2nd-Peter 1:1Simon Peter, a servant and Apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who with us have a part in the same holy faith in the righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ:Simon Peter, bondman and apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have received like precious faith with us through [the] righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ:Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained a like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ:
2nd-Peter 1:2May grace and peace ever be increasing in you, in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord;Grace and peace be multiplied to you in [the] knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,
2nd-Peter 1:3Because by his power he has given us everything necessary for life and righteousness, through the knowledge of him who has been our guide by his glory and virtue;As his divine power has given to us all things which relate to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that has called us by glory and virtue,seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue;
2nd-Peter 1:4And through this he has given us the hope of great rewards highly to be valued; so that by them we might have our part in God's being, and be made free from the destruction which is in the world through the desires of the flesh.through which he has given to us the greatest and precious promises, that through these ye may become partakers of [the] divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.whereby he has granted to us his precious and exceedingly great promises; that through these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in that world by lust.
2nd-Peter 1:5So, for this very cause, take every care; joining virtue to faith, and knowledge to virtue,But for this very reason also, using therewith all diligence, in your faith have also virtue, in virtue knowledge,Yes, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence; and in moral excellence, knowledge;
2nd-Peter 1:6And self-control to knowledge, and a quiet mind to self-control, and fear of God to a quiet mind,in knowledge temperance, in temperance endurance, in endurance godliness,and in knowledge, self-control; and in self-control patience; and in patience godliness;
2nd-Peter 1:7And love of the brothers to fear of God, and to love of the brothers, love itself.in godliness brotherly love, in brotherly love love:and in godliness brotherly affection; and in brotherly affection, love.
2nd-Peter 1:8For if you have these things in good measure, they will make you fertile and full of fruit in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.for these things existing and abounding in you make [you] to be neither idle nor unfruitful as regards the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ;For if these things are yours and abound, they make you to be not idle nor unfruitful to the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2nd-Peter 1:9For the man who has not these things is blind, seeing only what is near, having no memory of how he was made clean from his old sins.for he with whom these things are not present is blind, short-sighted, and has forgotten the purging of his former sins.For he who lacks these things is blind, seeing only what is near, having forgotten the cleansing from his old sins.
2nd-Peter 1:10For this reason, my brothers, take all the more care to make your selection and approval certain; for if you do these things you will never have a fall:Wherefore the rather, brethren, use diligence to make your calling and election sure, for doing these things ye will never fall;Therefore, brothers, be more diligent to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never stumble.
2nd-Peter 1:11For so the way will be open to you into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.for thus shall the entrance into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ be richly furnished unto you.For thus will be richly supplied to you the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
2nd-Peter 1:12For this reason I will be ready at all times to keep your memory of these things awake, though you have the knowledge of them now and are well based in your present faith.Wherefore I will be careful to put you always in mind of these things, although knowing [them] and established in the present truth.Therefore I will not be negligent to remind you of these things, though you know them, and are established in the present truth.
2nd-Peter 1:13And it seems right to me, as long as I am in this tent of flesh, to keep your minds awake by working on your memory;But I account it right, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting [you] in remembrance,I think it right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding you;
2nd-Peter 1:14For I am conscious that in a short time I will have to put off this tent of flesh, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me.knowing that the putting off of my tabernacle is speedily [to take place], as also our Lord Jesus Christ has manifested to me;knowing that the putting off of my tent comes swiftly, even as our Lord, Jesus Christ, made clear to me.
2nd-Peter 1:15And I will take every care so that you may have a clear memory of these things after my death.but I will use diligence, that after my departure ye should have also, at any time, [in your power] to call to mind these things.Yes, I will make every effort that you may always be able to remember these things even after my departure.
2nd-Peter 1:16For when we gave you news of the power and the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, our teaching was not based on stories put together by art, but we were eye-witnesses of his glory.For we have not made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, following cleverly imagined fables, but having been eyewitnesses of *his* majesty.For we did not follow cunningly devised fables, when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
2nd-Peter 1:17For God the Father gave him honour and glory, when such a voice came to him out of the great glory, saying, This is my dearly loved Son, with whom I am well pleased.For he received from God [the] Father honour and glory, such a voice being uttered to him by the excellent glory: This is my beloved Son, in whom *I* have found my delight;For he received from God the Father honor and glory, when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
2nd-Peter 1:18And this voice came from heaven even to our ears, when we were with him on the holy mountain.and this voice *we* heard uttered from heaven, being with him on the holy mountain.This voice we heard come out of heaven, when we were with him in the holy mountain.
2nd-Peter 1:19And so the words of the prophets are made more certain; and it is well for you to give attention to them as to a light shining in a dark place, till the dawn comes and the morning star is seen in your hearts;And we have the prophetic word [made] surer, to which ye do well taking heed (as to a lamp shining in an obscure place) until [the] day dawn and [the] morning star arise in your hearts;We have the more sure word of prophecy; whereunto you do well that you take heed, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns, and the day star arises in your hearts:
2nd-Peter 1:20Being conscious in the first place that no man by himself may give a special sense to the words of the prophets.knowing this first, that [the scope of] no prophecy of scripture is had from its own particular interpretation,knowing this first, that no prophecy of scripture is of private interpretation.
2nd-Peter 1:21For these words did not ever come through the impulse of men: but the prophets had them from God, being moved by the Holy Spirit.for prophecy was not ever uttered by [the] will of man, but holy men of God spake under the power of [the] Holy Spirit.For no prophecy ever came by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke, being moved by the Holy Spirit.
