him ye are made full, who is the head of all principality and power:
Colossians 2:11In whom you had a circumcision not made with hands, in the putting off of the body of the flesh, in the circumcision of Christ;in whom also ye have been circumcised with circumcision not done by hand, in the putting off of the body of the flesh, in the circumcision of the Christ;in whom ye were also circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, in the putting off of the body of the flesh, in the circumcision of Christ;
Colossians 2:12Having been put to death with him in baptism, by which you came to life again with him, through faith in the working of God, who made him come back from the dead.buried with him in baptism, in which ye have been also raised with [him] through faith of the working of God who raised him from among the dead.having been buried with him in baptism, wherein ye were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.
Colossians 2:13And you, being dead through your sins and the evil condition of your flesh, to you, I say, he gave life together with him, and forgiveness of all our sins;And you, being dead in offences and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, he has quickened together with him, having forgiven us all the offences;And you, being dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, you, [I say], did he make alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses;
Colossians 2:14Having put an end to the handwriting of the law which was against us, taking it out of the way by nailing it to his cross;having effaced the handwriting in ordinances which [stood out] against us, which was contrary to us, he has taken it also out of the way, having nailed it to the cross;having blotted out the bond written in ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us: and he hath taken it out that way, nailing it to the cross;
Colossians 2:15Having made himself free from the rule of authorities and powers, he put them openly to shame, glorying over them in it.having spoiled principalities and authorities, he made a show of them publicly, leading them in triumph by it.having despoiled the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Colossians 2:16For this reason let no man be your judge in any question of food or drink or feast days or new moons or Sabbaths:Let none therefore judge you in meat or in drink, or in matter of feast, or new moon, or sabbaths,Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a feast day or a new moon or a sabbath day:
Colossians 2:17For these are an image of the things which are to come; but the body is Christ's.which are a shadow of things to come; but the body [is] of Christ.which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is Christ's.
Colossians 2:18Let no man take your reward from you by consciously making little of himself and giving worship to angels; having his thoughts fixed on the things which he has seen, being foolishly lifted up in his natural mind,Let no one fraudulently deprive you of your prize, doing his own will in humility and worship of angels, entering into things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by the mind of his flesh,Let no man rob you of your prize by a voluntary humility and worshipping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he hath seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
Colossians 2:19And not joined to the Head, from whom all the body, being given strength and kept together through its joins and bands, has its growth with the increase of God.and not holding fast the head, from whom all the body, ministered to and united together by the joints and bands, increases with the increase of God.and not holding fast the Head, from whom all the body, being supplied and knit together through the joints and bands, increasing with the increase of God.
Colossians 2:20If you were made free, by your death with Christ, from the rules of the world, why do you put yourselves under the authority of ordersIf ye have died with Christ from the elements of the world, why as [if] alive in [the] world do ye subject yourselves to ordinances?If ye died with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, do ye subject yourselves to ordinances,
Colossians 2:21Which say there may be no touching, tasting, or taking in your hands,Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch,Handle not, nor taste, nor touch
Colossians 2:22(Rules which are all to come to an end with their use) after the orders and teaching of men?(things which are all for destruction in the using [of them]:) according to the injunctions and teachings of men,(all which things are to perish with the using), after the precepts and doctrines of men?
Colossians 2:23These things seem to have a sort of wisdom in self-ordered worship and making little of oneself, and being cruel to the body, not honouring it by giving it its natural use.(which have indeed an appearance of wisdom in voluntary worship, and humility, and harsh treatment of the body, not in a certain honour,) to [the] satisfaction of the flesh.Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in will-worship, and humility, and severity to the body; [but are] not of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.
