Titus 2:1But let your words be in agreement with true and right teaching:But do *thou* speak the things that become sound teaching;But as for you, you must speak in a manner that befits wholesome teaching.
Titus 2:2That old men are to be simple in their tastes, serious, wise, true in faith, in love, and of a quiet mind.that the elder men be sober, grave, discreet, sound in faith, in love, in patience;Exhort aged men to be temperate, grave, sober-minded, robust in their faith, their love and their patience.
Titus 2:3That old women are to be self-respecting in behaviour, not saying evil of others, not given to taking much wine, teachers of that which is good,that the elder women in like manner be in deportment as becoming those who have to say to sacred things, not slanderers, not enslaved to much wine, teachers of what is right;In the same way exhort aged women to let their conduct be such as becomes consecrated persons. They must not be slanderers nor enslaved to wine-drinking. They must be teachers of what is right.
Titus 2:4Training the younger women to have love for their husbands and children,that they may admonish the young women to be attached to [their] husbands, to be attached to [their] children,They should school the young women to be affectionate to their husbands and to their children, to be sober-minded, pure in their lives,
Titus 2:5To be wise in mind, clean in heart, kind; working in their houses, living under the authority of their husbands; so that no evil may be said of the word of God.discreet, chaste, diligent in home work, good, subject to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be evil spoken of.industrious in their homes, kind, submissive to their husbands, so that the Christian teaching may not be exposed to reproach.
Titus 2:6To the young men give orders to be wise and serious-minded:The younger men in like manner exhort to be discreet:In the same way exhort the younger men to be discreet,
Titus 2:7In all things see that you are an example of good works; holy in your teaching, serious in behaviour,in all things affording thyself as a pattern of good works; in teaching uncorruptedness, gravity,and above all make your own life a pattern of right conduct, having in your teaching no taint of insincerity, but a serious tone,
Titus 2:8Saying true and right words, against which no protest may be made, so that he who is not on our side may be put to shame, unable to say any evil of us.a sound word, not to be condemned; that he who is opposed may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say about us:and healthy language which no one can censure, so that our opponents may feel ashamed at having nothing evil to say against us.
Titus 2:9Servants are to be under the authority of their masters, pleasing them in all things, without argument;bondmen to be subject to their own masters, to make themselves acceptable in everything; not gainsaying;Exhort slaves to be always obedient to their owners, and to give them satisfaction in everything, not contradicting and not pilfering,
Titus 2:10Not taking what is not theirs, but giving clear signs of their good faith, in all things doing credit to the teaching of God our Saviour.not robbing [their masters], but shewing all good fidelity, that they may adorn the teaching which [is] of our Saviour God in all things.but manifesting perfect fidelity and kind feeling, in order to bring honour to the teaching of our Saviour, God, in all things.
Titus 2:11For the grace of God has come, giving salvation to all men,For the grace of God which carries with it salvation for all men has appeared,For the grace of God has displayed itself with healing power to all mankind,
Titus 2:12Training us so that, turning away from evil and the desires of this world, we may be living wisely and uprightly in the knowledge of God in this present life;teaching us that, having denied impiety and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, and justly, and piously in the present course of things,training us to renounce ungodliness and all the pleasures of this world, and to live sober, upright, and pious lives at the present time,
Titus 2:13Looking for the glad hope, the revelation of the glory of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ;awaiting the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ;in expectation of the fulfilment of our blessed hope the Appearing in glory of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ;
Titus 2:14Who gave himself for us, so that he might make us free from all wrongdoing, and make for himself a people clean in heart and on fire with good works.who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all lawlessness, and purify to himself a peculiar people, zealous for good works.who gave Himself for us to purchase our freedom from all iniquity, and purify for Himself a people who should be specially His own, zealous for doing good works.
Titus 2:15On all these points give teaching and help, and make clear what is right with all authority. Let all men give you honour.These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise thee.Thus speak, exhort, reprove, with all impressiveness. Let no one make light of your authority.
