Mark 11:1 | And when they came near to Jerusalem, to Beth-phage and Bethany, at the Mountain of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, | And when they were drawing near to Jerusalem and to Bethania at the mount of Olives, he sendeth two of his disciples, | And when they draw near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sends two of his disciples, |
Mark 11:2 | And said to them, Go into the little town opposite: and when you come to it, you will see a young ass with a cord round his neck, on which no man has ever been seated; let him loose, and come back with him. | And saith to them: Go into the village that is over against you, and immediately at your coming in thither, you shall find a colt tied, upon which no man yet hath sat: loose him, and bring him. | and says to them, Go into the village which is over against you, and immediately on entering into it ye will find a colt tied, upon which no [child] of man has ever sat: loose it and lead it [here]. |
Mark 11:3 | And if anyone says to you, Why are you doing this? say, The Lord has need of him and will send him back straight away. | And if any man shall say to you, What are you doing? say ye that the Lord hath need of him: and immediately he will let him come hither. | And if any one say to you, Why do ye this? say, The Lord has need of it; and straightway he sends it hither. |
Mark 11:4 | And they went away and saw a young ass by the door outside in the open street; and they were getting him loose. | And going their way, they found the colt tied before the gate without, in the meeting of two ways: and they loose him. | And they departed, and found a colt bound to the door without at the crossway, and they loose him. |
Mark 11:5 | And some of those who were there said to them, What are you doing, taking the ass? | And some of them that stood there, said to them: What do you loosing the colt? | And some of those who stood there said to them, What are ye doing, loosing the colt? |
Mark 11:6 | And they said to them the words which Jesus had said; and they let them go. | Who said to them as Jesus had commanded them; and they let him go with them. | And they said to them as Jesus had commanded. And they let them [do it]. |
Mark 11:7 | And they took the young ass to Jesus, and put their clothing on him, and he got on his back. | And they brought the colt to Jesus; and they lay their garments on him, and he sat upon him. | And they led the colt to Jesus, and cast their clothes upon it, and he sat on it; |
Mark 11:8 | And a great number put down their clothing in the way; and others put down branches which they had taken from the fields. | And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down boughs from the trees, and strewed them in the way. | and many strewed their clothes on the way, and others cut down branches from the trees [and went on strewing them on the way]. |
Mark 11:9 | And those who went in front, and those who came after, were crying, Glory: A blessing on him who comes in the name of the Lord: | And they that went before and they that followed, cried, saying: Hosanna, blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. | And those going on before and those following cried out, Hosanna! blessed [be] he that comes in [the] Lord's name. |
Mark 11:10 | A blessing on the coming kingdom of our father David: Glory in the highest. | Blessed be the kingdom of our father David that cometh: Hosanna in the highest. | Blessed [be] the coming kingdom of our father David. Hosanna in the highest! |
Mark 11:11 | And he went into Jerusalem into the Temple; and after looking round about on all things, it being now evening, he went out to Bethany with the twelve. | And he entered into Jerusalem, into the temple: and having viewed all things round about, when now the eventide was come, he went out to Bethania with the twelve. | And he entered into Jerusalem and into the temple; and having looked round on all things, the hour being already late, he went out to Bethany with the twelve. |
Mark 11:12 | And on the day after, when they had come out from Bethany, he was in need of food. | And the next day when they came out from Bethania, he was hungry. | And on the morrow, when they were gone out of Bethany, he hungered. |
Mark 11:13 | And seeing a fig-tree in the distance with leaves, he went to see if by chance it had anything on it: and when he came to it, he saw nothing but leaves, for it was not the time for the fruit. | And when he had seen afar off a fig tree having leaves, he came if perhaps he might find any thing on it. And when he was come to it, he found nothing but leaves. For it was not the time for figs. | And seeing from afar off a fig-tree which had leaves, he came, if perhaps he might find something on it. And having come up to it he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the time of figs. |
Mark 11:14 | And he said to it, Let no man take fruit from you for ever. And his disciples took note of his words. | And answering he said to it: May no man hereafter eat fruit of thee any more for ever. And his disciples heard it. | And answering he said to it, Let no one eat fruit of thee any more for ever. And his disciples heard [it]. |
Mark 11:15 | And they came to Jerusalem; and he went into the Temple, and sent out those who were trading there, overturning the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who were offering doves for money; | And they came to Jerusalem. And when he was entered into the temple, he began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the chairs of them that sold doves. | And they come to Jerusalem, and entering into the temple, he began to cast out those who sold and who bought in the temple, and he overthrew the tables of the moneychangers and the seats of the dove-sellers, |
Mark 11:16 | And he would not let any man take a vessel through the Temple. | And he suffered not that any man should carry a vessel through the temple; | and suffered not that any one should carry any package through the temple. |
