Titus 2:1But let your words be in agreement with true and right teaching:But as for you, you must speak in a manner that befits wholesome teaching.But speak thou the things that become sound doctrine:
Titus 2:2That old men are to be simple in their tastes, serious, wise, true in faith, in love, and of a quiet mind.Exhort aged men to be temperate, grave, sober-minded, robust in their faith, their love and their patience.That the aged men be sober, chaste, prudent, sound in faith, in love, in patience.
Titus 2:3That old women are to be self-respecting in behaviour, not saying evil of others, not given to taking much wine, teachers of that which is good,In the same way exhort aged women to let their conduct be such as becomes consecrated persons. They must not be slanderers nor enslaved to wine-drinking. They must be teachers of what is right.The aged women, in like manner, in holy attire, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teaching well:
Titus 2:4Training the younger women to have love for their husbands and children,They should school the young women to be affectionate to their husbands and to their children, to be sober-minded, pure in their lives,That they may teach the young women to be wise, to love their husbands, to love their children,
Titus 2:5To be wise in mind, clean in heart, kind; working in their houses, living under the authority of their husbands; so that no evil may be said of the word of God.industrious in their homes, kind, submissive to their husbands, so that the Christian teaching may not be exposed to reproach.To be discreet, chaste, sober, having a care of the house, gentle, obedient to their husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
Titus 2:6To the young men give orders to be wise and serious-minded:In the same way exhort the younger men to be discreet,Young men, in like manner, exhort that they be sober.
Titus 2:7In all things see that you are an example of good works; holy in your teaching, serious in behaviour,and above all make your own life a pattern of right conduct, having in your teaching no taint of insincerity, but a serious tone,In all things shew thyself an example of good works, in doctrine, in integrity, in gravity,
Titus 2:8Saying true and right words, against which no protest may be made, so that he who is not on our side may be put to shame, unable to say any evil of us.and healthy language which no one can censure, so that our opponents may feel ashamed at having nothing evil to say against us.The sound word that can not be blamed: that he, who is on the contrary part, may be afraid, having no evil to say of us.
Titus 2:9Servants are to be under the authority of their masters, pleasing them in all things, without argument;Exhort slaves to be always obedient to their owners, and to give them satisfaction in everything, not contradicting and not pilfering,Exhort servants to be obedient to their masters, in all things pleasing, not gainsaying:
Titus 2:10Not taking what is not theirs, but giving clear signs of their good faith, in all things doing credit to the teaching of God our Saviour.but manifesting perfect fidelity and kind feeling, in order to bring honour to the teaching of our Saviour, God, in all things.Not defrauding, but in all things shewing good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things:
Titus 2:11For the grace of God has come, giving salvation to all men,For the grace of God has displayed itself with healing power to all mankind,For the grace of God our Savior hath appeared to all men;
Titus 2:12Training us so that, turning away from evil and the desires of this world, we may be living wisely and uprightly in the knowledge of God in this present life;training us to renounce ungodliness and all the pleasures of this world, and to live sober, upright, and pious lives at the present time,Instructing us, that, denying ungodliness and worldly desires, we should live soberly, and justly, and godly in this world,
Titus 2:13Looking for the glad hope, the revelation of the glory of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ;in expectation of the fulfilment of our blessed hope the Appearing in glory of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ;Looking for the blessed hope and coming of the glory of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ,
Titus 2:14Who gave himself for us, so that he might make us free from all wrongdoing, and make for himself a people clean in heart and on fire with good works.who gave Himself for us to purchase our freedom from all iniquity, and purify for Himself a people who should be specially His own, zealous for doing good works.Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and might cleanse to himself a people acceptable, a pursuer of good works.
Titus 2:15On all these points give teaching and help, and make clear what is right with all authority. Let all men give you honour.Thus speak, exhort, reprove, with all impressiveness. Let no one make light of your authority.These things speak, and exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
