Joel 3:1For in those days and in that time, when I let the fate of Judah and Jerusalem be changed,For lo, in those days, and in that time, When I turn back [to] the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
Joel 3:2I will get together all the nations, and make them come down into the valley of Jehoshaphat; and there I will take up with them the cause of my people and of my heritage Israel, whom they have sent wandering among the nations, and of my land which has been parted by them. Then I have gathered all the nations, And caused them to go down unto the valley of Jehoshaphat, And I have been judged with them there, Concerning My people and Mine inheritance Israel, Whom they scattered among nations, And My land they have apportioned.
Joel 3:3And they have put the fate of my people to the decision of chance: giving a boy for the price of a loose woman and a girl for a drink of wine. And for My people they do cast a lot, And they give the young man for an harlot, And the young woman have sold for wine, That they may drink.
Joel 3:4And further, what are you to me, O Tyre and Zidon and all the circle of Philistia? will you give me back any payment? and if you do, quickly and suddenly I will send it back on your head,And also, what [are] ye to Me, O Tyre and Zidon, And all circuits of Philistia? Recompence are ye rendering unto Me? And if ye are giving recompence to Me, Swiftly, hastily, I turn back your recompence on your head.
Joel 3:5For you have taken my silver and my gold, putting in the houses of your gods my beautiful and pleasing things. In that My silver and My gold ye took, And My desirable things that are good, Ye have brought in to your temples.
Joel 3:6And the children of Judah and the children of Jerusalem you have given for a price to the sons of the Greeks, to send them far away from their land:And sons of Judah, and sons of Jerusalem, Ye have sold to the sons of Javan, To put them far off from their border.
Joel 3:7See, I will have them moved from the place where you have sent them, and will let what you have done come back on your head;Lo, I am stirring them up out of the place Whither ye have sold them, And I have turned back your recompence on your head,
Joel 3:8I will give your sons and your daughters into the hands of the children of Judah for a price, and they will give them for a price to the men of Sheba, a nation far off: for the Lord has said it.And have sold your sons and your daughters Into the hand of the sons of Judah, And they have sold them to Shabeans, Unto a nation far off, for Jehovah hath spoken.
Joel 3:9Give this out among the nations; make ready for war: get the strong men awake; let all the men of war come near, let them come up.Proclaim ye this among nations, Sanctify a war, stir up the mighty ones, Come nigh, come up, let all the men of war.
Joel 3:10Get your plough-blades hammered into swords, and your vine-knives into spears: let the feeble say, I am strong.Beat your ploughshares to swords, And your pruning-hooks to javelins, Let the weak say, `I [am] mighty.`
Joel 3:11Come quickly, all you nations round about, and get yourselves together there: make your strong ones come down, O Lord.Haste, and come in, all ye nations round, And be gathered together, Thither cause to come down, O Jehovah, Thy mighty ones.
Joel 3:12Let the nations be awake, and come to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there I will be seated as judge of all the nations round about.Wake and come up let the nations unto the valley of Jehoshaphat, For there I sit to judge all the nations around.
Joel 3:13Put in the blade, for the grain is ready: come, get you down, for the wine-crusher is full, the vessels are overflowing; for great is their evil-doing.Send ye forth a sickle, For ripened hath harvest, Come in, come down, for filled hath been the press, Overflowed hath wine-presses, For great [is] their wickedness.
Joel 3:14Masses on masses in the valley of decision! for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.Multitudes, multitudes [are] in the valley of decision, For near [is] the day of Jehovah in the valley of decision.
Joel 3:15The sun and the moon have become dark, and the stars keep back their shining.Sun and moon have been black, And stars have gathered up their shining.
Joel 3:16And the Lord will be thundering from Zion, and his voice will be sounding from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth will be shaking: but the Lord will be a breastplate for his people and a strong place for the children of Israel. And Jehovah from Zion doth roar, And from Jerusalem giveth forth His voice, And shaken have the heavens and earth, And Jehovah [is] a refuge to his people, And a stronghold to sons of Israel.
Joel 3:17And you will be certain that I am the Lord your God, living in Zion, my holy mountain: and Jerusalem will be holy, and no strange person will ever again go through her.And ye have known that I [am] Jehovah your God, Dwelling in Zion, My holy mountain, And Jerusalem hath been holy, And strangers do not pass over into it again.
Joel 3:18And it will come about in that day that the mountains will be dropping sweet wine, and the hills will be flowing with milk, and all the streams of Judah will be flowing with water; and a fountain will come out from the house of the Lord, watering the valley of acacia-trees.And it hath come to pass, in that day, Drop down do the mountains juice, And the hills do flow [with] milk, And all streams of Judah do go [with] water, And a fountain from the house of Jehovah goeth forth, And hath watered the valley of Shittim.
Joel 3:19Egypt will be a waste and Edom a land of destruction, because of the evil done to the children of Judah, because they have let blood be drained out in their land without cause.Egypt a desolation becometh, And Edom a desolation, a wilderness, becometh, For violence [to] sons of Judah, Whose innocent blood they shed in their land.
Joel 3:20But Judah will be peopled for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation. And Judah to the age doth dwell, And Jerusalem to generation and generation.
Joel 3:21And I will send punishment for their blood, for which punishment has not been sent, for the Lord is living in Zion. And I have declared their blood innocent, [That] I did not declare innocent, And Jehovah is dwelling in Zion!