Mark 11:17 | And he gave them teaching, and said to them, Is it not in the Writings, My house is to be named a house of prayer for all the nations? but you have made it a hole of thieves. | And he taught, saying to them: Is it not written, My house shall be called the house of prayer to all nations? But you have made it a den of thieves. | And he taught saying to them, Is it not written, My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations? but *ye* have made it a den of robbers. |
Mark 11:18 | And it came to the ears of the chief priests and scribes, and they took thought how they might put him to death; being in fear of him, because all the people were full of wonder at his teaching. | Which when the chief priests and the scribes had heard, they sought how they might destroy him. For they feared him, because the whole multitude was in admiration at his doctrine. | And the chief priests and the scribes heard [it], and they sought how they might destroy him; for they feared him, because all the crowd were astonished at his doctrine. |
Mark 11:19 | And every evening he went out of the town. | And when evening was come, he went forth out of the city. | And when it was evening he went forth without the city. |
Mark 11:20 | And when they were going by in the morning, they saw the fig-tree dead from the roots. | And when they passed by in the morning they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. | And passing by early in the morning they saw the fig-tree dried up from the roots. |
Mark 11:21 | And Peter, having a memory of it, said to him, Master, see, the tree which was cursed by you is dead. | And Peter remembering, said to him: Rabbi, behold the fig tree, which thou didst curse, is withered away. | And Peter, remembering [what Jesus had said], says to him, Rabbi, see, the fig-tree which thou cursedst is dried up. |
Mark 11:22 | And Jesus, answering, said to them, Have God's faith. | And Jesus answering, saith to them: Have the faith of God. | And Jesus answering says to them, Have faith in God. |
Mark 11:23 | Truly I say to you, Whoever says to this mountain, Be taken up and be put into the sea; and has no doubt in his heart, but has faith that what he says will come about, he will have his desire. | Amen I say to you, that whosoever shall say to this mountain, Be thou removed and be cast into the sea, and shall not stagger in his heart, but believe, that whatsoever he saith shall be done; it shall be done unto him. | Verily I say to you, that whosoever shall say to this mountain, Be thou taken away and cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but believe that what he says takes place, whatever he shall say shall come to pass for him. |
Mark 11:24 | For this reason I say to you, Whatever you make a request for in prayer, have faith that it has been given to you, and you will have it. | Therefore I say unto you, all things, whatsoever you ask when ye pray, believe that you shall receive; and they shall come unto you. | For this reason I say to you, All things whatsoever ye pray for and ask, believe that ye receive it, and it shall come to pass for you. |
Mark 11:25 | And whenever you make a prayer, let there be forgiveness in your hearts, if you have anything against anyone; so that you may have forgiveness for your sins from your Father who is in heaven. | And when you shall stand to pray, forgive, if you have aught against any man; that your Father also, who is in heaven, may forgive you your sins. | And when ye stand praying, forgive if ye have anything against any one, that your Father also who is in the heavens may forgive you your offences. |
Mark 11:26 | [] | But if you will not forgive, neither will your Father that is in heaven, forgive you your sins. | But if *ye* do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in the heavens forgive your offences. |
Mark 11:27 | And they came again to Jerusalem: and while he was walking in the Temple, there came to him the chief priests and the scribes and those in authority: | And they come again to Jerusalem. And when he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests and the scribes and the ancients, | And they come again to Jerusalem. And as he walked about in the temple, the chief priests and the scribes and the elders come to him, |
Mark 11:28 | And they said to him, By what authority do you do these things? or who gave you authority to do these things? | And they say to him: By what authority dost thou these things? and who hath given thee this authority that thou shouldst do these things? | and they say to him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority, that thou shouldest do these things? |
Mark 11:29 | And Jesus said to them, I will put to you one question; give me an answer, and I will say by what authority I do these things. | And Jesus answering, said to them: I will also ask you one word, and answer you me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things. | And Jesus answering said to them, *I* also will ask you one thing, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things: |
Mark 11:30 | The baptism of John, was it from heaven or from men? give me an answer. | The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or from men? Answer me. | The baptism of John, was it of heaven, or of men? answer me. |
Mark 11:31 | And they gave thought to it among themselves, saying, If we say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did you not have faith in him? | But they thought with themselves, saying: If we say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did you not believe him? | And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we should say, Of heaven, he will say, Why [then] have ye not believed him? |
Mark 11:32 | But if we say, From men they were in fear of the people, because all took John to be truly a prophet. | If we say, From men, we fear the people. For all men counted John that he was a prophet indeed. | but should we say, Of men they feared the people; for all held of John that he was truly a prophet. |
Mark 11:33 | And they said in answer to Jesus, We have no idea. And Jesus said to them, And I will not say to you by what authority I do these things. | And they answering, say to Jesus: We know not. And Jesus answering, saith to them: Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things. | And they answering say to Jesus, We do not know. And Jesus [answering] says to them, Neither do *I* tell you by what authority I do these things. |
