Exodus 36:1So let Bezalel and Oholiab get to work, with every wise-hearted man to whom the Lord has given wisdom and knowledge, to do whatever is necessary for the ordering of the holy place, as the Lord has given orders.Beseleel, therefore, and Ooliab, and every wise man, to whom the Lord gave wisdom and understanding, to know how to work artificially, made the things that are necessary for the uses of the sanctuary, and which the Lord commanded. Then wrought Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise-hearted man, in whom the LORD put wisdom and understanding, to know how to work all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the LORD had commanded.
Exodus 36:2Then Moses sent for Bezalel and Oholiab, and for all the wise-hearted men to whom the Lord had given wisdom, even everyone who was moved by the impulse of his heart to come and take part in the work:And when Moses had called them, and every skilful man, to whom the Lord had given wisdom, and such as of their own accord had offered themselves to the making of the work,And Moses called Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise-hearted man, in whose heart the LORD had put wisdom, even every one whose heart excited him to come to the work to do it:
Exodus 36:3And they took from Moses all the offerings which the children of Israel had given for the building of the holy place. And still they went on giving him more free offerings every morning. He delivered all the offerings of the children of Israel unto them. And while they were earnest about the work, the people daily in the morning offered their vows. And they received from Moses all the offering which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, to make it. And they brought yet to him free-offerings every morning.
Exodus 36:4Then the wise men, who were doing all the work of the holy place, came from their work;Whereupon the workmen being constrained to come,And all the wise men, that wrought all the work of the sanctuary, came every man from his work which they made.
Exodus 36:5And said to Moses, The people are giving much more than is needed for the work which the Lord has given us orders to do.Said to Moses: The people offereth more than is necessary. And they spoke to Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the LORD commanded to make.
Exodus 36:6So Moses made an order and had it given out through all the tents, saying, Let no man or woman make any more offerings for the holy place. So the people were kept from giving more.Moses therefore commanded proclamation to be made by the crier's voice: Let neither man nor woman offer any more for the work of the sanctuary. And so they ceased from offering gifts,And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing.
Exodus 36:7For the material they had was enough and more than enough for all the work which had to be done.Because the things that were offered did suffice, and were too much. For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.
Exodus 36:8Then all the expert workmen among them made the House with its ten curtains; of the best linen, blue and purple and red, they made them, with winged ones worked by expert designers. And all the men that were wise of heart, to accomplish the work of the tabernacle, made ten curtains of twisted fine linen, and violet, and purple, and scarlet twice dyed, with varied work, and the art of embroidering:And every wise-hearted man among them that wrought the work of the tabernacle made ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: he made them with cherubim of curious work.
Exodus 36:9Every curtain was twenty-eight cubits long and four cubits wide, all of the same measure. The length of one curtain was twenty-eight cubits, and the breadth four: all the curtains were of the same size. The length of one curtain was twenty and eight cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: the curtains were all of one size.
Exodus 36:10And five curtains were joined together, and the other five curtains were joined together. And he joined five curtains, one to another, and the other five he coupled one to another. And he coupled the five curtains one to another: and the other five curtains he coupled one to another.
Exodus 36:11And they put twists of blue cord on the edge of the outside curtain of the first group, and in the same way on the outside curtain of the second group. He made also loops of violet in the edge of the curtain on both sides, and in the edge of the other curtain in like manner,And he made loops of blue on the edge of one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling: likewise he made in the extremity of another curtain, in the coupling of the second.
Exodus 36:12Fifty twists on the one curtain and fifty on the edge of the curtain of the other group; the twists being opposite to one another. That the loops might meet on against another, and might be joined each with the other.Fifty loops he made in one curtain, and fifty loops he made in the edge of the curtain which was in the coupling of the second: the loops held one curtain to another.
Exodus 36:13And they made fifty hooks of gold, joining the curtains one to another with the hooks; and so the House was made.Whereupon also he cast fifty rings of gold, that might catch the loops of the curtains, and they might be made one tabernacle. And he made fifty buttons of gold, and coupled the curtains one to another with the buttons. So it became one tabernacle.
Exodus 36:14And they made curtains of goats' hair for the tent; eleven curtains were made.He made also eleven curtains of goats' hair, to cover the roof of the tabernacle:And he made curtains of goats' hair for the tent over the tabernacle: eleven curtains he made them.
Exodus 36:15Every curtain was thirty cubits long and four cubits wide, all of the same measure. One curtain was thirty cubits long and four cubits broad: all the curtains were of one measure. The length of one curtain was thirty cubits, and four cubits was the breadth of one curtain: the eleven curtains were of one size.
Exodus 36:16Five curtains were joined together to make one group, and six curtains were joined together to make the other group.Five of which he joined apart, and the other six apart. And he coupled five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves.
Exodus 36:17And they put fifty twists of cord on the edge of the outside curtain of the first group, and fifty twists on the edge of the outside curtain of the second group,And he made fifty loops in the edge of one curtain, and fifty in the edge of another curtain, that they might be joined one to another. And he made fifty loops upon the outermost edge of the curtain in the coupling, and fifty loops made he upon the edge of the curtain which coupleth the second.
