Romans 15:1 | We who are strong have to be a support to the feeble, and not give pleasure to ourselves. | We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. | And we ought we who are strong to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves; |
Romans 15:2 | Let every one of us give pleasure to his neighbour for his good, to make him strong. | Let every one of us please his neighbor for his good to edification. | for let each one of us please the neighbor for good, unto edification, |
Romans 15:3 | For Christ did not give pleasure to himself, but, as it is said, The bitter words of those who were angry with you came on me. | For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me. | for even the Christ did not please himself, but, according as it hath been written, `The reproaches of those reproaching Thee fell upon me;` |
Romans 15:4 | Now those things which were put down in writing before our time were for our learning, so that through quiet waiting and through the comfort of the holy Writings we might have hope. | For whatever things were written formerly, were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. | for, as many things as were written before, for our instruction were written before, that through the endurance, and the exhortation of the Writings, we might have the hope. |
Romans 15:5 | Now may the God who gives comfort and strength in waiting make you of the same mind with one another in harmony with Christ Jesus: | Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be like-minded one towards another according to Christ Jesus: | And may the God of the endurance, and of the exhortation, give to you to have the same mind toward one another, according to Christ Jesus; |
Romans 15:6 | So that with one mouth you may give glory to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. | That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. | that with one accord with one mouth ye may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ; |
Romans 15:7 | So then, take one another to your hearts, as Christ took us, to the glory of God. | Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God. | wherefore receive ye one another, according as also the Christ did receive us, to the glory of God. |
Romans 15:8 | Now I say that Christ has been made a servant of the circumcision to give effect to the undertakings given by God to the fathers, | Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers: | And I say Jesus Christ to have become a ministrant of circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises to the fathers, |
Romans 15:9 | And so that the Gentiles might give glory to God for his mercy; as it is said, For this reason I will give praise to you among the Gentiles, and I will make a song to your name. | And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing to thy name. | and the nations for kindness to glorify God, according as it hath been written, `Because of this I will confess to Thee among nations, and to Thy name I will sing praise,` |
Romans 15:10 | And again he says, Take part, you Gentiles, in the joy of his people. | And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people. | and again it saith, `Rejoice ye nations, with His people;` |
Romans 15:11 | And again, Give praise to the Lord, all you Gentiles; and let all the nations give praise to him. | And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people. | and again, `Praise the Lord, all ye nations; and laud Him, all ye peoples;` |
Romans 15:12 | And again Isaiah says, There will be the root of Jesse, and he who comes to be the ruler over the Gentiles; in him will the Gentiles put their hope. | And again Isaiah saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust. | and again, Isaiah saith, `There shall be the root of Jesse, and he who is rising to rule nations upon him shall nations hope;` |
Romans 15:13 | Now may the God of hope make you full of joy and peace through faith, so that all hope may be yours in the power of the Holy Spirit. | Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit. | and the God of the hope shall fill you with all joy and peace in the believing, for your abounding in the hope in power of the Holy Spirit. |
Romans 15:14 | And I myself am certain of you, brothers, that you are full of what is good, complete in all knowledge, able to give direction to one another. | And I myself also am persuaded concerning you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another. | And I am persuaded, my brethren I myself also concerning you, that ye yourselves also are full of goodness, having been filled with all knowledge, able also one another to admonish; |
Romans 15:15 | But I have, in some measure, less fear in writing to you to put these things before you again, because of the grace which was given to me by God, | Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly to you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me from God. | and the more boldly I did write to you, brethren, in part, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me by God, |
Romans 15:16 | To be a servant of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, doing the work of a priest in the good news of God, so that the offering of the Gentiles might be pleasing to God, being made holy by the Holy Spirit. | That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Spirit. | for my being a servant of Jesus Christ to the nations, acting as priest in the good news of God, that the offering up of the nations may become acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. |
Romans 15:17 | So I have pride in Christ Jesus in the things which are God's. | I have therefore cause for glorying through Jesus Christ, in those things which pertain to God. | I have, then, a boasting in Christ Jesus, in the things pertaining to God, |
