Genesis 25:1And Abraham took another wife named Keturah.Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah. And Abraham married another wife, named Cetura:
Genesis 25:2She became the mother of Zimran and Jokshan and Medan and Midian and Ishbak and Shuah.And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. Who bore to him Zamran, and Jecsan, and Madan, and Madian, and Jesboc, and Sue.
Genesis 25:3And Jokshan became the father of Sheba and Dedan. And from Dedan came the Asshurim and Letushim and Leummim.And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim. Jecsan also begot Saba and Dadan. The children of Dadan were Assurim, and Latusim, and Loomin.
Genesis 25:4And from Midian came Ephah and Epher and Hanoch and Abida and Eldaah. All these were the offspring of Keturah.And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah. But of Madian was born Epha, and Opher, and Henoch, and Abida, and Eldaa: all these were the children of Cetura.
Genesis 25:5Now Abraham gave all his property to Isaac;And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac. And Abraham gave all his possessions to Isaac.
Genesis 25:6But to the sons of his other women he gave offerings, and sent them away, while he was still living, into the east country.But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country. And to the children of the concubines he gave gifts, and separated them from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, to the east country.
Genesis 25:7Now the years of Abraham's life were a hundred and seventy-five.And these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years. And the days of Abraham's life were a hundred and seventy-five years.
Genesis 25:8And Abraham came to his death, an old man, full of years; and he was put to rest with his people.Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people. And decaying he died in a good old age, and having lived a long time, and being full of days: and was gathered to his people.
Genesis 25:9And Isaac and Ishmael, his sons, put him to rest in the hollow rock of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron, the son of Zohar the Hittite, near Mamre;And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre; And Isaac and Ismael his sons buried him in the double cave, which was situated in the field of Ephron the son of Seor the Hethite, over against Mambre;
Genesis 25:10The same field which Abraham got from the children of Heth: there Abraham was put to rest with Sarah, his wife.The field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife. Which he had bought of the children of Heth: there was he buried, and Sara his wife.
Genesis 25:11Now after the death of Abraham, the blessing of God was with Isaac, his son.And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahai-roi. And after his death, God blessed Isaac his son, who dwelt by the well named Of the living and seeing.
Genesis 25:12Now these are the generations of Ishmael, the son of Abraham, whose mother was Hagar the Egyptian, the servant of Sarah:Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, bare unto Abraham: These are the generations of Ismael the son of Abraham, whom Agar the Egyptian, Sara's servant, bore unto him:
Genesis 25:13These are the names of the sons of Ishmael by their generations: Ishmael's first son was Nebaioth; then Kedar and Adbeel and MibsamAnd these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam, And these are the names of his children according to their calling and generations. The firstborn of Ismael was Nabajoth, then Cedar, and Adbeel, and Mabsam.
Genesis 25:14And Mishma and Dumah and Massa,And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa, And Masma, and Duma, and Massa,
Genesis 25:15Hadad and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah: Hadar, and Thema, and Jethur, and Naphis, and Cedma.
Genesis 25:16These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names in their towns and their tent-circles; twelve chiefs with their peoples.These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations. These are the sons of Ismael: and these are their names by their castles and towns, twelve princes of their tribes.
Genesis 25:17And the years of Ishmael's life were a hundred and thirty-seven: and he came to his end, and was put to rest with his people.And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and was gathered unto his people. And the years of Ismael's life were a hundred and thirty-seven, and decaying he died, and was gathered unto his people.
Genesis 25:18And their country was from Havilah to Shur which is east of Egypt: they took their place to the east of all their brothers.And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren. And he dwelt from Hevila as far as Sur, which looketh towards Egypt, to them that go towards the Assyrians. He died in the presence of all his brethren.
Genesis 25:19Now these are the generations of Abraham's son Isaac:And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son: Abraham begat Isaac: These also are the generations of Isaac the son of Abraham: Abraham begot Isaac:
Genesis 25:20Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel the Aramaean of Paddan-aram, and the sister of Laban the Aramaean, to be his wife.And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan-aram, the sister to Laban the Syrian. Who when he was forty years old, took to wife Rebecca the daughter of Bathuel the Syrian of Mesopotamia, sister to Laban.
Genesis 25:21Isaac made prayer to the Lord for his wife because she had no children; and the Lord gave ear to his prayer, and Rebekah became with child.And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived. And Isaac besought the Lord for his wife, because she was barren; and he heard him, and made Rebecca to conceive.
Genesis 25:22And the children were fighting together inside her, and she said, If it is to be so, why am I like this? So she went to put her question to the Lord.And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to enquire of the LORD. But the children struggled in her womb: and she said: If it were to be so with me, what need was there to conceive? And she went to consult the Lord.
Genesis 25:23And the Lord said to her, Two nations are in your body, and two peoples will come to birth from you: the one will be stronger than the other, and the older will be the servant of the younger.And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger. And he answering said: Two nations are in thy womb, and two peoples shall be divided out of thy womb, and one people shall overcome the other, and the elder shall serve the younger.
Genesis 25:24And when the time came for her to give birth, there were two children in her body.And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb. And when her time was come to be delivered, behold twins were found in her womb.
Genesis 25:25And the first came out red from head to foot like a robe of hair, and they gave him the name of Esau.And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau. He that came forth first was red, and hairy like a skin: and his name was called Esau. Immediately the other coming forth, held his brother's foot in his hand, and therefore he was called Jacob.
Genesis 25:26And after him, his brother came out, gripping Esau's foot; and he was named Jacob: Isaac was sixty years old when she gave birth to them.And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them. Isaac was threescore years old when the children were born unto him.
Genesis 25:27And the boys came to full growth; and Esau became a man of the open country, an expert bowman; but Jacob was a quiet man, living in tents.And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents. And when they were grown up, Esau became a skillful hunter, and a husbandman, but Jacob a plain man dwelt in tents.
Genesis 25:28Now Isaac's love was for Esau, because Esau's meat was greatly to his taste: but Rebekah had more love for Jacob.And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob. Isaac loved Esau, because he ate of his hunting: and Rebecca loved Jacob.
Genesis 25:29And one day Jacob was cooking some soup when Esau came in from the fields in great need of food;And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint: And Jacob boiled Pottage: to whom Esau, coming faint out of the field,
Genesis 25:30And Esau said to Jacob, Give me a full meal of that red soup, for I am overcome with need for food: for this reason he was named Edom.And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom. Said: Give me of this red pottage, for I am exceeding faint. For which reason his name was called Edom.
Genesis 25:31And Jacob said, First of all give me your birthright.And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright. And Jacob said to him: Sell me thy first birthright.
Genesis 25:32And Esau said, Truly, I am at the point of death: what profit is the birthright to me?And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me? He answered: Lo I die, what will the first birthright avail me.
Genesis 25:33And Jacob said, First of all give me your oath; and he gave him his oath, handing over his birthright to Jacob.And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob. Jacob said: Swear therefore to me. Esau swore to him, and sold his first birthright.
Genesis 25:34Then Jacob gave him bread and soup; and he took food and drink and went away, caring little for his birthright.Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright. And so taking bread and the pottage of lentils, he ate, and drank, and went his way; making little account of having sold his first birthright.
