| John 16:1 | I have said these things to you so that you may not be in doubt. | These things I have spoken unto you that ye may not be offended. | These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be caused to stumble. |
| John 16:2 | They will put you out of the Synagogues: yes, the time is coming when whoever puts you to death will have the belief that he is doing God's pleasure. | They shall put you out of the synagogues; but the hour is coming that every one who kills you will think to render service to God; | They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the hour cometh, that whosoever killeth you shall think that he offereth service unto God. |
| John 16:3 | They will do these things to you because they have not had knowledge of the Father or of me. | and these things they will do because they have not known the Father nor me. | And these things will they do, because they have not known the Father, nor me. |
| John 16:4 | I have said these things to you so that when the time comes, what I have said may come to your mind. I did not say them to you at the first, because then I was still with you. | But I have spoken these things to you, that when their hour shall have come, ye may remember them, that I have said [them] unto you. But I did not say these things unto you from [the] beginning, because I was with you. | But these things have I spoken unto you, that when their hour is come, ye may remember them, how that I told you. | John 16:5 | But now I am going to him who sent me; and not one of you says to me, Where are you going? | But now I go to him that has sent me, and none of you demands of me, Where goest thou? | But now I go unto him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou? |
| John 16:6 | But your hearts are full of sorrow because I have said these things. | But because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. | But because I have spoken these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart. |
| John 16:7 | But what I am saying is true: my going is for your good: for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. | But I say the truth to you, It is profitable for you that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I go I will send him to you. | Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I go, I will send him unto you. |
| John 16:8 | And he, when he comes, will make the world conscious of sin, and of righteousness, and of being judged: | And having come, he will bring demonstration to the world, of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: | And he, when he is come, will convict the world in respect of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: |
| John 16:9 | Of sin, because they have not faith in me; | of sin, because they do not believe on me; | of sin, because they believe not on me; |
| John 16:10 | Of righteousness, because I go to the Father and you will see me no more; | of righteousness, because I go away to [my] Father, and ye behold me no longer; | of righteousness, because I go to the Father, and ye behold me no more; |
| John 16:11 | Of being judged, because the ruler of this world has been judged. | of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. | of judgment, because the prince of this world hath been judged. |
| John 16:12 | I have still much to say to you, but you are not strong enough for it now. | I have yet many things to say to you, but ye cannot bear them now. | I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. |
| John 16:13 | However, when he, the Spirit of true knowledge, has come, he will be your guide into all true knowledge: for his words will not come from himself, but whatever has come to his hearing, that he will say: and he will make clear to you the things to come. | But when *he* is come, the Spirit of truth, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but whatsoever he shall hear he shall speak; and he will announce to you what is coming. | Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but what things soever he shall hear, [these] shall he speak: and he shall declare unto you the things that are to come. |

| John 16:19 | Jesus saw that they had a desire to put the question to him, so he said to them, Is this what you are questioning one with another, why I said, After a little time, you will see me no longer; and then again, after a little time, you will see me? | Jesus knew therefore that they desired to demand of him, and said to them, Do ye inquire of this among yourselves that I said, A little while and ye do not behold me; and again a little while and ye shall see me? | Jesus perceived that they were desirous to ask him, and he said unto them, Do ye inquire among yourselves concerning this, that I said, A little while, and ye behold me not, and again a little while, and ye shall see me? |
| John 16:20 | Truly I say to you, You will be weeping and sorrowing, but the world will be glad: you will be sad, but your sorrow will be turned into joy. | Verily, verily, I say to you, that ye shall weep and lament, ye, but the world shall rejoice; and ye will be grieved, but your grief shall be turned to joy. | Verily, verily, I say unto you, that ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. |
| John 16:21 | When a woman is about to give birth she has sorrow, because her hour is come; but when she has given birth to the child, the pain is put out of her mind by the joy that a man has come into the world. | A woman, when she gives birth to a child, has grief because her hour has come; but when the child is born, she no longer remembers the trouble, on account of the joy that a man has been born into the world. | A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but when she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for the joy that a man is born into the world. |
