Mark 13:1And when he was going out of the Temple, one of his disciples said to him, Master, see, what stones and what buildings!And as he was going out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him: Master, behold what manner of stones and what buildings are here.As He was leaving the Temple, one of His disciples exclaimed, "Look, Rabbi, what wonderful stones! what wonderful buildings!"
Mark 13:2And Jesus said to him, Do you see these great buildings? there is not one stone here resting on another which will not be overturned.And Jesus answering, said to him: Seest thou all these great buildings? There shall not be left a stone upon a stone, that shall not be thrown down."You see all these great buildings?" Jesus replied; "not one stone will be left here upon another not thrown down."
Mark 13:3And while he was seated on the Mountain of Olives opposite the Temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew said to him privately,And as he sat on the mount of Olivet over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him apart:He was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite to the Temple, when Peter, James, John, and Andrew, apart from the others asked Him,
Mark 13:4Say when these things will be, and what will be the sign when these things are all about to be done.Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall begin to be fulfilled?"Tell us, When will these things be? and what will be the sign when all these predictions are on the point of being fulfilled?"
Mark 13:5And Jesus said to them, Take care that you are not tricked by anyone.And Jesus answering, began to say to them, Take heed lest any man deceive you.So Jesus began to say to them: "Take care that no one misleads you.
Mark 13:6People will come in my name, saying, I am he; and a number will be turned from the true way.For many shall come in my name, saying, I am he; and they shall deceive many.Many will come assuming my name and saying, `I am He;' and they will mislead many.
Mark 13:7And when you have news of wars and talk of wars, do not be troubled; these things have to be, but it is still not the end.And when you shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, fear ye not. For such things must needs be, but the end is not yet.But when you hear of wars and rumours of wars, do not be alarmed: come they must, but the End is not yet.
Mark 13:8Nation will go to war with nation, and kingdom with kingdom: there will be earth-shocks in different places; there will be times when there is no food; these things are the first of the troubles.For nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and famines. These things are the beginning of sorrows.For nation will rise in arms against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines. These miseries are but like the early pains of childbirth.
Mark 13:9But take care: for they will give you up to the Sanhedrins; and in Synagogues you will be whipped; and you will be taken before rulers and kings because of me, for a sign to them.But look to yourselves. For they shall deliver you up to councils, and in the synagogues you shall be beaten, and you shall stand before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony unto them."You yourselves must be on your guard. They will deliver you up to Sanhedrins; you will be brought into synagogues and cruelly beaten; and you will stand before governors and kings for my sake, to be witnesses to them for me.
Mark 13:10And the good news has first to be given to all the nations.And unto all nations the gospel must first be preached.But the proclamation of the Good News must be carried to all the Gentiles before the End comes.
Mark 13:11And when you are taken and given up to be judged, do not be troubled about what to say: but whatever is given to you in that hour, say: because it is not you who say it, but the Holy Spirit.And when they shall lead you and deliver you up, be not thoughtful beforehand what you shall speak; but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye. For it is not you that speak, but the Holy Ghost.When however they are marching you along under arrest, do not be anxious beforehand about what you are to say, but speak what is given you when the time comes; for it will not be you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
Mark 13:12And brother will give up brother to death, and the father his child; and children will go against their fathers and mothers, and put them to death.And the brother shall betray his brother unto death, and the father his son; and children shall rise up against the parents, and shall work their death."Brother will betray brother to be killed, and fathers will betray children; and children will rise against their parents and have them put to death.
Mark 13:13And you will be hated by all men, because of my name; but he who goes through to the end will have salvation.And you shall be hated by all men for my name's sake. But he that shall endure unto the end, he shall be saved.You will be objects of universal hatred because you are called by my name, but those who stand firm to the End will be saved.
Mark 13:14But when you see the unclean thing which makes destruction, in the place where it has no right to be (let this be clear to the reader), then let those who are in Judaea go quickly to the mountains:And when you shall see the abomination of desolation, standing where it ought not: he that readeth let him understand: then let them that are in Judea, flee unto the mountains:"As soon, however, as you see the Abomination of Desolation standing where he ought not" let the reader observe these words "then let those in Judaea escape to the hills;
Mark 13:15And let him who is on the house-top not go down, or go in, to take anything out of his house:And let him that is on the housetop, not go down into the house, nor enter therein to take any thing out of the house:let him who is on the roof not come down and enter the house to fetch anything out of it;
Mark 13:16And let not him who is in the field go back to take his coat.And let him that shall be in the field, not turn back to take up his garment.and let not him who is in the field turn back to pick up his outer garment.
Mark 13:17And it will be hard for women who are with child and for her who has a baby at the breast in those days.And woe to them that are with child, and that give suck in those days.And alas for the women who at that time are with child or have infants!
