Ezekiel 27:1The word of the Lord came to me again, saying,The word of the LORD came again to me, saying,And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying:
Ezekiel 27:2And you, son of man, make a song of grief for Tyre;Now, thou son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyre;And thou, son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyre,
Ezekiel 27:3And say to Tyre, O you who are seated at the doorway of the sea, trading for the peoples with the great sea-lands, these are the words of the Lord: You, O Tyre, have said, I am a ship completely beautiful.And say to Tyre, O thou that art situated at the entry of the sea, which art a merchant of the people for many isles, Thus saith the Lord GOD; O Tyre, thou hast said, I am of perfect beauty.and say unto Tyre: O thou that art situate at the entries of the sea, and traffickest with the peoples in many isles, thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Thou, Tyre, hast said, I am perfect in beauty.
Ezekiel 27:4Your builders have made your outlines in the heart of the seas, they have made you completely beautiful.Thy borders are in the midst of the seas, thy builders have perfected thy beauty.Thy borders are in the heart of the seas, thy builders have perfected thy beauty.
Ezekiel 27:5They have made all your boards of fir-trees from Senir: they have taken cedars from Lebanon to make the supports for your sails.They have made all thy ship-boards of fir-trees of Senir: they have taken cedars from Lebanon to make masts for thee.They made all thy double boards of cypress-trees of Senir; they took cedars from Lebanon to make masts for thee.
Ezekiel 27:6Of oak-trees from Bashan they have made your driving blades; they have made your floors of ivory and boxwood from the sea-lands of Kittim.Of the oaks of Bashan have they made thy oars; the company of the Ashurites have made thy benches of ivory, brought out of the isles of Chittim.Of the oaks of Bashan did they make thine oars; they made thy benches of ivory, inlaid in box-wood, out of the isles of Chittim.
Ezekiel 27:7The best linen with needlework from Egypt was your sail, stretched out to be a flag for you; blue and purple from the sea-lands of Elishah gave you shade.Fine linen with broidered work from Egypt was that which thou spreadest forth to be thy sail; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was that which covered thee.Byssus with broidered work from Egypt was thy sail, to serve thee for a banner; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was thine awning.
Ezekiel 27:8The people of Zidon and Arvad were your boatmen; the wise men of Zemer were in you; they were guiding your ships;The inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad were thy mariners: thy wise men, O Tyre, that were in thee, were thy pilots.The inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad were thy rowers; thy wise men, O Tyre, who were in thee, were thy pilots.
Ezekiel 27:9The responsible men of Gebal and its wise men were in you, making your boards watertight: all the ships of the sea with their seamen were in you trading in your goods.The ancients of Gebal and its wise men were in thee thy calkers: all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in thee to occupy thy merchandise.The elders of Gebal and the wise men thereof were in thee repairing thy leaks; all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in thee, to barter with thee.
Ezekiel 27:10Cush and Lud and Put were in your army, your men of war, hanging up their body-covers and head-dresses of war in you: they gave you your glory.They of Persia and of Lud and of Phut were in thy army, thy military men: they hung the shield and helmet in thee; they set forth thy comeliness.Persia and Lud and Phut were in thine army, thy men of war: they hanged shield and helmet in thee; they gave splendour to thee.
Ezekiel 27:11The men of Arvad in your army were on your walls, and were watchmen in your towers, hanging up their arms on your walls round about; they made you completely beautiful.The men of Arvad with thy army were upon thy walls on all sides, and the Gammadims were in thy towers: they hung their shields upon thy walls on every side; they have made thy beauty perfect.The children of Arvad with thine army were upon thy walls round about, and the Gammadim were on thy towers: they hanged their shields upon thy walls round about; they made thy beauty perfect.
Ezekiel 27:12Tarshish did business with you because of the great amount of your wealth; they gave silver, iron, tin, and lead for your goods.Tarshish was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of all kind of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded in thy fairs.Tarshish dealt with thee by reason of the abundance of all substance; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they furnished thy markets.
