Genesis 35:1And God said to Jacob, Go up now to Beth-el and make your living-place there: and put up an altar there to the God who came to you when you were in flight from your brother Esau.And God said to Jacob, Arise, go up to Beth-el, and dwell there: and make there an altar to God, who appeared to thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.And God saith unto Jacob, `Rise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there, and make there an altar to God, who appeared unto thee in thy fleeing from the face of Esau thy brother.`
Genesis 35:2Then Jacob said to all his people, Put away the strange gods which are among you, and make yourselves clean, and put on a change of clothing:Then Jacob said to his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:And Jacob saith unto his household, and unto all who [are] with him, `Turn aside the gods of the stranger which [are] in your midst, and cleanse yourselves, and change your garments;
Genesis 35:3And let us go up to Beth-el: and there I will make an altar to God, who gave me an answer in the day of my trouble, and was with me wherever I went.And let us arise, and go up to Beth-el; and I will make there an altar to God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.and we rise, and go up to Bethel, and I make there an altar to God, who is answering me in the day of my distress, and is with me in the way that I have gone.`
Genesis 35:4Then they gave to Jacob all the strange gods which they had, and the rings which were in their ears; and Jacob put them away under the holy tree at Shechem.And they gave to Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and the ear-rings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.And they give unto Jacob all the gods of the stranger that [are] in their hand, and the rings that [are] in their ears, and Jacob hideth them under the oak which [is] by Shechem;
Genesis 35:5So they went on their journey: and the fear of God was on the towns round about, so that they made no attack on the sons of Jacob.And they journeyed: and the terror of God was on the cities that were round them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.and they journey, and the terror of God is on the cities which [are] round about them, and they have not pursued after the sons of Jacob.
Genesis 35:6And Jacob came to Luz in the land of Canaan (which is the same as Beth-el), he and all his people.So Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan (that is Beth-el) he and all the people that were with him.And Jacob cometh in to Luz which [is] in the land of Canaan (it [is] Bethel), he and all the people who [are] with him,
Genesis 35:7And there he made an altar, naming the place El-beth-el: because it was there he had the vision of God when he was in flight from his brother.And he erected there an altar, and called the place El-beth-el; because there God appeared to him, when he fled from the face of his brother.and he buildeth there an altar, and proclaimeth at the place the God of Bethel: for there had God been revealed unto him, in his fleeing from the face of his brother.
Genesis 35:8And Deborah, the servant who had taken care of Rebekah from her birth, came to her end, and was put to rest near Beth-el, under the holy tree: and they gave it the name of Allon-bacuth.But Deborah, Rebekah's nurse, died, and she was buried beneath Beth-el, under an oak: and the name of it was called Allon-bachuth.And Deborah, Rebekah`s nurse, dieth, and she is buried at the lower part of Bethel, under the oak, and he calleth its name `Oak of weeping.`
Genesis 35:9Now when Jacob was on his way from Paddan-aram, God came to him again and, blessing him, said,And God appeared to Jacob again when he came out of Padan-aram; and blessed him.And God appeareth unto Jacob again, in his coming from Padan-Aram, and blesseth him;
Genesis 35:10Jacob is your name, but it will be so no longer; from now your name will be Israel; so he was named Israel.And God said to him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name; and he called his name Israel.and God saith to him, `Thy name [is] Jacob: thy name is no more called Jacob, but Israel is thy name;` and He calleth his name Israel.
Genesis 35:11And God said to him, I am God, the Ruler of all: be fertile, and have increase; a nation, truly a group of nations, will come from you, and kings will be your offspring;And God said to him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a multitude of nations shall spring from thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins.And God saith to him, `I [am] God Almighty; be fruitful and multiply, a nation and an assembly of nations is from thee, and kings from thy loins go out;
Genesis 35:12And the land which I gave to Abraham and Isaac, I will give to you; and to your seed after you I will give the land.And the land which I gave to Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.and the land which I have given to Abraham and to Isaac to thee I give it, yea to thy seed after thee I give the land.`
Genesis 35:13Then God went up from him in the place where he had been talking with him.And God went up from him, in the place where he talked with him.And God goeth up from him, in the place where He hath spoken with him.