Romans 15:18 | And I will keep myself from talking of anything but those things which Christ has done by me to put the Gentiles under his rule in word and in act, | For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, | for I will not dare to speak anything of the things that Christ did not work through me, to obedience of nations, by word and deed, |
Romans 15:19 | By signs and wonders, in the power of the Holy Spirit; so that from Jerusalem and round about as far as Illyricum I have given all the good news of Christ; | Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and around to Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. | in power of signs and wonders, in power of the Spirit of God; so that I, from Jerusalem, and in a circle as far as Illyricum, have fully preached the good news of the Christ; |
Romans 15:20 | Making it my purpose not to take the good news where Christ was named, so that my work might not be resting on that of others; | And so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation: | and so counting it honour to proclaim good news, not where Christ was named that upon another`s foundation I might not build |
Romans 15:21 | But as it is said in the holy Writings, They will see, to whom the news of him had not been given, and those to whose ears it had not come will have knowledge. | But as it is written, They shall see to whom he was not spoken of: and they that have not heard shall understand. | but according as it hath been written, `To whom it was not told concerning him, they shall see; and they who have not heard, shall understand.` |
Romans 15:22 | For which reason I was frequently kept from coming to you: | For which cause also I have been much hindered from coming to you. | Wherefore, also, I was hindered many times from coming unto you, |
Romans 15:23 | But now, having no longer any place in these parts and having had for a number of years a great desire to come to you, | But now having no more place in these parts, and having a great desire these many years to come to you; | and now, no longer having place in these parts, and having a longing to come unto you for many years, |
Romans 15:24 | Whenever I go to Spain (for it is my hope to see you on my way, and to be sent on there by you, if first I may in some measure have been comforted by your company) | Whenever I take my journey into Spain, I will come to you: for I trust to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first I shall be somewhat filled with your company. | when I may go on to Spain I will come unto you, for I hope in going through, to see you, and by you to be set forward thither, if of you first, in part, I shall be filled. |
Romans 15:25 | But now I go to Jerusalem, taking help for the saints. | But now I go to Jerusalem to minister to the saints. | And, now, I go on to Jerusalem, ministering to the saints; |
Romans 15:26 | For it has been the good pleasure of those of Macedonia and Achaia to send a certain amount of money for the poor among the saints at Jerusalem. | For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor of the saints who are at Jerusalem. | for it pleased Macedonia and Achaia well to make a certain contribution for the poor of the saints who [are] in Jerusalem; |
Romans 15:27 | Yes, it has been their good pleasure; and they are in their debt. For if the Gentiles have had a part in the things of the Spirit which were theirs, it is right for them, in the same way, to give them help in the things of the flesh. | It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister to them in carnal things. | for it pleased well, and their debtors they are, for if in their spiritual things the nations did participate, they ought also, in the fleshly things, to minister to them. |
Romans 15:28 | So when I have done this, and have given them this fruit of love, I will go on by you into Spain. | When therefore I have performed this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will go by you into Spain. | This, then, having finished, and having sealed to them this fruit, I will return through you, to Spain; |
Romans 15:29 | And I am certain that when I come, I will be full of the blessing of Christ. | And I am sure that when I come to you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ. | and I have known that coming unto you in the fulness of the blessing of the good news of Christ I shall come. |
Romans 15:30 | Now I make request to you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the love of the Spirit, that you will be working together with me in your prayers to God for me; | Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me; | And I call upon you, brethren, through our Lord Jesus Christ, and through the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in the prayers for me unto God, |
Romans 15:31 | So that I may be kept safe from those in Judaea who have not put themselves under the rule of God, and that the help which I am taking for Jerusalem may be pleasing to the saints; | That I may be delivered from them in Judea who do not believe; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem, may be acceptable to the saints; | that I may be delivered from those not believing in Judea, and that my ministration, that [is] for Jerusalem, may become acceptable to the saints; |
Romans 15:32 | So that I may come to you in joy by the good pleasure of God, and have rest with you. | That I may come to you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed. | that in joy I may come unto you, through the will of God, and may be refreshed with you, |
Romans 15:33 | Now may the God of peace be with you all. So be it. | Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen. | and the God of the peace [be] with you all. Amen. |
