Matthew 14:9And the king was sad; but because of his oaths and because of his guests, he gave the order for it to be given to her;And the king was grieved; but on account of the oaths, and those lying at table with [him], he commanded [it] to be given. The king was deeply vexed, yet because of his repeated oath and of the guests at his table he ordered it to be given her,
Matthew 14:10And he sent and had John's head cut off in the prison. And he sent and beheaded John in the prison;and he sent and beheaded John in the prison.

Matthew 14:13Now when it came to the ears of Jesus, he went away from there in a boat, to a waste place by himself: and the people hearing of it, went after him on foot from the towns. And Jesus, having heard it, went away thence by ship to a desert place apart. And the crowds having heard [of it] followed him on foot from the cities.Upon receiving these tidings, Jesus went away by boat to an uninhabited and secluded district; but the people heard of it and followed Him in crowds from the towns by land.
Matthew 14:14And he came out and saw a great number of people and he had pity on them, and made well those of them who were ill.And going out he saw a great crowd, and was moved with compassion about them, and healed their infirm. So Jesus went out and saw an immense multitude, and felt compassion for them, and cured those of them who were out of health.
Matthew 14:15And when evening had come, the disciples came to him, saying, This place is waste land, and the time is now past; send the people away so that they may go into the towns and get themselves food. But when even was come, his disciples came to him saying, The place is desert, and [much of] the [day] time already gone by; dismiss the crowds, that they may go into the villages and buy food for themselves. But when evening was come, the disciples came to Him and said, "This is an uninhabited place, and the best of the day is now gone; send the people away to go into the villages and buy something to eat."
Matthew 14:16But Jesus said to them, There is no need for them to go away; give them food yourselves. But Jesus said to them, They have no need to go: give *ye* them to eat."They need not go away," replied Jesus; "you yourselves must give them something to eat."

Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and after looking up to heaven and blessing them, He broke up the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples distributed them to the people.

The broken portions that remained over they gathered up, filling twelve baskets.