Mark 13:18And say a prayer that it may not be in the winter.But pray ye, that these things happen not in winter."But pray that it may not come in the winter.
Mark 13:19For in those days there will be sorrow, such as there has not been from the time when God made the world till now, and will not ever be again.For in those days shall be such tribulations, as were not from the beginning of the creation which God created until now, neither shall be.For those will be times of suffering the like of which has never been from the first creation of God's world until now, and assuredly never will be again;
Mark 13:20And if the Lord had not made the time short, no flesh would have been kept from destruction; but because of the saints he has made the time short.And unless the Lord had shortened the days, no flesh should be saved: but for the sake of the elect which he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.and but for the fact that the Lord has cut short those days, no one would escape; but for the sake of His own People whom He has chosen for Himself He has cut short the days.
Mark 13:21And then if any man says to you, See, here is Christ; or, See, there; have no faith in it:And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; lo, he is here: do not believe."At that time if any one says to you, `See, here is the Christ!' or `See, He is there!' do not believe it.
Mark 13:22Because there will be false Christs and false prophets, and they will give signs and wonders in the hope of turning even the saints from the true way.For there will rise up false Christs and false prophets, and they shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce (if it were possible) even the elect.For there will rise up false Christs and false prophets, displaying signs and prodigies with a view to lead astray if indeed that were possible even God's own People.
Mark 13:23But take care; see, I have made all things clear to you before the time.Take you heed therefore; behold I have foretold you all things.But as for yourselves, be on your guard: I have forewarned you of everything.
Mark 13:24But in those days, after that time of trouble, the sun will be made dark and the moon will not give her light,But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light."At that time, however, after that distress, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not shed her light;
Mark 13:25And the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers which are in the heavens will be moved.And the stars of heaven shall be falling down, and the powers that are in heaven, shall be moved.the stars will be seen falling from the firmament, and the forces which are in the heavens will be disordered and disturbed.
Mark 13:26And then they will see the Son of man coming in clouds with great power and glory.And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds, with great power and glory.And then will they see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.
Mark 13:27And then he will send out the angels, and will get together his saints from the four winds, from the farthest part of the earth to the farthest part of heaven.And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.Then He will send forth the angels and gather together His chosen People from north, south, east and west, from the remotest parts of the earth and the sky.
Mark 13:28Take an example from the fig-tree: when its branches become soft and put out their leaves, you see that the summer is near;Now of the fig tree learn ye a parable. When the branch thereof is now tender, and the leaves are come forth, you know that summer is very near."Learn from the fig-tree the lesson it teaches. As soon as its branch has become soft and it is bursting into leaf, you know that summer is near.
Mark 13:29Even so, when you see these things taking place, you may be certain that he is near, even at the doors.So you also when you shall see these things come to pass, know ye that it is very nigh, even at the doors.So also do you, when you see these things happening, be sure that He is near, at your very door.
Mark 13:30Truly, I say to you, This generation will not come to an end till all these things are complete.Amen I say to you, that this generation shall not pass, until all these things be done.I tell you in solemn truth that the present generation will certainly not pass away without all these things having first taken place.
Mark 13:31Heaven and earth will come to an end, but my words will not come to an end.Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my word shall not pass away.Earth and sky will pass away, but it is certain that my words will not pass away.
Mark 13:32But of that day or that hour no one has knowledge, not even the angels in heaven, or the Son, but the Father.But of that day or hour no man knoweth, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father."But as to that day or the exact time no one knows not even the angels in Heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.
Mark 13:33Take care, keep watch with prayer: for you are not certain when the time will be.Take ye heed, watch and pray. For ye know not when the time is.Take care, be on the alert, and pray; for you do not know when it will happen.
Mark 13:34It is as when a man who is in another country for a time, having gone away from his house, and given authority to his servants and to everyone his work, gives the porter an order to keep watch.Even as a man who going into a far country, left his house; and gave authority to his servants over every work, and commanded the porter to watch.It is like a man living abroad who has left his house, and given the management to his servants to each one his special duty and has ordered the porter to keep awake.
Mark 13:35So you are to keep watch: because you are not certain when the master of the house is coming, in the evening, or in the middle of the night, or at the cock's cry, or in the morning;Watch ye therefor, (for you know not when the lord of the house cometh: at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning,)Be wakeful therefore, for you know not when the master of the house is coming in the evening, at midnight, at cock-crow, or at dawn.
Mark 13:36For fear that, coming suddenly, he sees you sleeping.Lest coming on a sudden, he find you sleeping.Beware lest He should arrive unexpectedly and find you asleep.
Mark 13:37And what I say to you, I say to all, Keep watch.And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch.Moreover, what I say to you I say to all Be wakeful!"
