Matthew 7:1 | Be not judges of others, and you will not be judged. | Judge not, that ye may not be judged; | Judge not, that ye be not judged. |
Matthew 7:2 | For as you have been judging, so you will be judged, and with your measure will it be measured to you. | for with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged; and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you. | For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. |
Matthew 7:3 | And why do you take note of the grain of dust in your brother's eye, but take no note of the bit of wood which is in your eye? | But why lookest thou on the mote that is in the eye of thy brother, but observest not the beam that is in thine eye? | And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? |
Matthew 7:4 | Or how will you say to your brother, Let me take out the grain of dust from your eye, when you yourself have a bit of wood in your eye? | Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Allow [me], I will cast out the mote from thine eye; and behold, the beam is in thine eye? | Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? |
Matthew 7:5 | You false one, first take out the bit of wood from your eye, then will you see clearly to take out the grain of dust from your brother's eye. | Hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine eye, and then thou wilt see clearly to cast out the mote out of the eye of thy brother. | Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. |
Matthew 7:6 | Do not give that which is holy to the dogs, or put your jewels before pigs, for fear that they will be crushed under foot by the pigs whose attack will then be made against you. | Give not that which is holy to the dogs, nor cast your pearls before the swine, lest they trample them with their feet, and turning round rend you. | Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. |
Matthew 7:7 | Make a request, and it will be answered; what you are searching for you will get; give the sign, and the door will be open to you: | Ask, and it shall be given to you. Seek, and ye shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened to you. | Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: |
Matthew 7:8 | Because to everyone who makes a request, it will be given; and he who is searching will get his desire, and to him who gives the sign, the door will be open. | For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened. | For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. |
Matthew 7:9 | Or which of you, if his son makes a request for bread, will give him a stone? | Or what man is there of you who, if his son shall ask of him a loaf of bread, will give him a stone; | Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? |
Matthew 7:10 | Or if he makes a request for a fish, will give him a snake? | and if he ask a fish, will give him a serpent? | Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? |
Matthew 7:11 | If you, then, being evil, are able to give good things to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who make requests to him? | If therefore *ye*, being wicked, know [how] to give good gifts to your children, how much rather shall your Father who is in the heavens give good things to them that ask of him? | If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? |
Matthew 7:12 | All those things, then, which you would have men do to you, even so do you to them: because this is the law and the prophets. | Therefore all things whatever ye desire that men should do to you, thus do *ye* also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets. | Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. |
Matthew 7:13 | Go in by the narrow door; for wide is the door and open is the way which goes to destruction, and great numbers go in by it. | Enter in through the narrow gate, for wide the gate and broad the way that leads to destruction, and many are they who enter in through it. | Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: |
Matthew 7:14 | For narrow is the door and hard the road to life, and only a small number make discovery of it. | For narrow the gate and straitened the way that leads to life, and they are few who find it. | Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. |
Matthew 7:15 | Be on the watch for false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inside they are cruel wolves. | But beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but within are ravening wolves. | Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. |
Matthew 7:16 | By their fruits you will get knowledge of them. Do men get grapes from thorns or figs from thistles? | By their fruits ye shall know them. Do [men] gather a bunch of grapes from thorns, or from thistles figs? | Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? |
Matthew 7:17 | Even so, every good tree gives good fruit; but the bad tree gives evil fruit. | So every good tree produces good fruits, but the worthless tree produces bad fruits. | Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. |
Matthew 7:18 | It is not possible for a good tree to give bad fruit, and a bad tree will not give good fruit. | A good tree cannot produce bad fruits, nor a worthless tree produce good fruits. | A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. |
Matthew 7:19 | Every tree which does not give good fruit is cut down and put in the fire. | Every tree not producing good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire. | Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. |
Matthew 7:20 | So by their fruits you will get knowledge of them. | By their fruits then surely ye shall know them. | Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. |
Matthew 7:21 | Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will go into the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the pleasure of my Father in heaven. | Not every one who says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but he that does the will of my Father who is in the heavens. | Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. |
Matthew 7:22 | A great number will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord, were we not prophets in your name, and did we not by your name send out evil spirits, and by your name do works of power? | Many shall say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied through *thy* name, and through *thy* name cast out demons, and through *thy* name done many works of power? | Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? |
Matthew 7:23 | And then will I say to them, I never had knowledge of you: go from me, you workers of evil. | and then will I avow unto them, I never knew you. Depart from me, workers of lawlessness. | And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. |
Matthew 7:24 | Everyone, then, to whom my words come and who does them, will be like a wise man who made his house on a rock; | Whoever therefore hears these my words and does them, I will liken him to a prudent man, who built his house upon the rock; | Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: |
Matthew 7:25 | And the rain came down and there was a rush of waters and the winds were driving against that house, but it was not moved; because it was based on the rock. | and the rain came down, and the streams came, and the winds blew and fell upon that house, and it did not fall, for it had been founded upon the rock. | And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. |
Matthew 7:26 | And everyone to whom my words come and who does them not, will be like a foolish man who made his house on sand; | And every one who hears these my words and does not do them, he shall be likened to a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand; | And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: |
Matthew 7:27 | And the rain came down and there was a rush of waters and the winds were driving against that house; and it came down and great was its fall. | and the rain came down, and the streams came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, and it fell, and its fall was great. | And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. |
Matthew 7:28 | And it came about, when Jesus had come to the end of these words, that the people were surprised at his teaching, | And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were astonished at his doctrine, | And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: |
Matthew 7:29 | for he was teaching as one having authority, and not as their scribes. | for he taught them as having authority, and not as their scribes. | For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. |