Ezekiel 27:13Javan, Tubal, and Meshech were your traders; they gave living men and brass vessels for your goods.Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were thy merchants: they traded in the persons of men and vessels of brass in thy market.Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were thy traffickers: they bartered with thee the persons of men, and vessels of bronze.
Ezekiel 27:14The people of Togarmah gave horses and war-horses and transport beasts for your goods.They of the house of Togarmah traded in thy fairs with horses and horsemen and mules.They of the house of Togarmah furnished thy markets with horses, and horsemen, and mules.
Ezekiel 27:15The men of Rodan were your traders: a great number of sea-lands did business with you: they gave you horns of ivory and ebony as an offering.The men of Dedan were thy merchants; many isles were the merchandise of thy hand: they brought thee for a present horns of ivory and ebony.The children of Dedan were thy traffickers; many isles were the mart of thy hand: they rendered in payment horns of ivory, and ebony.
Ezekiel 27:16Edom did business with you because of the great number of things which you made; they gave emeralds, purple, and needlework, and the best linen and coral and rubies for your goods.Syria was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of the wares of thy making: they occupied in thy fairs with emeralds, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and agate.Syria dealt with thee for the multitude of thy handiworks: they traded in thy markets with carbuncles, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and corals, and rubies.
Ezekiel 27:17Judah and the land of Israel were your traders; they gave grain of Minnith and sweet cakes and honey and oil and perfume for your goods.Judah, and the land of Israel, they were thy merchants: they traded in thy market in wheat of Minnith, and Pannag, and honey, and oil, and balm.Judah and the land of Israel were thy traffickers: they bartered with thee wheat of Minnith, and sweet cakes, and honey, and oil, and balm.
Ezekiel 27:18Damascus did business with you because of the great amount of your wealth, with wine of Helbon and white wool.Damascus was thy merchant in the multitude of the wares of thy making, for the multitude of all riches; in the wine of Helbon, and white wool.Damascus dealt with thee because of the multitude of thy handiworks, by reason of the abundance of all substance, with wine of Helbon, and white wool.
Ezekiel 27:19... for your goods: they gave polished iron and spices for your goods.Dan also and Javan going to and fro occupied in thy fairs: bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were in thy market.Vedan and Javan of Uzal traded in thy markets: wrought iron, cassia, and calamus were in thy traffic.
Ezekiel 27:20Dedan did trade with you in cloths for the backs of horses.Dedan was thy merchant in precious clothes for chariots.Dedan was thy trafficker in precious riding-cloths.
Ezekiel 27:21Arabia and all the rulers of Kedar did business with you; in lambs and sheep and goats, in these they did business with you.Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar, they occupied with thee in lambs, and rams, and goats: in these were they thy merchants.Arabia and all the princes of Kedar were the merchants of thy hand: in lambs, and rams, and goats, in these did they trade with thee.
Ezekiel 27:22The traders of Sheba and Raamah did trade with you; they gave the best of all sorts of spices and all sorts of stones of great price and gold for your goods.The merchants of Sheba and Raamah, they were thy merchants: they occupied in thy fairs with chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.The merchants of Sheba and Raamah were thy traffickers: they furnished thy markets with all the choice spices, and with all precious stones and gold.
Ezekiel 27:23Haran and Canneh and Eden, the traders of Asshur and all the Medes:Haran, and Canneh, and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur, and Chilmad, were thy merchants.Haran, and Canneh, and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur, and Chilmad traded with thee:
Ezekiel 27:24These were your traders in beautiful robes, in rolls of blue and needlework, and in chests of coloured cloth, corded with cords and made of cedar-wood, in them they did trade with you.These were thy merchants in all sorts of things, in blue clothes, and broidered work, and in chests of rich apparel, bound with cords, and made of cedar, among thy merchandise.these traded with thee in sumptuous clothes, in wrappings of blue and broidered work, and in chests full of variegated stuffs, bound with cords and made of cedar-wood, amongst thy merchandise.
