Acts 6:1Now in those days, when the number of the disciples was increasing, protests were made by the Greek Jews against the Hebrews, because their widows were not taken care of in the distribution of food every day.And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration. But in those days, the disciples multiplying in number, there arose a murmuring of the Hellenists against the Hebrews because their widows were overlooked in the daily ministration.
Acts 6:2And the Apostles sent for all the disciples and said, It is not right for us to give up preaching the word of God in order to make distribution of food. Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. And the twelve, having called the multitude of the disciples to [them], said, It is not right that we, leaving the word of God, should serve tables.
Acts 6:3Take then from among you seven men of good name, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, to whom we may give control of this business.Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. Look out therefore, brethren, from among yourselves seven men, well reported of, full of [the] [Holy] Spirit and wisdom, whom we will establish over this business:
Acts 6:4Then we will give all our time to prayer and the teaching of the word. But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. but *we* will give ourselves up to prayer and the ministry of the word.
Acts 6:5And this saying was pleasing to all of them: and they made selection of Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip and Prochorus and Nicanor and Timon and Parmenas and Nicolas of Antioch, who had become a Jew:And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch: And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and [the] Holy Spirit, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte of Antioch,
Acts 6:6These they took to the Apostles, who, after prayer, put their hands on them.Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them. whom they set before the apostles; and, having prayed, they laid their hands on them.
Acts 6:7And the word of God was increasing in power; and the number of the disciples in Jerusalem became very great, and a great number of priests were in agreement with the faith. And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith. And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples in Jerusalem was very greatly multiplied, and a great crowd of the priests obeyed the faith.
Acts 6:8And Stephen, full of grace and power, did great wonders and signs among the people. And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people. And Stephen, full of grace and power, wrought wonders and great signs among the people.
Acts 6:9But some of those who were of the Synagogue named that of the Libertines, and some of the men of Cyrene and of Alexandria and those from Cilicia and Asia, had arguments with Stephen. Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen. And there arose up certain of those of the synagogue called of freedmen, and of Cyrenians, and of Alexandrians, and of those of Cilicia and Asia, disputing with Stephen.
Acts 6:10But they were not able to get the better of him, for his words were full of wisdom and of the Spirit. And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake. And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit with which he spoke.
Acts 6:11Then they got men to say, He has said evil against Moses and against God, in our hearing. Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God. Acts 6:12And the people, with the rulers and the scribes, were moved against him, and they came and took him before the Sanhedrin,And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council, And they roused the people, and the elders, and the scribes. And coming upon [him] they seized him and brought [him] to the council.

Acts 6:14For he has said in our hearing that this Jesus of Nazareth will put this place to destruction and make changes in the rules which were handed down to us by Moses. For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us. for we have heard him saying, This Jesus the Nazaraean shall destroy this place, and change the customs which Moses taught us.
Acts 6:15And all those who were in the Sanhedrin, looking at him, saw that his face was like the face of an angel. And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel. And all who sat in the council, looking fixedly on him, saw his face as [the] face of an angel.
