Romans 10:1Brothers, my heart's desire and my prayer to God for them is, that they may get salvation.Brethren, the longing of my heart, and my prayer to God, on behalf of my countrymen is for their salvation.Brethren, the delight of my own heart and my supplication which [I address] to God for them is for salvation.
Romans 10:2For I give witness of them that they have a strong desire for God, but not with knowledge. For I bear witness that they possess an enthusiasm for God, but it is an unenlightened enthusiasm. For I bear them witness that they have zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.
Romans 10:3Because, not having knowledge of God's righteousness, and desiring to give effect to their righteousness, they have not put themselves under the righteousness of God.Ignorant of the righteousness which God provides and building their hopes upon a righteousness of their own, they have refused submission to God's righteousness. For they, being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own [righteousness], have not submitted to the righteousness of God.
Romans 10:4For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who has faith. For as a means of righteousness Christ is the termination of Law to every believer. For Christ is [the] end of law for righteousness to every one that believes.
Romans 10:5For Moses says that the man who does the righteousness which is of the law will get life by it.Moses says that he whose actions conform to the righteousness required by the Law shall live by that righteousness. For Moses lays down in writing the righteousness which is of the law, The man who has practised those things shall live by them.
Romans 10:6But the righteousness which is of faith says these words, Say not in your heart, Who will go up to heaven? (that is, to make Christ come down:)But the righteousness which is based on faith speaks in a different tone. "Say not in your heart," it declares, "`Who shall ascend to Heaven?'" that is, to bring Christ down;But the righteousness of faith speaks thus: Do not say in thine heart, Who shall ascend to the heavens? that is, to bring Christ down;
Romans 10:7Or, Who will go down into the deep? (that is, to make Christ come again from the dead:)"nor `Who shall go down into the abyss?'" that is, to bring Christ up again from the grave.or, Who shall descend into the abyss? that is, to bring up Christ from among [the] dead.
Romans 10:8But what does it say? The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart: that is, the word of faith of which we are the preachers:But what does it say? "The Message is close to you, in your mouth and in your heart;" that is, the Message which we are publishing about the faithBut what says it? The word is near thee, in thy mouth and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach:
Romans 10:9Because, if you say with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and have faith in your heart that God has made him come back from the dead, you will have salvation:that if with your mouth you confess Jesus as Lord and in your heart believe that God brought Him back to life, you shall be saved.that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from among [the] dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:10For with the heart man has faith to get righteousness, and with the mouth he says that Jesus is Lord to get salvation. For with the heart men believe and obtain righteousness, and with the mouth they make confession and obtain salvation. For with [the] heart is believed to righteousness; and with [the] mouth confession made to salvation.
Romans 10:11Because it is said in the holy Writings, Whoever has faith in him will not be shamed. The Scripture says, "No one who believes in Him shall have reason to feel ashamed."For the scripture says, No one believing on him shall be ashamed.
Romans 10:12And the Jew is not different from the Greek: for there is the same Lord of all, who is good to all who have hope in his name:Jew and Gentile are on precisely the same footing; for the same Lord is Lord over all, and is infinitely kind to all who call upon Him for deliverance. For there is no difference of Jew and Greek; for the same Lord of all [is] rich towards all that call upon him.
Romans 10:13Because, Whoever will give worship to the name of the Lord will get salvation. For "every one, without exception, who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."For every one whosoever, who shall call on the name of the Lord, shall be saved.
Romans 10:14But how will they give worship to him in whom they have no faith? and how will they have faith in him of whom they have not had news? and how will they have news without a preacher? But how are they to call on One in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in One whose voice they have never heard? And how are they to hear without a preacher? How then shall they call upon him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe on him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without one who preaches?
Romans 10:15And how will there be preachers if they are not sent? As it is said, How beautiful are the feet of those who give the glad news of good things. And how are men to preach unless they have been sent to do so? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring glad tidings of good!"and how shall they preach unless they have been sent? according as it is written, How beautiful the feet of them that announce glad tidings of peace, of them that announce glad tidings of good things!
Romans 10:16But they have not all given ear to the good news. For Isaiah says, Lord, who has had faith in our word? But, some will say, they have not all hearkened to the Good News. No, for Isaiah asks, "Lord, who has believed the Message they have heard from us?"But they have not all obeyed the glad tidings. For Esaias says, Lord, who has believed our report?
Romans 10:17So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. And this proves that faith comes from a Message heard, and that the Message comes through its having been spoken by Christ. So faith then [is] by a report, but the report by God's word.
Romans 10:18But I say, Did not the word come to their ears? Yes, certainly: Their sound has gone out into all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world. But, I ask, have they not heard? Yes, indeed: "To the whole world the preachers' voices have sounded forth, and their words to the remotest parts of the earth."But I say, Have they not heard? Yea, surely, Their voice has gone out into all the earth, and their words to the extremities of the habitable world.
Romans 10:19But I say, Had Israel no knowledge? First Moses says, You will be moved to envy by that which is not a nation, and by a foolish people I will make you angry. But again, did Israel fail to understand? Listen to Moses first. He says, "I will fire you with jealousy against a nation which is no nation, and with fury against a nation devoid of understanding."But I say, Has not Israel known? First, Moses says, *I* will provoke you to jealousy through [them that are] not a nation: through a nation without understanding I will anger you.
Romans 10:20And Isaiah says without fear, Those who were not searching for me made discovery of me; and I was seen by those whose hearts were turned away from me.And Isaiah, with strange boldness, exclaims, "I have been found by those who were not looking for Me, I have revealed Myself to those who were not inquiring of Me."But Esaias is very bold, and says, I have been found by those not seeking me; I have become manifest to those not inquiring after me.
Romans 10:21But about Israel he says; All the day my hands have been stretched out to a people whose hearts were turned away, and who put themselves against my word. While as to Israel he says, "All day long I have stretched out My arms to a self-willed and fault-finding people."But unto Israel he says, All the day long I have stretched out my hands unto a people disobeying and opposing.