Ezekiel 27:25Tarshish ships did business for you in your goods: and you were made full, and great was your glory in the heart of the seas.The ships of Tarshish did sing of thee in thy market; and thou wast replenished, and made very glorious in the midst of the seas.The ships of Tarshish were thy caravans for thy traffic; and thou wast replenished, and highly honoured, in the heart of the seas.
Ezekiel 27:26Your boatmen have taken you into great waters: you have been broken by the east wind in the heart of the seas.Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the midst of the seas.Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters; the east wind hath broken thee in the heart of the seas.
Ezekiel 27:27Your wealth and your goods, the things in which you do trade, your seamen and those guiding your ships, those who make your boards watertight, and those who do business with your goods, and all your men of war who are in you, with all who have come together in you, will go down into the heart of the seas in the day of your downfall.Thy riches, and thy fairs, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calkers, and the occupiers of thy merchandise, and all thy military men, that are in thee, and in all thy company which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the midst of the seas in the day of thy ruin.Thy substance, and thy markets, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, they that repair thy leaks, and they that barter with thee, and all thy men of war that are in thee, along with all thine assemblage which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the heart of the seas in the day of thy fall.
Ezekiel 27:28At the sound of the cry of your ships' guides, the boards of the ship will be shaking.The suburbs shall shake at the sound of the cry of thy pilots.The open places shall shake at the sound of the cry of thy pilots.
Ezekiel 27:29And all the boatmen, the seamen and those who are expert at guiding a ship through the sea, will come down from their ships and take their places on the land;And all that handle the oar, the mariners, and all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships, they shall stand upon the land;And all that handle the oar, the mariners, all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships; they shall stand upon the land,
Ezekiel 27:30And their voices will be sounding over you, and crying bitterly they will put dust on their heads, rolling themselves in the dust:And shall cause their voice to be heard against thee, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust upon their heads, they shall wallow themselves in the ashes:and shall cause their voice to be heard over thee, and shall cry bitterly; and they shall cast up dust upon their heads; they shall wallow themselves in ashes.
Ezekiel 27:31And they will have the hair of their heads cut off because of you, and will put haircloth on their bodies, weeping for you with bitter grief in their souls, even with bitter sorrow.And they shall make themselves utterly bald for thee, and gird themselves with sackcloth, and they shall weep for thee with bitterness of heart and bitter wailing.And they shall make themselves utterly bald for thee, and gird themselves with sackcloth; and they shall weep for thee in bitterness of soul with bitter mourning.
Ezekiel 27:32And in their weeping they will make a song of grief for you, sorrowing over you and saying, Who is like Tyre, who has come to an end in the deep sea?And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, saying, What city is like Tyre, like the destroyed in the midst of the sea?And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, [saying,] Who is like Tyre, like her that is destroyed in the midst of the sea?
Ezekiel 27:33When your goods went out over the seas, you made numbers of peoples full; the wealth of the kings of the earth was increased with your great wealth and all your goods.When thy wares went forth out of the seas, thou filledst many people; thou didst enrich the kings of the earth with the multitude of thy riches and of thy merchandise.When thy wares went forth over the seas, thou filledst many peoples; thou didst enrich the kings of the earth with the abundance of thy substance and of thy merchandise.
Ezekiel 27:34Now that you are broken by the seas in the deep waters, your goods and all your people will go down with you.In the time when thou shalt be broken by the seas in the depths of the waters, thy merchandise and all thy company in the midst of thee shall fall.In the time [when] thou art broken by the seas, in the depths of the waters, thy merchandise and all thine assemblage in the midst of thee have fallen.
Ezekiel 27:35All the people of the sea-lands are overcome with wonder at you, and their kings are full of fear, their faces are troubled.All the inhabitants of the isles shall be astonished at thee, and their kings shall be terribly afraid, they shall be troubled in their countenance.All the inhabitants of the isles are amazed at thee, and their kings are horribly afraid, [their] countenance is troubled.
Ezekiel 27:36Those who do business among the peoples make sounds of surprise at you; you have become a thing of fear, you have come to an end for ever.The merchants among the people shall hiss at thee; thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt be any more.The merchants among the peoples hiss at thee; thou art become a terror, and thou shalt never be any more.