Exodus 36:18And fifty hooks of brass for joining them together to make the tent. And fifty buckles of brass wherewith the roof might be knit together, that of all the curtains there might be made one covering. And he made fifty buttons of brass to couple the tent together, that it might be one.
Exodus 36:19And they made a cover of sheepskins coloured red, to go over the tent, and a cover of leather over that.He made also a cover for the tabernacle of rams' skins dyed red: and another cover over that of violet skins. And he made a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red, and a covering of badgers' skins above that.
Exodus 36:20And for the uprights of the House they made boards of hard wood.He made also the boards of the tabernacle of setim wood standing. And he made boards for the tabernacle of shittim wood, standing up.
Exodus 36:21The boards were ten cubits long and one cubit and a half wide. The length of one board was ten cubits: and the breadth was one cubit and a half. The length of a board was ten cubits, and the breadth of a board one cubit and a half.
Exodus 36:22Every board had two tongues fixed into it; all the boards were made in this way. There were two mortises throughout every board, that one might be joined to the other. And in this manner he made for all the boards of the tabernacle. One board had two tenons, equally distant one from another; thus did he make for all the boards of the tabernacle.
Exodus 36:23They made twenty boards for the south side of the House:Of which twenty were at the south side southward,And he made boards for the tabernacle; twenty boards for the south side southward:
Exodus 36:24And for these twenty boards, forty silver bases, two bases under every board, to take its tongues. With forty sockets of silver, two sockets were put under one board on the two sides of the corners, where the mortises of the sides end in the corners. And forty sockets of silver he made under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for its two tenons, and two sockets under another board for its two tenons.
Exodus 36:25And for the second side of the House, on the north, they made twenty boards,At that side also of the tabernacle, that looketh toward the north, he made twenty boards. And for the other side of the tabernacle which is towards the north corner, he made twenty boards.
Exodus 36:26With their forty silver bases, two bases for every board. With forty sockets of silver, two sockets for every board. And their forty sockets of silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.
Exodus 36:27And for the west side of the House, at the back, they made six boards,But against the west, to wit, at that side of the tabernacle, which looketh to the sea, he made six boards,And for the sides of the tabernacle westward he made six boards.
Exodus 36:28And two boards for the angles at the back. And two others at each corner of the tabernacle behind:And two boards he made for the corners of the tabernacle in the two sides.
Exodus 36:29These were joined together at the base and at the top to one ring, so forming the two angles.Which were also joined from beneath unto the top, and went together into one joint. Thus he did on both sides at the corners:And they were coupled beneath, and coupled together at the head thereof, to one ring: thus he did to both of them in both the corners.
Exodus 36:30So there were eight boards with sixteen bases of silver, two bases under every board. So there were in all eight boards and they had sixteen sockets of silver, to wit, two sockets under every board. And there were eight boards; and their sockets were sixteen sockets of silver, under every board two sockets.
Exodus 36:31And they made rods of hard wood; five for the boards on one side of the House,He made also bars of setim wood, five to hold together the boards of one side of the tabernacle,And he made bars of shittim wood; five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle,
Exodus 36:32And five for the boards on the other side of the House, and five for the boards at the back, on the west. And five others to join together the boards of the other side: and besides these, five other bars at the west side of the tabernacle towards the sea.And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the tabernacle for the sides westward.
Exodus 36:33The middle rod was made to go right through the rings of all the boards from one end to the other. He made also another bar, that might come by the midst of the boards from corner to corner. And he made the middle bar to shoot through the boards from the one end to the other.
Exodus 36:34All the boards were plated with gold, and the rings through which the rods went were of gold, and the rods were plated with gold. And the board works themselves he overlaid with gold, casting for them sockets of silver. And their rings he made of gold, through which the bars might be drawn: and he covered the bars themselves with plates of gold. And he overlaid the boards with gold, and made their rings of gold to be places for the bars, and overlaid the bars with gold.
Exodus 36:35And he made the veil of the best linen, blue and purple and red, worked with winged ones designed by expert workmen. He made also a veil of violet, and purple, scarlet, and fine twisted linen, varied and distinguished with embroidery:And he made a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen: with cherubim he made it of curious work.
Exodus 36:36And they made four pillars for it of hard wood plated with gold: they had hooks of gold and four silver bases. And four pillars of setim wood, which with their heads be overlaid with gold, casting for them sockets of silver. And he made to it four pillars of shittim wood, and overlaid them with gold: their hooks were of gold; and he cast for them four sockets of silver.
Exodus 36:37And they made a curtain for the door of the tent, of the best linen with needlework of blue and purple and red;He made also a hanging in the entry of the tabernacle of violet, purple, scarlet, and fine twisted linen, with the work of an embroiderer.And he made a hanging for the tabernacle-door of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, of needle-work;
Exodus 36:38And five pillars for the curtain, with their hooks; the heads of the pillars were of gold and they were circled with bands of gold; and their five bases were of brass. And five pillars with their heads, which he covered with gold, and their sockets he cast of brass. And the five pillars of it, with their hooks: and he overlaid their capitals and their fillets with gold: but their five sockets were of brass.
