1st-Peter 5:1I who am myself one of the rulers of the church, and a witness of the death of Christ, having my part in the coming glory, send this serious request to the chief men among you:So I exhort the Elders among you I who am their fellow Elder and have been an eye-witness of the sufferings of the Christ, and am also a sharer in the glory which is soon to be revealed.I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and who will also share in the glory that will be revealed.
1st-Peter 5:2Keep watch over the flock of God which is in your care, using your authority, not as forced to do so, but gladly; and not for unclean profit but with a ready mind;Be shepherds of God's flock which is among you. Exercise the oversight not reluctantly but eagerly, in accordance with the will of God; not for base gain but with cheerful minds;Tend the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not under compulsion, but voluntarily, not for dishonest gain, but willingly;
1st-Peter 5:3Not as lords over God's heritage, but making yourselves examples to the flock.not lording it over your Churches but proving yourselves patterns for the flock to imitate.neither as lording it over the charge allotted to you, but making yourselves examples to the flock.
1st-Peter 5:4And at the coming of the chief Keeper of the sheep, you will be given the eternal crown of glory.And then, when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the never-withering wreath of glory.When the chief Shepherd will be revealed, you will receive the crown of glory that doesn't fade away.
1st-Peter 5:5And in the same way, let the younger men be ruled by the older ones. Let all of you put away pride and make yourselves ready to be servants: for God is a hater of pride, but he gives grace to those who make themselves low.In the same way you younger men must submit to your elders; and all of you must gird yourselves with humility towards one another, for God sets Himself against the proud, but gives grace to the humble.Likewise, you younger ones, be subject to the elder. Yes, all of you gird yourselves with humility, to subject yourselves to one another; for "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."
1st-Peter 5:6For this cause make yourselves low under the strong hand of God, so that when the time comes you may be lifted up;Humble yourselves therefore beneath the mighty hand of God, so that at the right time He may set you on high.Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time;
1st-Peter 5:7Putting all your troubles on him, for he takes care of you.Throw the whole of your anxiety upon Him, because He Himself cares for you.casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.
1st-Peter 5:8Be serious and keep watch; the Evil One, who is against you, goes about like a lion with open mouth in search of food;Curb every passion, and be on the alert. Your great accuser, the Devil, is going about like a roaring lion to see whom he can devour.Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary the devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
1st-Peter 5:9Do not give way to him but be strong in your faith, in the knowledge that your brothers who are in the world undergo the same troubles.Withstand him, firm in your faith; knowing that your brethren in other parts of the world are passing through just the same experiences.Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings.
1st-Peter 5:10And after you have undergone pain for a little time, the God of all grace who has given you a part in his eternal glory through Christ Jesus, will himself give you strength and support, and make you complete in every good thing;And God, the giver of all grace, who has called you to share His eternal glory, through Christ, after you have suffered for a short time, will Himself make you perfect, firm, and strong.But may the God of all grace (who called you to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus), after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
1st-Peter 5:11His is the power for ever. So be it.To Him be all power unto the Ages of the Ages! Amen.To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.
1st-Peter 5:12I have sent you this short letter by Silvanus, a true brother, in my opinion; comforting you and witnessing that this is the true grace of God; keep to it.I send this short letter by Silas, our faithful brother for such I regard him in order to encourage you, and to bear witness that what I have told you is the true grace of God. In it stand fast.Through Silvanus, our faithful brother, as I consider him, I have written to you briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which you stand.
1st-Peter 5:13She who is in Babylon, who has a part with you in the purpose of God, sends you her love; and so does my son Mark.The Church in Babylon, chosen like yourselves by God, sends greetings, and so does Mark my son.She who is in Babylon, elect together with you, greets you; and so does Mark, my son.
1st-Peter 5:14Give one another the kiss of love. Peace be to you all in Christ.Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace be with all of you who are in Christ.Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace be to you all who are in Christ Jesus. Amen.
