| John 7:1 | After this, Jesus went from place to place in Galilee. He did not go about in Judaea, because the Jews were looking for a chance to put him to death. | After this Jesus moved from place to place in Galilee. He would not go about in Judaea, because the Jews were seeking an opportunity to kill Him. | After these things, Jesus walked in Galilee, for he would not walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill him. |
| John 7:2 | But the feast of the Jews, the feast of tents, was near. | But the Jewish Festival of the Tent-Pitching was approaching. | Now the feast of the Jews, the Feast of Booths, was at hand. |

Can the Rulers really have ascertained that this man is the Christ? | Behold, he speaks openly, and they say nothing to him. Can it be that the rulers indeed know that this is truly the Christ? |
| John 7:27 | However, it is clear to us where this man comes from: but when the Christ comes no one will have knowledge where he comes from. | And yet we know this man, and we know where he is from; but as for the Christ, when He comes, no one can tell where He is from." | However we know where this man comes from, but when the Christ comes, no one will know where he comes from." |
