| John 9:1 | And when he went on his way, he saw a man blind from birth. | As He passed by, He saw a man who had been blind from his birth. | And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man who was blind from his birth. |
| John 9:2 | And his disciples put a question to him, saying, Master, was it because of this man's sin, or the sin of his father and mother, that he has been blind from birth? | So His disciples asked Him, "Rabbi, who sinned this man or his parents that he was born blind?" | And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who sinned, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? |
| John 9:3 | Jesus said in answer, It was not because of his sin, or because of his father's or mother's; it was so that the works of God might be seen openly in him. | "Neither he nor his parents sinned," answered Jesus, "but he was born blind in order that God's mercy might be openly shown in him. | Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. |

So he went and washed his eyes, and returned able to see. | And said to him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went therefore, and washed, and came seeing. |

| John 9:18 | Now the Jews had no belief in the statement that he had been blind and was now able to see, till they sent for the father and mother of the man whose eyes had been made open, | The Jews, however, did not believe the statement concerning him that he had been blind and had obtained his sight until they called his parents and asked them, | But the Jews did not believe concerning him that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight. |

Ask him himself; he is of full age; he himself will give his own account of it." | But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he will speak for himself. |
| John 9:22 | They said this because of their fear of the Jews: for the Jews had come to an agreement that if any man said that Jesus was the Christ he would be put out of the Synagogue. | Such was their answer, because they were afraid of the Jews; for the Jews had already settled among themselves that if any one should acknowledge Jesus as the Christ, he should be excluded from the synagogue. | These words his parents spoke, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man confessed that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue. |
