Luke 5:3 | And he got into one of the boats, the property of Simon, and made a request to him to go a little way out from the land. And being seated he gave the people teaching from the boat. | And getting into one of the ships, which was Simon's, he asked him to draw out a little from the land; and he sat down and taught the crowds out of the ship. | He entered into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and asked him to put out a little from the land. He sat down and taught the multitudes out of the boat. |
Luke 5:4 | And when his talk was ended, he said to Simon, Go out into deep water, and let down your nets for fish. | But when he ceased speaking, he said to Simon, Draw out into the deep [water] and let down your nets for a haul. | When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into the deep, and let down your nets for a catch." |
Luke 5:5 | And Simon, answering, said, Master, we were working all night and we took nothing: but at your word I will let down the nets. | And Simon answering said to him, Master, having laboured through the whole night we have taken nothing, but at thy word I will let down the net. | Simon answered him, "Master, we worked all night, and took nothing; but at your word I will let down the net." |
Luke 5:6 | And when they had done this, they got such a great number of fish that it seemed as if their nets would be broken; | And having done this, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes. And their net broke. | When they had done this, they caught a great multitude of fish, and their net was breaking. |
Luke 5:7 | And they made signs to their friends in the other boat to come to their help. And they came, and the two boats were so full that they were going down. | And they beckoned to their partners who were in the other ship to come and help them, and they came, and filled both the ships, so that they were sinking. | They beckoned to their partners in the other boat, that they should come and help them. They came, and filled both boats, so that they began to sink. |
Luke 5:8 | But Simon, when he saw it, went down at the knees of Jesus and said, Go away from me, O Lord, for I am a sinner. | But Simon Peter, seeing it, fell at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord. | But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, "Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord." |
Luke 5:9 | For he was full of wonder and so were all those who were with him, at the number of fish which they had taken; | For astonishment had laid hold on him, and on all those who were with him, at the haul of fishes which they had taken; | For he was amazed, and all who were with him, at the catch of fish which they had caught; |

And Jesus said to Simon, Have no fear; from this time forward you will be a fisher of men. | and in like manner also on James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, Fear not; henceforth thou shalt be catching men. | and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. Jesus said to Simon, "Don't be afraid. From now on you will catch men alive." |

Luke 5:12 | And it came about that while he was in one of the towns, there was a leper there: and when he saw Jesus he went down on his face in prayer to him, saying, Lord, if it is your pleasure, you have power to make me clean. | And it came to pass as he was in one of the cities, that behold, there was a man full of leprosy, and seeing Jesus, falling upon his face, he besought him saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou art able to cleanse me. | It happened, while he was in one of the cities, behold, there was a man full of leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell on his face, and begged him, saying, "Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean." |

And straight away his disease went from him. | And stretching forth his hand he touched him, saying, I will; be thou cleansed: and immediately the leprosy departed from him. | He stretched forth his hand, and touched him, saying, "I want to. Be made clean." Immediately the leprosy departed from him. |
Luke 5:14 | And he gave him orders: Say nothing to any man, but let the priest see you and give an offering so that you may be made clean, as the law of Moses says, and for a witness to them. | And he enjoined him to tell no one; but go, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing as Moses ordained, for a testimony to them. | He charged him to tell no one, "But go your way, and show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing, according to what Moses commanded, for a testimony to them." |
Luke 5:15 | But news of him went out all the more, in every direction, and great numbers of people came together to give hearing to his words and to be made well from their diseases. | But the report concerning him was spread abroad still more, and great crowds came together to hear, and to be healed from their infirmities. | But the report concerning him spread much more, and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities. |

Luke 5:23 | Which is the simpler: to say, You have forgiveness for your sins; or to say, Get up and go? | which is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk? | Which is easier to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you;' or to say, 'Arise and walk?' |

Luke 5:33 | And they said to him, The disciples of John frequently go without food, and make prayers, and so do the disciples of the Pharisees; but your disciples take food and drink. | And they said to him, Why do the disciples of John fast often and make supplications, in like manner those also of the Pharisees, but thine eat and drink? | They said to him, "Why do John's disciples often fast and pray, likewise also the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours eat and drink?" |

Then will they fast in those days." |
Luke 5:36 | And he said to them, in a story, No man takes a bit of cloth from a new coat and puts it on to an old coat, for so the new coat would be damaged and the bit from the new would not go well with the old. | And he spoke also a parable to them: No one puts a piece of a new garment upon an old garment, otherwise he will both rend the new, and the piece which is from the new will not suit with the old. | He also told a parable to them. "No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old garment, or else he will tear the new, and also the piece from the new will not match the old. |
Luke 5:37 | And no man puts new wine into old wine-skins, for fear that the skins will be burst by the new wine, and the wine be let out, and the skins come to destruction. | And no one puts new wine into old skins, otherwise the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be poured out, and the skins will be destroyed; | No one puts new wine into old wineskins, or else the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed. |