Genesis 35:14And Jacob put up a pillar in the place where he had been talking with God, and put a drink offering on it, and oil.And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink-offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon.And Jacob setteth up a standing pillar in the place where He hath spoken with him, a standing pillar of stone, and he poureth on it an oblation, and he poureth on it oil;
Genesis 35:15And he gave to the place where God had been talking with him, the name of Beth-el.And Jacob called the name of the place where God spoke with him, Beth-el.and Jacob calleth the name of the place where God spake with him Bethel.
Genesis 35:16So they went on from Beth-el; and while they were still some distance from Ephrath, the pains of birth came on Rachel and she had a hard time.And they journeyed from Beth-el; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labor.And they journey from Bethel, and there is yet a kibrath of land before entering Ephratha, and Rachel beareth, and is sharply pained in her bearing;
Genesis 35:17And when her pain was very great, the woman who was helping her said, Have no fear; for now you will have another son.And it came to pass when she was in hard labor, that the midwife said to her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.and it cometh to pass, in her being sharply pained in her bearing, that the midwife saith to her, `Fear not, for this also [is] a son for thee.`
Genesis 35:18And in the hour when her life went from her (for death came to her), she gave the child the name Ben-oni: but his father gave him the name of Benjamin.And it came to pass as her soul was in departing (for she died) that she called his name Ben-oni: but his father called him Benjamin.And it cometh to pass in the going out of her soul (for she died), that she calleth his name Ben-Oni; and his father called him Benjamin;
Genesis 35:19So Rachel came to her end and was put to rest on the road to Ephrath (which is Beth-lehem).And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Beth-lehem.and Rachel dieth, and is buried in the way to Ephratha, which [is] Bethlehem,
Genesis 35:20And Jacob put up a pillar on her resting-place; which is named, The Pillar of the resting-place of Rachel, to this day.And Jacob set a pillar on her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel's grave to this day.and Jacob setteth up a standing pillar over her grave; which [is] the standing pillar of Rachel`s grave unto this day.
Genesis 35:21And Israel went journeying on and put up his tents on the other side of the tower of the flock.And Israel journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Edar.And Israel journeyeth, and stretcheth out his tent beyond the tower of Edar;
Genesis 35:22Now while they were living in that country, Reuben had connection with Bilhah, his father's servant-woman: and Israel had news of it.And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine: and Israel heard it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:and it cometh to pass in Israel`s dwelling in that land, that Reuben goeth, and lieth with Bilhah his father`s concubine; and Israel heareth.
Genesis 35:23Now Jacob had twelve sons: the sons of Leah: Reuben, Jacob's first son, and Simeon and Levi and Judah and Issachar and Zebulun;The sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob's first-born, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun:And the sons of Jacob are twelve. Sons of Leah: Jacob`s first-born Reuben, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun.
Genesis 35:24The sons of Rachel: Joseph and Benjamin;The sons of Rachel; Joseph, and Benjamin:Sons of Rachel: Joseph and Benjamin.
Genesis 35:25The sons of Bilhah, Rachel's servant: Dan and Naphtali;And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel's handmaid; Dan, and Naphtali:And sons of Bilhah, Rachel`s maid-servant: Dan and Naphtali.
Genesis 35:26The sons of Zilpah, Leah's servant: Gad and Asher; these are the sons whom Jacob had in Paddan-aram.And the sons of Zilpah, Leah's handmaid; Gad, and Asher. These are the sons of Jacob, who were born to him in Padan-aram.And sons of Zilpah, Leah`s maid-servant: Gad and Asher. These [are] sons of Jacob, who have been born to him in Padan-Aram.
Genesis 35:27And Jacob came to his father Isaac at Mamre, at Kiriath-arba, that is, Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac had been living.And Jacob came to Isaac his father to Mamre, to the city of Arbah (which is Hebron) where Abraham and Isaac sojourned.And Jacob cometh unto Isaac his father, at Mamre, the city of Arba (which [is] Hebron), where Abraham and Isaac have sojourned.
Genesis 35:28And Isaac was a hundred and eighty years old.And the days of Isaac were a hundred and eighty years.And the days of Isaac are a hundred and eighty years,
Genesis 35:29Then Isaac came to his end and was put to rest with his father's people, an old man after a long life: and Jacob and Esau, his sons, put him in his last resting-place.And Isaac expired and died, and was gathered to his people, being old and full of days; and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.and Isaac expireth, and dieth, and is gathered unto his people, aged and satisfied with days; and bury him do Esau and Jacob his sons.
