| Acts 8:1 | And Saul gave approval to his death. Now at that time a violent attack was started against the church in Jerusalem; and all but the Apostles went away into all parts of Judaea and Samaria. | And Saul was consenting to his being killed. And on that day there arose a great persecution against the assembly which was in Jerusalem, and all were scattered into the countries of Judaea and Samaria except the apostles. | And at that time there was raised a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all dispersed through the countries of Judea, and Samaria, except the apostles. |
| Acts 8:2 | And God-fearing men put Stephen's body in its last resting-place, making great weeping over him. | And pious men buried Stephen and made great lamentation over him. | And devout men took order for Stephen's funeral, and made great mourning over him. |

Now there was a certain man named Simon, who before had been a magician in that city, seducing the people of Samaria, giving out that he was some great one: |

| Acts 8:33 | Being of low degree, his cause was not given a hearing: who has knowledge of his family? for his life is cut off from the earth. | In his humiliation his judgment has been taken away, and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth. | In humility his judgment was taken away. His generation who shall declare, for his life shall be taken from the earth? |
